Motorola Atrix 4G :: Hd Dock And Keyboard W/trackpad Not Working?
Mar 22, 2012My atrix works with the hd dock and saitek backlit usb keyboard fine. I also have a gigabyte bluetooth mouse thats works with the ocassional dropout. The problem is I just got a motorola bluetooth keyboard with trackpad and it doesn't work in webtop mode. The mouse portion of the keyboard works sometimes and then drops out, but I can't type anything. The caps lock light will not even come on. When I undock the phone the keyboard will work and then disconnects randomly. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. Hopefully this will be fixed with a software update.

Jun 2, 2011I have had AT&T and my Motorola Atrix for a little over a month now. It was a day after my 30 days to return the phone when I noticed that I had a brown line going down the left side of my screen. When I brought the problem up to AT&T they wanted to replace the phone with one of there refurbished phones. I decided to keep my current phone since I just spent 200 dollars on the phone. Last night while charging the phone while it was powered down I noticed that the brown line had now turned green and was bigger but still just on the left side of the phone. I have completed checked for updates and the phones says "up to date". I am lost for what to do I love the phone and leaving Verizon was the best move I made.

Jul 23, 2011One minor thing I've noticed after the GB update is line of random blue and white pixels at the top of the battery usage screen. Both my Atrix and my daughters Atrix show this. Both show different random data in the line and it appears to change over time. Anyone know if this is intentional?

Been a couple times where I wanted to text something on different lines and didn't want to sit there using spacebar to get to a new line (waste of space/time). I know there are other messaging programs out there and that certain apps allow character returns (like Facebook for Android) because I'd rather have that than the stupid smiley faces...

Nov 13, 2011Just a suggestions for Moto, auto-correct should not automatically correct proper nouns. It is impossible to have every name in any database, so if I capitalize a word, it should just leave it alone. I have typed so many things on fb and elsewhere only to see a name of a person or place coming up something ridiculous after I put it up.

May 1, 2011I use custom keyboards on my Atrix like the Gingerbread and Iphone keyboard.
As I go to the keyboard setting and set this custom keyboard as the default one, the phone has been working perfectly poping up whatever custom keyboard I defaulted for couple weeks until yesterday... the phone keep going back to the default Multi touch keyboard and won't remember the selected default keyboard for some reason..

Jun 2, 2012Has anyone else had a problem with their Atrix while texting where the phone (or keyboard) adds a different letter arbitrarily while typing. In my case my phone adds the letter "Q" however its in lower case. I have removed battery and restarted multiple times. No better.

I do FN-F5 and hit escape and keep hitting the combinations until escape works, then hit control-alt-d which seems to clear the issue.Is there anything I can do to stop it from going into this crazy mode.

Feb 8, 2012I read that the update would "improve the keyboard functionality". Well I updated this morning and my keyboard no longer vibrates when I touch a key, or if it does it is barely noticeable. Is this intentional? Was a setting changed/re-set due to the update? Is there a way to control the amount of vibration when you push a letter? I am missing the space bar constantly because it doesn't vibrate.

May 14, 2011I have the Motorola keyboard and MS 5000 BT mouse. They each work well individually, however when used together, the keyboard frequently disconnects. When I go to a text field, the software/screen keyboard comes up instead of using the hardware keyboard. If hit a few keys on the hardware keyboard, then it seems to reconnect and I can continue using it. It disconnects again once I leave a text field. I'm using a 3G version of the Xoom, but without 3G activated, so just using WiFi.

Dec 3, 2011I've had this problem on and off since getting my Photon, but now I can't seem to fix it after power recycles, battery pulls, and uninstalling new apps.
When I press the microphone key on the keyboard to use voice dictation, all I see is the microphone with a red line through it and a message above that saying "Voice Initializing" and it just hangs there. I've let it do that as long as five minutes, but with no success. I can still use the Google voice search bar and the voice commands app, just can't do voice from the keyboard.

Dec 10, 2012I have the Atrix HD and the notification light is only working when I reboot the system, then once the system is on, the notification light no longer works. My original Atrix has a settings option to turn the notification light on/off, but the Atrix HD has no such settings option which was in the 'display' settings on my original Atrix. I then tried the 3rd party apps, such as Light flow, and LED tester etc... none work, even though Light flow overrides the phone settings its still not functioning. I even went through and rebooted the phone, and also w/a technician on the phone and the same thing. the notification light will blink green during system reboot, but after that, it ceases to function. This seems trivial but it's a huge help when im working w/all the msgs I get to determine if I get an important msg or not and one of the reasons I stuck with the motorola line. i've checked hundreds of forums, and spoke to various tech supports, and I cant seem to get a answer that works.

During a call, when asked to enter my phone number, passcode, etc., the keypad disappears every time I try to press a key. When I get a key to press it stays on long and disrupts the call I am on. It makes it difficult to use my phone to call in to call centers as I cannot press the numeric option I need.

Oct 17, 2011I bought a new work computer and tried using USB tethering with my Atrix. It installed the NDIS adapter but I was getting the infamous 169.x.x.x address. I decided to try it later since I was in a hurry.Now, the phone will not start USB tethering at all. I plug it in and the USB Tethering check box has a light green checkbox like it's turning on, but never changes. I have rebooted and pulled the battery. No change. What's strange is that I plug the USB in and when I go to the tethering screen the USB checkbox is already checked automatically. I seem to remember having to enable it manually before all this started.

Jun 15, 2011I first discovered that the camera is locked on fixed focus about a week ago when I tried to take a picture of a barcode. The camera takes good pictures as long at the subject is atleast 2' away. This camera actually does not auto focus or focus at all (do some tests yourself). The irony is that there is a "macro" mode under the scenes setting but that does not help either. I called Motorola and they seem to be aware that their phone which is advertised as having auto focus does not actually focus. They have no estimate on a fix for this problem.

Jul 23, 2012I have a shortcut on one of my homescreens to the News & Weather App (version 1.3.04) which was supplied with my ATRIX 4G. When I open the app, it used to come up with the weather for my location (which I have manually set with a zipcode), but lately it just says "Sorry, weather currently unavailable". If I scroll the screen to the left the other "News" tabs do display current content like they always have. Only the "Weather" tab seems not to be working. I've tried messing with the app's weather settings, but it doesn't seem to be able to find a location from a zipcode any longer. Again, this was not an app that I downloaded, so I can't uninstall and reinstall it. Force stopping and clearing data doesn't fix it either.

Oct 30, 2011I've had my ATRIX 2 about a week now, and the USB Mass Storage option for the USB connection has only actually worked two or three times of all the times I have connected my phone. The Windows Media Sync and Motorola Phone Portal settings usually (but not always) do work. I've tried just about every combination of installing/reinstalling drivers, trying different cables/ports, restarting the computer/phone, etc., but nothing works consistently.I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on my computer, but I'm pretty sure the problem is the phone since no changes on my computer affect the connection.
Totally aside from manually moving files to or from the phone, the Mass Storage option is the only one that works with any of the methods I have to sync my old iPhone playlists to my new phone (Motorola Media Link, Winamp, iTunes agent).Does anyone have any idea why this wouldn't be working consistently for me?
