When I go to the My Files app and enter a server for the Shared Folders, the server info stays until I either restart my phone or if the app is stopped. When I go back into the app after one of those the servers are gone.

View 12 Replies View RelatedAfter reading the posts here about assigning a different texting app rather than using VZWs stock texting app, I decided to try it. I disabled the stock app, which DID remove it from the lock screen. It left a blank space. When I dragged down toward it, it opened the camera app instead.
I noticed in Manage Apps> App Info that there is a selection called Launch by Default/No defaults set, and a button marked Clear Defaults. This section is grayed out in every single app in manage apps; how to enable it? I'd like to disable VZW text messaging, and enable Google Talk in its place.
Secondly - after the ICS update, I now have multiple references to the same apps in Manage Apps>All Apps. There are three separate references for Backup Assistant Plus, and two for Google Maps. Looking at App Info, some are the old versions (pre ICS) and some are the new ones (post ICS). Is there a way to delete the old references and clean things up a tad?
I just got out of a live chat w a Motorola rep, and they had no answers either. Or maybe I should quit digging into the phone and just enjoy it? LOL it's like picking at a scab.
So they finally added the ability to share info about the current song you're listening to with friends, however when it comes up with the content of what to send it says "Me recommends <song name> by <artist name>", and continues on with the link to info, etc. Where is it picking up the "Me"? Obviously I have to tell the system who I am somewhere, but haven't found any option inside the Music player nor in the Contacts to specify one of them as my own contact.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had the RAZR for a few days now, and one of the main things I used my last phone for (droid x) was to listen to music at work.I've been listening to music these past three days, and when I look at the battery use chart, there is something called "Mediaserver" using up a significant amount of battery life (~20% or more if I've listened to a lot of music). On my droid x I never saw this process on my battery use, and I am wondering if there is an option or something that I am overlooking that is increasing the amount of battery drain from listening to music.I listen to mp3s on the stock music app and to mp3 and m4a podcasts using Pocket Casts.I can't say for sure, but Mediaserver seems to not appear on the battery list until I start listening to music and to not increase the amount of battery that it uses while not listening to music.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Razr. I love the phone. I use the email application that looks like an envelope with a "@" partially sticking out of it. It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). I've looked and looked and can't find a setting on the phone that would prevent this.

We need an option/feature so that when you delete messages from the email server that they are removed from the phone. Having to redundantly delete messages from the phone that have already been deleted from the server is ridiculous.
The opposite is provided ... you can choose if you want to delete messages from the server when you delete them from the phone but the reverse needs to be provided as well.
I recently purchased a Droid Razr Max from Verizon. The first several days it was working fine and able to retreive my corporate emails in their entirety. Recently, and it may be a coincidence that the phone automatically applied an android patch, I get a message when opening an email that is longer than 2 paragraphs of HTML text. The message says "to save data, this message was partially downloaded. And then there is a button to get full message. When I select that, I get an error that it is unable to fetch message body from server.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was working after lunch and noticed that my phone was getting hotter and hotter. When I looked at the screen it showed constant data up and down. I wasnt syncing anything or surfing but it wouldnt stop. I shut down and restarted and even did the software "Battery Pull" but soon enough it would start data again and the battery would be eaten up. It was on 4G. Then finally it would stop an hour or so later. If I start the music app again it starts all over. Here is a thread on another site where we are trying to narrow it down. They think it may be the media server as it shows a lot of data usage!

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a number of audio books that I loaded onto my SD card. I inserted the card into my RAZR Maxx HD and some of the books show the Artist and Book titles as "unknown".
I keep these files in a portable hard drive so when I look at them on my PC I have a folder with the Author's name and the book name. Inside the folder I have "Track 1", "Track 2" etc.
I just loaded 10 of these books (folders) and 4 of them show up in the "Play Music" app with "Unknown Album" and "Unknown Artist".
If I plug my phone into my PC I see all the folders with their author name and book title. I imagine that the app is looking at some information that is in the actual file to display the author and book title. Is there a way to get it to display the file names that folders actually have? If not is there a way that I can edit the "Unknown" fields?
The picture shows the files on my phone displayed on my PC and displyed on my Phone. Notice that all the folders have names on the PC but not on the phone.
this summer, I've broken the LCD SCREEN on my phone, MOTOROLA RAZR XT910 . There is a lot, like A LOT of informations and files that I need, I've alrady tried to connect via the HDMI CABLE, but nothing. It's connected to the computer and I can't access the files, because it says to "insert a disk into the driver". Is there any program on the NET so I can get my files back and put them on my computer?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is the size limitation for these attachments? I recorded a 23 second clip in MMS mode which totaled 368KB. It won't go. I had one rep. tell me the limit was 15 seconds regardless of size. I thought I had read on VZ site it was 500K but may have dreamed that.
Or is it neither size or length but something else? And finally is it the same for GMail?
Has anyone setup remote storage under the files app? I have tried to get it set up to work with my network storage. Does anyone have any details on how they set it up?

My OS is Windows XP SP3.I have installed the latest version 2.3.4 of the"Motorola Device Manager" software.The install goes fine. There are no "Plug phone in now" kind of prompts, but the installer says the program is installed and will launch whenever I plug in the phone.So when I unlock and plug in the phone, the MDM icon shows up in the system tray, and the Windows "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" comes up. Hmmm...did the software installer install the drivers or not?If I click Next, the message "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software."So I go back and change the selection to "install from a list or specific location", then specify to look in C:WINDOWSsystem32 (which usually works for most things)
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have Jelly Bean on my Maxx HD. I am trying to copy and paste, or even move files from one location to another. It makes no difference if it's from internal to external SD card or vice-versa. Or even from internal to internal storage but the copy paste does NOT work.
What am I doing wrong? When I choose the files to copy or move, then I choose the new location, the process appears to start but the counter stays on 0% and never moves. All I can do is cancel the operation and try again only to do the same thing. What is going on here?
I have tried the same thing using OI FIle Manager and I get the same results.
I received the 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OTA update for my Droid Razr on Tuesday morning July 3, 2012. The install was uneventful. One feature of the previous operating system I use frequently is File Manager. I noticed that after the OTA update to ICS that the feature to "Move" does not work, or at least doesn't allow me to move files from Internal Storage to the SD Card. I searched the Forums and didn't find any discussions about File Manager not working the same in ICS as it did in Ginger Bread. I read the numerous marketing guides and preparation documents that were published on the Motorola Razr website and didn't read anything about File Manager changing. I downloaded the new Razr Operating Guide for ICS and found no discussion about File Manager being different.
I tried Motorola Live Chat and ended up getting referred to Level 2 Tech Support. I have powered the device off and on numerous times in the last 48 hours. I have also done a Power + Volume Down restart but the Move option is still not working. Specifically, I can select a file from a folder in Internal Phone Storage and select Move. I can press the Back arrow-key but as soon as I am back at the File Manager main screen (so I can select SD Card), the option to Move disappears. If I press SD Card (like I did before with Ginger Bread) the Move button does not reappear at the bottom of the page.
I copied 7zip encrypted files to my external SD card using my laptop and then encrypted the SD card with the Razr M's FIPS compliant encryption engine and now I'm unable to open the 7zip encrypted files. I keep getting "Cannot open file as an archive" error, no mater what program I'm using.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI set up motoprint so it prints to a HP Laserjet shared by a computer called "Outcast" on my home network. I installed Motoprint on "Enterprise", my main computer that I use which also prints to the Laserjet over the home wifi. I also have Motoprint set up on my RAZR. The RAZR sees the printer in Manage Printers and says that it is online. I print to it without error, but nothing prints. The Print Queue shows the document as "job sent to server" and there appears no way to clear it. When I look on Enterprise's printer status it doesnt' show anything in the print queue. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.

"Power button ends call" = checked. But that'sit. Nothing on how to control those two buttoms.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter my last thread which pointed out I was just simply lookin in the wrong place I bet there is a pretty easy solution for this too, I just can't seem to find it.Currently when unlocking my phone, I have to do the slide to unlock, and then input my pattern to unlock. I want my phone so that when I only have to do the pattern.The security options on the phone allow for "None", "Pattern", "Password", and "Pin". It says nothing of the slide to unlock feature and I can not figure out how to turn the thing off.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a new user coming from an iphone to a windows phone Nokia 1520 on my Iphone I could chose to not delete email on the server when syncing I can't seem to do this with the windows email app. I want to be able to read my email on my phone when out of the office but do the permanent download from the server on my office PC ....same with my home email. We don't use exchange at work. If I sync with my phone and then delete the email from my phone it deletes it off the server.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt seems that firmware "leaks" and posts from Devs on XDA are the only way of getting any information as there's precious little official information coming from Moto itself.I know a lot of people are eagerly awaiting ICS, but in the meantime its frustrating to know that Moto ARE working on updated (Gingerbread) firmware for the Razr given the fact that the leaked files DO exist.. many people, myself included, however.. are reluctant to flash leaked firmware even if it does appear to be very stable (from what I've read), and would rather wait for something "official" from Moto...The last "official" EN.EU firmware released was gratefully received late December with very little notification (651.73.30 I believe), but as I'm sure many of you have read there's also a 651.167.20 firmware floating around.. again, with a complete info blackout from Moto to their customers that there's even anything going on..
