View 4 RepliesI can set up my account and send/receive emails with no problem using either pop or imap, the problem I have is trying to then modify the 'Server Settings' to set the 'delete from server' option under 'incoming settings'. When I select 'incomming settings', username/password, 'done', nothing happens, I'm just returned back to the original settings screen that I originally selected 'incomming settings' from. What is also suspicious is the option for 'outgoing settings' is not listed at all, when I look at documentation the option for 'outgoing settings' is there under 'server settings' but not on my phone it's not.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIf I have one of my IMAP accounts from work setup on my Galaxy s2 WILL a copy of the emails be left by default on the server once "downloaded" by phone. This so I can later go to my Outlook at work and see them also.I am asking this to double check and to be sure. I might be thinking in a POP3 mindset.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am looking for an email app that has a "delete all" button, I get heaps of emails each day and I find it very tedious selecting every message before clicking delete, so an app that had a select all button or a delete all option would be great, or any solution to this with the stock e mail app.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy 5S and have email set up. In my trash folder it shows that I have 1345 items but when I click on trash I cannot see anything in that folder. I am suspecting that these are "junk" emails but how can I get rid of them. It is now telling me that there is not enough space so cannot view any other emails. how to see these "trash emails" so that I can delete them? All of my other email folders are empty.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe is another "feature" of the SG-II's built-in email app that infuriates me regularly:Each time when the mail app reloads emails from the server, it deletes all previous mails from the inbox (be they read or unread). Thus, if one accidentally triggers two reload/refreshes in sequence (or has automatic mail downloads enabled) this causes the unread mails from (an) earlier refresh(es) to be silently deleted and to "disappear", before one has a chance to read them! This happened already a couple of times to me and this is really insane

When I had a Blackberry and you deleted a email you had two options:
1) Delete from local device
2) Delete from server and local device
Whith my Droid when I delete a email it still stays on server and therefore shows up as unread in Outlook.
I am brand new to the iphone (5s) and have a problem when I delete email from phone it also deletes it from the server and it's not available to on my PC inbox. I found the area in settings where it shows what happens to the deleted email on the phone and server. It sends the deleted message to the trash folder on both the phone and server. On the server, it shows all the various folders in my account including the inbox, but the inbox is greyed out and I can't change to that. Is there a setting somewhere where I can make it stay in my inbox on the server.Â
I was a Blackberry user before I just got the iphone and that is the way they handled the emails (not deleted from inbox on server).

The previous email app which is no longer supported by Lollipop allowed one to delete an email from the app without deleting it from the server (Comcast) if it was a POP account. This was handy because it removed clutter from my phone inbox but allowed me to read and reply to the same email on my desktop (POP email). Just now I read and then deleted an email (Comcast) from the GMail app and attempted to read and reply to that email on my desktop. Horrors. It's gone. It doesn't appear in my email client (Thunderbird) nor on the server.
I could not find any way to change that behavior in GMail under settings. The missing emails are in the trash folder on the phone but I couldn't figure out a way to transfer them back to the inbox or even less likely to get them back on the server. I will now, of course, be careful not to delete any email messages from GMail but I wonder if any way to change the behavior of the app?
how do you delete email trash that says it is on your server

I am coming from a Motorola RAZRMAXX to the Motorola Moto X Pure and have found all good for the most part. One thing I am attempting to do is to prevent email deletes on the handset from deleting email on the server account.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have googled quite a bit without finding a solution. I have an MS Exchange mail account which I set to manual sync. Works fine. I have also told the SII not to sync contacts from my MS Exchange account. However, if I search for a contact in my contacts list the SII also searches on my Exchange server--which creates traffic I do not want and a lot of hits since I work for a large company. Is there a way to tell SII not search for contacts on my Exchange server?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to run the android update it says "Searching for server" then report, "Server connection failure". This goes running though either wireless or 3g connection. The SII works fine downloading/uploading everything/everywhere else and on any connection, it has me baffled.
