I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. Recently the keyboard keeps defaulting back to the Samsung keyboard, rather than the Google keyboard which is my preferred option. I've reset the default in Settings repeatedly.
View 5 RepliesI don't like the native, default keyboard on the Electrify, so I downloaded MultiLing keyboard from the Android Market. I like the MultiLing keyboard, but I've had one issue that has come up in only the last couple weeks. I'll select the MultiLing keyboard as my input choice, but a short time later, the keyboard has changed back to the standard keyboard.

View 3 Replies View RelatedBefore the recent 5.1 lollipop update everything seemed to work fine for me, but after the update for some reason when I type a message in Hebrew (I have English US and Hebrew enabled) and send it, the keyboard switches back to English and then I have to manually swipe the spacebar back to Hebrew after each time I send a message. Before the update the keyboard language would stay on Hebrew after I sent a message in Hebrew. It seems that the keyboard is defaulted to English because when I bring up the keyboard to type something it always comes up in English.

I am having one problem with it that I can not seem to find any help or info for. I am using ring-tones I put on the SD card and every time I shut the phone off it sets the ring-tones back to default. I then have to set my ring-tones again. Does anybody know if there is a way around this? It seems like a stupid thing for the phone to do and its a little annoying.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI ticked a "remember this choice" for texting to one of my contacts that has more than one mobile number, so it became the default. I didnt realise that the choice also applied to phone calls. No problem I thought, just unmark it as default. But that doesnt seem to be an option, i.e. having set a default, the only choice seems to be to change it to another number not actually cancel altogether.The only way round it i could find is to add a new dummy number, mark that as the default then delete the number. Am I missing the obvious?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Sii gt-i9100g running ICS 4.03 (non-rooted). Recently I've been getting an error when applications try to update: "Application cannot be installed in the default install location".
So I checked my phone storage.
phone memory: 1.97Gb
Applications: 647mb
Free: 247mb
USB storage has about 10.5Gb available.
I uninstalled a few applications I didn't need on a regular basis and then the phone was able to update the installed applications successfully. I went in to application management and there's no option to move the installed applications to USB storage (I don't have an external SD card). So this raises a few concerns:
1: How come there's a mystery 1.1 gigabytes that isn't accounted for in the phone storage? I thought all of Android ICS was stored in that missing 4GB of USB storage memory...
2: If the phone doesn't allow further installations to phone memory when there's only about 200mb available, and if the phone has reserved 1.1 gigabytes for some hidden purpose, then is it true that without buying an SD card, we only really have about 700MB available for applications?!
3: Why isn't the option to move applications to USB storage available under ICS? I believe this was available in Gingerbread.
I'm new to the SII, but if its the case that this supposedly 16GB device only truly has 700MB available for apps without an External SD card, then I'm gonna be pretty angry.
Every time I try to download an app the phone says not enough storage available, but all the storage in the sd card is available. I need to make he ad card the main storage...

I use custom keyboards on my Atrix like the Gingerbread and Iphone keyboard.
As I go to the keyboard setting and set this custom keyboard as the default one, the phone has been working perfectly poping up whatever custom keyboard I defaulted for couple weeks until yesterday... the phone keep going back to the default Multi touch keyboard and won't remember the selected default keyboard for some reason..
My N900 has Scandinavian (Finnish) keyboard. After installing a couple of games(Duke nukem 3d and Abuse) and I think one of these probably crashed, it got left in US keyboard mode (I think). I see that there is a new file created called /home/user/int_kb_layout that has string "us" inside it. Just deleting this file and restarting the phone does not help. Searching around I find that perhaps some tool called /usr/bin/gconftool-2 might need to be used, but I got more confused. Therefore I might ask in general how one can get back their default keyboard maps for their N900?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've seen a couple comments here and there re: the Phonton keyboard being "difficult", and I think those comments are completely warranted when you consider the settings Motorola / Sprint use as the phone ships. They ship it with Auto correct OFF! I came to this phone after 4+ years of blackberrying. I knew the soft keyboard was going to be an adjustment, but with the Photon it was REALLY bad out of the gate. I'd type something, see that I miss-typed it, then I'd have to select the correct word out of the list above the keyboard (assuming it had some idea of what I was after). Very tedious... So I went poking around in the settings and saw they had a auto-correct setting and it was turned OFF!

Has anyone figured out a way to do this? know in the OS 4.6, there was an option when you go to your media files that said "reset default home screen" or something like that. But I do not see that on the 5.0 software.

I tried to go to options then Typing and Input>Keyboard just like Blackberry tells you to and supposedly there is a choice to change the default currency key, but I don't have that option when I go into the keyboard menu. Can someone tell me another way to do this or expain why the option to change the default currency key is missing from my screen when I go into keyboard options.

I'm not sure that i'm the only one with this issue, but I have a custom ringtone set for both my calls and my notifications. Now what happens is when i plug my phone into my pc and use it as a mass storage drive (at least I think its whats causing the problem) my ringtones automatically switch from my custom ones to the default ones. This gets to be really aggravating to have to change them both back everytime, especially since I have an additional silent ringtone for all the oter notification sounds that you cant turn off (facebook, e-mail, and plugging the device in to the PC) which may I add, is an issue within an issue but I can live with it. My files are in the internal memory, not on the SD card and in the default media/audio/notifications or ringtones.

When using my Edge or UC Browser I find that each time I press the BACK button on a page it sends me to the top of the screen I was previously on.
With my 920, and desktop browsers, when I press back it takes me to the location of the screen I was previously on. This is a huge inconvenience when the page I am browsing is long and I then need to scroll all the way back down to get to where I was before.
I also notice this to be the case on the Microsoft Sports app. The News app works properly but the Sports app, Edge, and UC Browser all exhibit this irritating trait.
