When I had a Blackberry and you deleted a email you had two options:
1) Delete from local device
2) Delete from server and local device
Whith my Droid when I delete a email it still stays on server and therefore shows up as unread in Outlook.
Does anyone know if there is a way to delete email from my server when I delete it from my Droid 3? I had a Blackberry Tour before and there was a setting that allowed me to delete it from the server at the same time that I deleted it from the phone.It saved a lot of time.I can't seem to find a setting on the Droid 3 that will do that

Incoming messages sync correctly but messages I delete on the phone do not delete from the server. On the D1 the two-way sync worked correctly for emails deleted on the phone but I can't seem to get it to work on the D4.My settings for the corporate sync account are:Username: full @hotmail email addressPassword: passwordServer: m.hotmail.comUse secure connection: yesProxy: blankAnyone else having this problem? Is there a fix?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Razr. I love the phone. I use the email application that looks like an envelope with a "@" partially sticking out of it. It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). I've looked and looked and can't find a setting on the phone that would prevent this.

However, Cox is my primary...day-to-day...email and I can't get the account to set up correctly. I changed my user name for the outgoing server to just my name without the "domain@.com." I have even changed the ports according to some recommendations on the web. Nothing works.

We need an option/feature so that when you delete messages from the email server that they are removed from the phone. Having to redundantly delete messages from the phone that have already been deleted from the server is ridiculous.
The opposite is provided ... you can choose if you want to delete messages from the server when you delete them from the phone but the reverse needs to be provided as well.
Since upgrading, CorporateSync can no longer communicate with our MS Exchange email server at work. I am in I.T., and spent the moring with two co-workers troubleshooting this. We moved the phone into a test area with no policies, then turned on and off each policy, testing connectivity results for each one.The only policy preventing the phone from connecting to the server was, "Password Required". The phone can connect to the server only if a password is not required.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am brand new to the iphone (5s) and have a problem when I delete email from phone it also deletes it from the server and it's not available to on my PC inbox. I found the area in settings where it shows what happens to the deleted email on the phone and server. It sends the deleted message to the trash folder on both the phone and server. On the server, it shows all the various folders in my account including the inbox, but the inbox is greyed out and I can't change to that. Is there a setting somewhere where I can make it stay in my inbox on the server.Â
I was a Blackberry user before I just got the iphone and that is the way they handled the emails (not deleted from inbox on server).

The previous email app which is no longer supported by Lollipop allowed one to delete an email from the app without deleting it from the server (Comcast) if it was a POP account. This was handy because it removed clutter from my phone inbox but allowed me to read and reply to the same email on my desktop (POP email). Just now I read and then deleted an email (Comcast) from the GMail app and attempted to read and reply to that email on my desktop. Horrors. It's gone. It doesn't appear in my email client (Thunderbird) nor on the server.
I could not find any way to change that behavior in GMail under settings. The missing emails are in the trash folder on the phone but I couldn't figure out a way to transfer them back to the inbox or even less likely to get them back on the server. I will now, of course, be careful not to delete any email messages from GMail but I wonder if any way to change the behavior of the app?
My boss switched from blackberry to iPhone and is having difficulties with his email. He keeps EVERY email he receives on his computer, but does not want to keep them on his phone. Is there any possible way to delete an email off of the iPhone but keep it on the server? He uses Yahoo Mail & Novell Group Wise.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had the RAZR for a few days now, and one of the main things I used my last phone for (droid x) was to listen to music at work.I've been listening to music these past three days, and when I look at the battery use chart, there is something called "Mediaserver" using up a significant amount of battery life (~20% or more if I've listened to a lot of music). On my droid x I never saw this process on my battery use, and I am wondering if there is an option or something that I am overlooking that is increasing the amount of battery drain from listening to music.I listen to mp3s on the stock music app and to mp3 and m4a podcasts using Pocket Casts.I can't say for sure, but Mediaserver seems to not appear on the battery list until I start listening to music and to not increase the amount of battery that it uses while not listening to music.

So, when I purchased my Droid 2 last year, there was no problem importing them into the phone with the exchange server. But, when the number increased above 1500, I noticed that the phone only accommodates 1487. note that I don't import contacts from other sources like Google or a social networking site.

Is there a way to set up the Bionic so that I can delete them from the phone but leave them on the computer so that I can respond to them later?

Recently, and it may be a coincidence that the phone automatically applied an android patch, I get a message when opening an email that is longer than 2 paragraphs of HTML text. The message says "to save data, this message was partially downloaded. And then there is a button to get full message. When I select that, I get an error that it is unable to fetch message body from server.
