I am having a very strange problem with the fingerprint reader. The problem started occasionally, but now is almost permanent. When at the lock screen, without even touching the sensor, I get the message "Swipe was too fast". It will instantaneously flash back to say "Swipe finger sensor", but usually flashes back so quickly to the "too fast" message you can't even see the "swipe" message. This pretty much prevents it from reading my finger swipes, although every once it a while I can break in.
I have tried many power cycles, pulling the battery, cleaning the sensor, all with no luck. In fact, I can do a clean power cycle, never touch the finger sensor at all, and when it finishes booting, it is already in the infinite loop. I even tried forgetting all fingerprint settings and re-registering, and most of the time as soon as I got to the screen to start reading my swipes, it would register all illegal swipes even before I ever attempted one. (After many tries, I was able to finally get through the re-register step).
To me it very much feels like a hardware issue with the sensor, but I'm wondering if anyone has seen anything similar as my searches have not turned up anything quite like this problem.
I have a fairly stock Atrix, build 4.5.91, with a decent share of apps, but no lauchers, lockers, task killers, and nothing in the auto-end list.
Seems like ever since I updated to GB, every morning when I wake up and grab my phone and swipe the fingerprint reader, it doesn't respond at all for the first 5, 6, or 7 swipes, or about 10 seconds. Then it will suddenly respond and unlock my phone. Just wanted to find out if anyone else is having a similar problem before I call tech support, and if you were able to fix it somehow.
A salesman in the store wanted me to try the Fingerprint Reader but I do not like it and want to go back to the swipe to unlock. How do you turn off the fingerprint reader? I am on Verizon if that makes a difference.
I have a Galaxy SM-G920A S6 fully stock that was on 5.0.2. I recently got a update OTA for it to 5.1.1. Of course this update failed to load for some reason. I then downloaded the stock update 5.1.1 unmodified firmware and flashed it via Odin. Worked perfect. Then I tried using it for my fingerprint and this error came up. I've tried rebooting of course. I tried resetting through recovery and wiping cache but it the error still pops up when I use anything related to the fingerprint reader.
Methods that I tried to use to Fix:I read on a past thread, that if you disable the fingerprint service in application manager and then reboot and then enable, it fixes the issue. I tried that and it was the same thing. I've been reading a few Xda threads and it seems like there is no real fix for this. This is the name of the file I installed: G920AUCU3BOI2_CL5527015_QB6363222_REV02_user_low_s hip
I just got a brand new Atrix and tried to set up finger print security. I got to the enrollment screen but nothing happened when I swiped my finger. No messages and no check boxes to tally the swipes. I looked at the forum and there was a long discussion about flakey fingerprint operation but many responses said that a reboot resolved the issue so I rebooted. Sure enough, now when I try to enroll, it recognizes a swipe but then gives the following error "Enrollment Error. You seem to have swiped a finger that has already been enrolled. Let's start over. Be sure to swipe a different finger." So I'm not happy right off the bat! The "Clear stored fingerprints" menu entry is greyed out, so it seems to have captured a fingerprint at the start but not recognized it, and now I can't clear it.
I've been noticing lately my fingerprint scanner getting extremely hot lately. Almost too hot to touch. I've wiped the phone and reinstalled the OS (Gingerbread 2.3.4) and all updates. I've cleaned the scanner with a q-tip and a small amount of rubbing alcohol. I'm not sure what else to try, or if I even should try anything else. Should I just file a claim or is this something that's not covered?
having issues with the fingerprint scanner after upgrading to 4.1.83? I was on 4.1.57, and did the upgrade to 4.1.83 yesterday. This has happened a 3 or 4 times now, where it will no longer register attempted fingerprint scans and I have to unlock with the swipe + numeric code fallback option. It just displays "Swipe finger sensor.", and no matter how many times I swipe my finger, it continues to display that message. I don't get a "Swipe was too fast" or "Finger did not verify...". It seems to just stop working. If I reboot the phone, it works again, until after a while it just randomly stops working again. I have a workaround, but I was curious if anyone else was seeing this behavior after a 4.1.83 upgrade. I found it strange, because the update doesn't mention anything about the fingerprint scanner, but of course that doesn't mean they didn't tweak something with that module.
Just curious what AT&T's thinking was behind the lack of a fingerprint scanner on this phone. For me, that's one of my favorite things about the Atrix. I must be in the minority on this I supppose.
Its simply is that when I press the fingerprint sensor to bring the screen on, it starts yelling 'Swap too fast/too slow' bla bla bla BEFORE any actual fingerprint scan and it keeps doing it until I pres the sensor again to turn screen off. Tried disabling and enabling it, cleaned the sensor hardware gently but nothing has helped so far........Its Atrix 4G (till 4G i assume all parts will already go, just 4G will be left) on gingerbread 2.3.4...GB version.
Would like to use scanner but don't understand why the security lock timer is disabled (greyed out) so I use the pattern instead so I can utilize the lock timer.
I've used the OS5 Blackberry Messenger to scan QR codes on my Bold 9700 and it worked great. Upload OS6 and now it just pops back to the Messenger screen. I've tried soft reboots and hard reboots without any success.
The doc and pdf reader not working on my c2-01 phone. The error displayed while opening a word file is not enough resources available. What can I do to rectify this condition?
just downloaded eZReader DOC PDF Lite for my X3-02 (v.06.00) and it doesn't work! When I choose to open either PDF or DOC files,it just says "unsupported file format".
Does anybody know a decent Freeware PDF reader (except Adobe PDF reader, Actually i don't want to pay for that otherwise its great) for 5230??? and i was also wondering why it (AdobePDF) is not installed by default in 5230? even it was present on n70, n73, n95 8GB, any thoughts?
I having trouble with the fingerprint ID! It will not work for me at all! Have to use the backup password about 99%!
I have an iPhone 6S and on the first setup of Touch ID; it works about 99.9% of the time! Not sure why the S6 is not working but I going to contact Samsung and see what they say! Not happy at all with the fingerprint scanner not functioning at all! Brand new phone too!
I spend about 2 hours and did all my fingers on my right hand and it just will not recognize any of them! I even clean my right hand with orange peel soap to get all the oils out of my hand and dry it with air until it was dry as can be but still no luck with the ID!
I have the Atrix HD and the notification light is only working when I reboot the system, then once the system is on, the notification light no longer works. My original Atrix has a settings option to turn the notification light on/off, but the Atrix HD has no such settings option which was in the 'display' settings on my original Atrix. I then tried the 3rd party apps, such as Light flow, and LED tester etc... none work, even though Light flow overrides the phone settings its still not functioning. I even went through and rebooted the phone, and also w/a technician on the phone and the same thing. the notification light will blink green during system reboot, but after that, it ceases to function. This seems trivial but it's a huge help when im working w/all the msgs I get to determine if I get an important msg or not and one of the reasons I stuck with the motorola line. i've checked hundreds of forums, and spoke to various tech supports, and I cant seem to get a answer that works.
I tried unlocking my AT&T Atrix 4g because, I'll be traveling for the next couple of weeks (I know I'm not supposed to do that), but I used the wrong code too many times, and now it's completely locked. For some reason I can't even use my AT&T SIM card in it any more.
I just got the phone. When the phone is straight up the letter g button does not work but when its sideways it works can anyone tell me whats going on.
in the last few days my fingerprint scanner has started to be quite picky. I've set it up with 5 different prints so I can unlock with either hand but recently it's not recognising any of my fingerprints. Today it;s working maybe one in every thirty attempts. I've removed fingerprints from the memory, when trying to re-add them it tells me to wipe the sensor/finger but both are clean.
A few months back I flashed xtrestolite to my g920i and have since flashed odex, deodex and several aroma versions in different combinations. Since the initial flash the scanner has not worked. Currently using the latest unikernal, though was using a different one when I first flashed. TWRP latest too.
When I try *#0* and try the sensor test I see "unfortunately, hwmoduletest has stopped working" lTrying to utilise the scanner will always show "an error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor, if this message appears repeatedly please restart your device" though restarting has never worked. I have not tried going back to stock as my carrier rom is 5.0.2 still.
I had locked my iPhone with my fingerprint and in my absence my friends tried to open my iPhone but as the fingerprint doesn't matched so they tried many times to open it ......So now the fingerprint scanner is not working...
I have searched everywhere for a solution to this problem and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing the sameproblem. During a call, when asked to enter my phone number, passcode, etc., the keypad disappears every time I try to press a key. When I get a key to press it stays on long and disrupts the call I am on. It makes it difficult to use my phone to call in to call centers as I cannot press the numeric option I need.
I bought a new work computer and tried using USB tethering with my Atrix. It installed the NDIS adapter but I was getting the infamous 169.x.x.x address. I decided to try it later since I was in a hurry. Now, the phone will not start USB tethering at all. I plug it in and the USB Tethering check box has a light green checkbox like it's turning on, but never changes. I have rebooted and pulled the battery. No change. What's strange is that I plug the USB in and when I go to the tethering screen the USB checkbox is already checked automatically. I seem to remember having to enable it manually before all this started.
Internal storage shows mounted but nothing shows up on android? Also when I plug in atrix to a computer the only thing that show up is the external sd card?
My home entertainment or media center is not working. It used to work and now it turns the TV to 720 but thats it, no pop up selection on the phone. Ive tried to force it using media share but that has no effect either.
Ive now tried it on 2x tvs and 2x monitors and Im getting the same problems.
