I have an email account at optonline.net (could be optimum.net, too). Motorola's support section says that Optimum recommends using a browser to access mobile email (what???? I have to go get it??? It won't come to me???) but then provides the settings to use in the email app. Using auto configuration, I'm receiving my email in seconds, but I can't send email from the phone. I've tried to configure it manually (the automatic configuration provides the wrong name for the outgoing server) but so far, no combination of settings has resulted in my ability to send an email from optimum on my Droid Razr.
I need to set my outgoing work email (SMTP) server port number to 587 and connection security to TLS. However, I can't see an option to set either the port number nor the security to TLS. SSL security can be turned on/off, but no mention of TLS.
I have read elsewhere that setting the server name as <server name> : <port number> can be used (that is, using a colon to separate the server name from the port number), but still this does not allow for selecting TLS security.
My incoming email, IMAP, works fine, so my connection/username/password etc. should all be fine.
Over the past three days, when I place or receive a call the person on the other line cannot hear my voice. When I dial out I can hear the person on the other line however my voice in inaudible. Whene I toggle back and forth between speaker ON and speaker OFF the other person can barely hear my voice when the speaker is on...but not at all when it is off. When I check my system in the Setings>About section I confirm my system is up-to-date. I have voice privacy de-selected (did not notice any difference).
I cannot make outgoing phone calls. The phone I'm calling to rings but is dead air when the other person answers. I have dead air on my end also. I can receive calls OK.
During Incoming and Outgoing Calls, I have to activate the speaker phone for the person on the other line to hear me. Is this an issue that I can resolve myself (settings or physical dust) or do I need to send my phone in?
Upgraded my BB to a 9900 recently and I can't get one of my email addresses working for outgoing mail (incoming works fine). On past BBs I've had this email account working great, but I had to specify separate incoming and outgoing mail servers, including the ports. On my 9900 I can only specify one mail server. how to change the email settings to allow for different incoming and outgoing mail servers?... Enterprise email and gmail works like a charm.
about 6 months ago my mother in law purchased an Iphone. I set up her email for her using a pop 3. At the time I could not get the godaddy outgoing email server to work so I used my local ISP provied outgoing smtp server with my user name and password.
Now my mother in law moved to a different sate and she got a new iphone but my outgoing mail server still shows up as the primary outgoing mail server so she still needs my user name and password.
Also on my iphone I noticed there are 8 "other smtp servers" in addition to the primary. I want to delete them all.
AT&T Outgoing Server cwmx.com is not working for me at all any more. Around June 7th, it just stopped working. I keep getting the, "No server response". I have an iPhone 4G, OS5.1.1 I deleted the cwmx.com outgoing server and readded which did not help. I deleted the "pop" email accounts and readded them which did not help. I reset the network settings; the factory settings; then restored the phone back to a date previous to the problem. None helped.
For the past 3 days it has been saying either my IMAP is failing or my outgoing server is failing. I don't know what to do and I need my emails for school. I have a 4s but I just recently updated and it seems like it all started after that. I have internet and my emails work on the computer so it has to be something with my phone itself.
My Droid Raxr HD Maxx has developed a very bad habit. Whenever I initiate a voice call, the microphone fails. The failure is exactly at the point of connection, which is to say that I can use the mic for voice dialing. Toggling the speaker button or adjusting the volume (which is set at high) remedies the problem, toggling the mute button does not. This occurs on outgoing calls only; incoming calls are normal.
I have reasonable, but limited, BB exposure over a number of years, but always in a simple email scenario (typically one handset, accessing a single POP3 account). However, for reasons that I will skip over at this point in time for simplicity, we now need to set up a 9300 (on BT, here in the UK) to be able receive from one (POP3) server, but send out via another (SMTP).Unfortunately, however, the BT web interface (BIS ?) only allows one address for "server".
Just recently made the android switch for the first time so I'm pretty new to some things that may be obvious to others. I recently found out that I can only receive emails and cannot send outgoing emails through my icloud account.
Now I have read that my security type could also be set to SSL (accept all certificates), TLS, and TLS (accept all certificates). These are my only options. My port number is apparently supposed to be 587, however my device tells me it "cannot safely connect to server". how I can change my port number ?
This IPhone 4 is new, I have made sure that all the credentials are correct and the outgoing settings are set up but still the emails won't send. I just sold my Blackberry which sends emails better then any other phone, I need this e-mail for work, please help?
Cannot send outgoing messages from my IPhone. Receive the following message: Cannot Send Mail, The connection to the outgoing server"pgfitzterald@cox.net" failed. Additional OUtgoign Mail Servers can be configured in Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendar
E-mail mesages seem to be coming in fine BUT I often get the notice "Invalid Server Certificate". What does that indicate and how can I keep that from being the nuisance that it is?
DROID BINOIC..> .SETTINGS.>WIRELESS AND NETWORK SETTINGS> ETHERNET IS "DISABLED" IT IS ALSO GRAYED OUT AND WILL NOT ENABLE ......ETHERNET SETTINGS IS ALSO GRAYED OUT
I've had my new Droid 4 since June 6. I was able to set up my yahoo email and gmail accounts. However, Cox is my primary...day-to-day...email and I can't get the account to set up correctly. I've followed the manual set up instructions posted ny Motorola and I still get a Server Error message.
I have tried to configure this several times and ways. some messages will remain on the server but most wont. I have to be doing something wrong but danged if I can figure it out. it happens on both my email acct. gmail and yahoo!
My Blackberry Bold 9900 running software version 7.1.0.523.When I get phone calls from certain private numbers, if I make an outgoing phone call the number on my display will switch to "private number" and not be logged in the call log. The only way to fix this is when a non-private number phone call is received or to take out the sim and put it back in again.I have replaced SIM, wiped and reloaded OS, but still experiencing the same issues.
I've had a Galaxy G2 for several months now and all of a sudden the outgoing email facility no longer works. If I try to reset the outgoing email settings, everything is fine and the test appears successful. But when I try to send email I find that I receive message 'Connection error'. I am currently set to send emails without signing on, the port number is 25 and the SMTP server is [URL] I have tried signing in and changing the smtp address to others suggested on other sites, i.e [URL], but setup is never completed.
When I go to the My Files app and enter a server for the Shared Folders, the server info stays until I either restart my phone or if the app is stopped. When I go back into the app after one of those the servers are gone.
I have followed the instructions for my pop server and smtp server. My ports are 110 and 80. I changed my user name for the outgoing server to just my name without the "domain@.com." I have even changed the ports according to some recommendations on the web. Nothing works.
I've had the RAZR for a few days now, and one of the main things I used my last phone for (droid x) was to listen to music at work.I've been listening to music these past three days, and when I look at the battery use chart, there is something called "Mediaserver" using up a significant amount of battery life (~20% or more if I've listened to a lot of music). On my droid x I never saw this process on my battery use, and I am wondering if there is an option or something that I am overlooking that is increasing the amount of battery drain from listening to music.I listen to mp3s on the stock music app and to mp3 and m4a podcasts using Pocket Casts.I can't say for sure, but Mediaserver seems to not appear on the battery list until I start listening to music and to not increase the amount of battery that it uses while not listening to music.
I have accumulated over 1400 contacts in Outlook over the last 10 years. So, when I purchased my Droid 2 last year, there was no problem importing them into the phone with the exchange server. But, when the number increased above 1500, I noticed that the phone only accommodates 1487. note that I don't import contacts from other sources like Google or a social networking site.
I have Yahoo, Gmail and Road Runner accounts. The problem is that I'd like to leave the emails on the computer but be able to remove some of them from my Bionic after I see them. Is there a way to set up the Bionic so that I can delete them from the phone but leave them on the computer so that I can respond to them later?
As it is now, I am just leaving them on the phone until after I take care of business on the computer...then I go back to the phone and delete them. I'm thinking about K9 as I have heard a lot about it. Not sure if it will be the answer to my prayers or not but I'll check here first.
I've recently got an E72 and I'm trying to set-up email (via Lineone). I've done the inbox thing ok but can't send anything. On the Advanced Mailbox settings, there is no Incoming mailbox or Outgoing mailbox settings option. I've searched high and low but can't find anything that will let me have access to the Outgoing mailbox.
