How do I enable searching my email server in the default email client? I'd like to be able to search emails more than 5 days old without having to download hundred of emails to my phone.
View 2 RepliesS6 edge and the default mail app doesn't search the server, even when "search server" is selected after a search of the local mail store. It just returns "no mail found". any success in searching the server for older email? I haven't been able to find any other mention of it though. I had the employee install outlook and that works, but it would be nice if we could figure out how to get this working in the default mail app assuming it's not a bug. This is an exchange/office 365 activesync mailbox...

For instance, I'll change the default search engine to Bing. That tab will use Bing for searches. If I open a new tab or close and reopen the app, it will use Google for searches again.
I'm using the AT&T S6 with latest 5.0.2 firmware.
Has there been a change of search engine with safari because my default search engine is no longer google but yahoo Canada

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can set up my account and send/receive emails with no problem using either pop or imap, the problem I have is trying to then modify the 'Server Settings' to set the 'delete from server' option under 'incoming settings'. When I select 'incomming settings', username/password, 'done', nothing happens, I'm just returned back to the original settings screen that I originally selected 'incomming settings' from. What is also suspicious is the option for 'outgoing settings' is not listed at all, when I look at documentation the option for 'outgoing settings' is there under 'server settings' but not on my phone it's not.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI started using Gmail Exchange for my gmail account, its great however i lost the ability to "search emails on server" for example if "Rob" has sent me and email 2 days ago and still shows on my iPhone i can search for it, but if the email no longer sync with my iPhone and i need to hit "Search email on server" it doesnt find it, this feature was working with no problem when i was on imap, is it only me or is this feature broken on gmail exchange?

Android wastes so much of my time just searching "Phone storage" on the first pass, because 99% of my file transfers go to "SD card." Is there a way to set default to both?

Using 5.02 and the email client only syncs when I update the time period or incoming server settings. I have two other accounts, one pop and one exchange, that work without issue. This imap account won't sync. If I delete and reinstall it works for a while and then the problem comes up again.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi have a problem with my galaxy S5 ATT. so im using Netgear wireless n-150 router WNR 1000,its updated,but the problem was before the update and after the update it is the same. i'm using yahoo,gmail and comcast emails.i was able to setup yahoo email without any problems,i can send and receive emails from my phone when connected to wifi and without wifi. but i wasnt able to add to that stock email app my gmail account and comcast while i was connected to my wifi.it gave me error that it wasnt able to connect to the server to verify information.
So I tried to set it up on the mobile network and there was no problem. so now when i connected to wifi in my house i cant receive emails or send them using gmail and comcast email,yahoo account is working fine. i checked all the settings,i reset the router,still nothing.the funny part is if i download gmail app it is working without any problems.and if i connect to any other wireless router,all 3 emails work. also when i connect to my wifi, I'm getting internet and i'm able to open pages without any problems. So it should be some settings in the router probably ...
I'm not liking Bing very much, and I'd like to know how to switch the default search engine to Google. Or if it is possible. I have the 8530 with Verizon.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a new Bold 9700 a week ago.I got the synchronisation with my PC's Outlook working for calendar and contacts OK.Two days ago I set up the Blackberry so I could get my emails on it as well as the PC.Now when I go to synchronise, I get a message on the Blackberry Desktop Manager saying "The default service for your device's Calendar has changed since the last time you synchronised."Click OK to use your new default servicer and combine your data "."Click cancel to stop the synchronisation and revisit your default service options on your device."I have no idea why the default servce has changed (don't even know what it means) and what I should do. The calendar default service on the Bold shows my email address, so I guess it is something to do with my email setup.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5 running Android 5.0. I have two email accounts through my ISP. I set up both accounts set to "Delete from server" "Never". The alternative is "Delete from server" "When deleted from inbox."
When I get an email on my Nexus 5, if I delete it, it is gone from the server and when I log onto my computer at home I have no email. If I let the emails sit on my Nexus 5, download them to my inbox at home, then I can delete them from the Nexus 5 without losing them.The default seems to be to delete the message from the server when it's deleted from the inbox whether you choose "Never" or not.
Settings:
BB 8900 (replacement just delivered...and the problem below started)
Device OS 5.0.0.411
Device Manager 5.0.1.37
Default Services: <my primary email> (I also have a second BIS email attached, but the CICAL for that one has been deleted.)
After struggling for days to get rid of the Device Default calendar (in addition to the calendar associated with my primary email and which is set as default under Default Services), I finally got my whole BB calendar on to the one calendar it should be on: the one associated with my primary email. And lo and behold, the Device Default disappeared. hallelujah, I thought.
Having cleared out the calendar using Device Manager, I then opted for a one way sync from Outlook to my new BB with its one and only calendar now, the calendar associated with my primary email and listed as the default under Default Services.....
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. Recently the keyboard keeps defaulting back to the Samsung keyboard, rather than the Google keyboard which is my preferred option. I've reset the default in Settings repeatedly.

I have the gmail enhanced plugin if that makes a difference.Also on a totally unrelated note is there a way to search the gmail server from the gmail plugin app?
