I use custom keyboards on my Atrix like the Gingerbread and Iphone keyboard.
As I go to the keyboard setting and set this custom keyboard as the default one, the phone has been working perfectly poping up whatever custom keyboard I defaulted for couple weeks until yesterday... the phone keep going back to the default Multi touch keyboard and won't remember the selected default keyboard for some reason..
My wife and I have identical ATRIX 2 phones just over a year old. Always has been some strange things happening staying connected to wifi network but that finally corrected itself on both phones
After ICS update in November i have to toggle Airplane mode on and off to get wifi connection back after a period of not useing it on my phone .
My wife was reluctant to update hers when I did as she doesn't like change. However over time her phone kept droping wifi network connection. I would have to power it down and remove battery and sim card to get it to stay on wif for a few days. Finaly that was no longer a fix. I went to a AT&T hotspot and downloaded the latest ICS update.on her phone No matter what I do it will connect to our network wifi and bring in mail etc for about ten seconds then the singal bars change from white to blue, The settings menue shows wifi still on blue connected but the signal bars shows blue. Her data use would indicate it is indee using cingular data.
I have the screen time out (settings->display->Screen Timeout) set at 15 seconds and the stay awake (settings -> appications -> development -> stay awake) checked but it will not stay on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got the Atrix 2 today, The Back lighting on the 4 soft keys on the bottom, settings, home, return and search, the backlighting doesnt always come on.. usually when you touch them or the display screen, they light up bright white.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI don't like the native, default keyboard on the Electrify, so I downloaded MultiLing keyboard from the Android Market. I like the MultiLing keyboard, but I've had one issue that has come up in only the last couple weeks. I'll select the MultiLing keyboard as my input choice, but a short time later, the keyboard has changed back to the standard keyboard.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've seen a couple comments here and there re: the Phonton keyboard being "difficult", and I think those comments are completely warranted when you consider the settings Motorola / Sprint use as the phone ships. They ship it with Auto correct OFF! I came to this phone after 4+ years of blackberrying. I knew the soft keyboard was going to be an adjustment, but with the Photon it was REALLY bad out of the gate. I'd type something, see that I miss-typed it, then I'd have to select the correct word out of the list above the keyboard (assuming it had some idea of what I was after). Very tedious... So I went poking around in the settings and saw they had a auto-correct setting and it was turned OFF!

I can uninstall any downloaded app but am unable to see how to uninstall any of the default apps. I can remove them from the desktop, but they will remain on the phone. How can these be removed from the phone and free up the storage they are using?

The prior gmail account I was using is beginning to be inundated with spam and it has got to go.After searching I've found this: go to home. Click grid. Click all apps. Click email. Enter a new email, pop etc. There is no option for anything of the sort and from that point the grid button doesn't do anything. This makes very little sense.Is my phone permanently associated with that gmail account? Can I drop it and add a new account or not?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter creating a hotmail account, leave out of email app and go to the home screen. Find phone settings/accounts/hotmail/other settings and you should see a option that say's, delete messages older than:, tap on this and a box drops down, choose to never delete messages and click on ok. A force close error will appear. When you manage to get back to home screen, the email icon doesn't open and show any emails from the hotmail account. You have to reboot the phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I connect my Atrix 2 to my car stereo via bluetooth, DoubleTwist comes up and immediately starts playing the last album I happened to be playing on it. I have several music players installed, and would like to configure the phone so another is the default. Any way to do this? I've tried browsing to a music file and pressing it to bring up the "Complete action using..." dialog, but the app I want to use (PowerAMP) is not listed among the choices. Am I out of luck on this, or just restricted to those apps that show in the popup?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have my atrix plugged into my car dock while driving and listening to music from it through the aux input on my stereo (through the charge lead) but when every I make or answer a call while driving, the sound defaults to the speaker on the phone and nothing can be heard. I have to press the "Speaker" button on the screen and then i can hear the person on the call without issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to GB, lost all my phone numbers in my contacts, but thankfully the special app worked and I retrieved them. I want to sync with gmail, but I must of choose the wrong default option, when you add a new one, it asks you gmail or motoblur, always use this choice.
I added a contact and it looks like its a motoblur contact, when I go into accounts motoblur has a lock symbol next to it (odd).
anyhow to the questions:
1) How do I change add contacts to use gmail, now that I do not have a choice when adding new contacts.
2) Is there a qucik guide to remote wipe.
3) Someone mentioned they used motoblur to find their phone, how can I do that?
4) How often does my contacts/books etc sync with gmail, can you increase/decrease it?
Is there any way to set the phone to download the entire email message by default? I hate having to click the button to download the rest of the message.

It is impossible to have every name in any database, so if I capitalize a word, it should just leave it alone. I have typed so many things on fb and elsewhere only to see a name of a person or place coming up something ridiculous after I put it up.

How can we change this to another filename mask, like "YYYY_MMDD_hhmmss xxx.jpg" (example: 2011_0801_091612 123.jpg) or any other format of our choosing?In addition, are there any other field masks that we can use beyond the YYY, MM and DD and time fields?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLike a lot of people, I prefer the Google keyboard over the Samsung one. Annoyingly, an icon appears in the notification bar whenever the Google keyboard is summoned. One way to get rid of this icon is to disable all other keyboards under Language and input -> Default keyboard -> Set up input methods. Unfortunately I've noticed that the Samsung keyboard keeps turning back on all the time.

The d escape key, control key, and several other keys that seem to be involved in the F5 key combination go dead.I have learned to trick it. I do FN-F5 and hit escape and keep hitting the combinations until escape works, then hit control-alt-d which seems to clear the issue.Is there anything I can do to stop it from going into this crazy mode.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy atrix works with the hd dock and saitek backlit usb keyboard fine. I also have a gigabyte bluetooth mouse thats works with the ocassional dropout. The problem is I just got a motorola bluetooth keyboard with trackpad and it doesn't work in webtop mode. The mouse portion of the keyboard works sometimes and then drops out, but I can't type anything. The caps lock light will not even come on. When I undock the phone the keyboard will work and then disconnects randomly. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. Hopefully this will be fixed with a software update.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have read help files about the default auto-kill option in the task manager. But it does't explicitley specify which apps can be added to the auto-kill list. I would like to way to know which of the stock apps can be added to the list. I have noticed that my battery usage for idle phone in the range of 30-35% (which I believe a bit high). May be the default apps I already have added to auto-kill are required by motoblur and hence started automatically, thus causing a loop.I have installed only 3 apps uptill now so i am sure they arn't causing this problem

Well I updated this morning and my keyboard no longer vibrates when I touch a key, or if it does it is barely noticeable. Is this intentional? Was a setting changed/re-set due to the update? Is there a way to control the amount of vibration when you push a letter? I am missing the space bar constantly because it doesn't vibrate.

View 3 Replies View Relatedthe querty keyboard backlight on my x10 mini pro keeps turning off in the dark or bad light. I can manage to keep the backlight on, while I am trying to type without it cutting out after about 2 seconds. Sometimes it won't even turn back on even after pressing a key.
