I have followed the instructions for my pop server and smtp server. My ports are 110 and 80. I changed my user name for the outgoing server to just my name without the "domain@.com." I have even changed the ports according to some recommendations on the web. Nothing works.
View 4 RepliesI've set up several non-gmail POP email accounts using the MoPho Q's ICS built-in email app just like I had done on my MoPho 4G, but one on a GoDaddy hosted domain won't work. I enter the email info (my.name@mydomain.com), my password, the GoDaddy mail host name (pop.secureserver.net), port 110, security type NONE, and tap "Next." It thinks for a few seconds,with "Checking incoming server settings..." then comes back with "Couldn't finish:Username or password incorrect." (Server name, port, and security type are per GoDaddy directions.)

1) Delete from local device
2) Delete from server and local device
Whith my Droid when I delete a email it still stays on server and therefore shows up as unread in Outlook.
I've had my new Droid 4 since June 6. I was able to set up my yahoo email and gmail accounts. However, Cox is my primary...day-to-day...email and I can't get the account to set up correctly. I've followed the manual set up instructions posted ny Motorola and I still get a Server Error message.

We need an option/feature so that when you delete messages from the email server that they are removed from the phone. Having to redundantly delete messages from the phone that have already been deleted from the server is ridiculous.
The opposite is provided ... you can choose if you want to delete messages from the server when you delete them from the phone but the reverse needs to be provided as well.
Since upgrading, CorporateSync can no longer communicate with our MS Exchange email server at work. I am in I.T., and spent the moring with two co-workers troubleshooting this. We moved the phone into a test area with no policies, then turned on and off each policy, testing connectivity results for each one.The only policy preventing the phone from connecting to the server was, "Password Required". The phone can connect to the server only if a password is not required.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy business email is hosted on a private server. My incoming mail comes through that server, of course, while my outgoing mail goes through Cox, my ISP. Problem is that while I can receive email with the native app on my DRIOID Bionic, I can't send email. Motorola telephone support helped me get it set up correctly (send and receive) with K9, but it's only receiving with the native app. (Support pretty much bailed at that point.) How can I get it to send also with the native app?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am unable to send an email with a new attachment via my corporate email. It does not matter if the attachment is 50kb or 1mb. I tried to do the same via GMail and had no issues. If I receive a corporate email with an attachment, I can forward that without any issues. The problem is when I add an attachment to an email. I also tried using Touchdown which had the same issue.
I have tried the following:
checked exchange / activesync settings to verify no restrictions reformatted the sd card, even though attachments were not on there. couple of reboots removing and re-adding the corporate account
unable to send email. i can receive and view but get the error message " rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying"

Receiving works perfectly, and I'm very happy with the service.Whenever I try to send email, the mail is 'sent' on my phone, but I get a delivery status notification (failure) email.

View 1 Replies View Relatedcan't get the Data push feature to work on my two GoDaddy IMAP email accounts. When I first turn on Data push, it appears not to change mode, and no test messages get transmitted until I force it to fetch. After power cycling, the accounts no longer receive any mail at all. The green "throbber" circle, at the upper left, next to the account name, never stops spinning, and no mail ever shows up. I do not receive any more mail until I turn of Data push and reboot the phone. K9 works perfectly, on the same two accounts, and receives new messages immediately. I would really like to use the native client so that I can take advantage of the Motoblur messaging widget, but timely arrival of mail messages takes precedence for me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy very small company uses Exchange Server 2003 to host our own email. On my laptop, I use Outlook. When I'm out of the office I connect my laptop to the internet and access my exchange mail via an IMAP account. With that connection, I can send mail using the SMTP server. I got my new Atrix 2 and set up that account using the advanced settings that were the closest to the settings I use for the IMAP account in my Outlook setup. I was immediately able to see my inbox and receive email. After one tweak (that I can't remember any more), I was able to sent mail. Then a few hours later, I couldn't. I've tried every possible combination of the Advanced Settings in the Account Setup screens on the phone. Nothing works. I tried a Master Reset and all that accomplished was flushing away the contact list that the salesperson had copied to my new Atrix from my old phone when I bought it. I thought that was backed up to Google and would be restored when I logged back in but apparently not. Any advice on how to get that back? But the main problem is sending mail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had the RAZR for a few days now, and one of the main things I used my last phone for (droid x) was to listen to music at work.I've been listening to music these past three days, and when I look at the battery use chart, there is something called "Mediaserver" using up a significant amount of battery life (~20% or more if I've listened to a lot of music). On my droid x I never saw this process on my battery use, and I am wondering if there is an option or something that I am overlooking that is increasing the amount of battery drain from listening to music.I listen to mp3s on the stock music app and to mp3 and m4a podcasts using Pocket Casts.I can't say for sure, but Mediaserver seems to not appear on the battery list until I start listening to music and to not increase the amount of battery that it uses while not listening to music.

So, when I purchased my Droid 2 last year, there was no problem importing them into the phone with the exchange server. But, when the number increased above 1500, I noticed that the phone only accommodates 1487. note that I don't import contacts from other sources like Google or a social networking site.

The problem is that I'd like to leave the emails on the computer but be able to remove some of them from my Bionic after I see them. Is there a way to set up the Bionic so that I can delete them from the phone but leave them on the computer so that I can respond to them later?
As it is now, I am just leaving them on the phone until after I take care of business on the computer...then I go back to the phone and delete them. I'm thinking about K9 as I have heard a lot about it. Not sure if it will be the answer to my prayers or not but I'll check here first.

It would be a nice new feature to add if it isn't already in.

It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). I've looked and looked and can't find a setting on the phone that would prevent this.

Recently, and it may be a coincidence that the phone automatically applied an android patch, I get a message when opening an email that is longer than 2 paragraphs of HTML text. The message says "to save data, this message was partially downloaded. And then there is a button to get full message. When I select that, I get an error that it is unable to fetch message body from server.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was working after lunch and noticed that my phone was getting hotter and hotter. When I looked at the screen it showed constant data up and down. I wasnt syncing anything or surfing but it wouldnt stop. I shut down and restarted and even did the software "Battery Pull" but soon enough it would start data again and the battery would be eaten up. It was on 4G. Then finally it would stop an hour or so later. If I start the music app again it starts all over. Here is a thread on another site where we are trying to narrow it down. They think it may be the media server as it shows a lot of data usage!
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo my turbo is set up nice, but when I decided to add in my google play music account, after entering my email it says it cant communicate with google servers. I tried removing my google account and readding to the phone, but that didnt work either. 2 step verification is not turned on with my account as well.
Apparently all I had to do was click on my email that was on the main screen. Telling it to add an existing probably confused it? But anyways, now Im curious because my google music settings show NO authorized devices. Is my phone not authorized anymore? My old phone was on there, but I deleted it from the list, now no devices are there....I mean, Im listening to music with it, and I can buy songs, so Im confused. Or is it a moot point because I only use a STANDARD account?
