I have an 9520, and I find extremely difficult to send an sms to someone who isn't among my contacts.in fact, the keyboard doesn't allow to put numbers in the line "receiver" therefore, I have to set it to numbers... every number, it's awkward.i don't know if I made myself understood, I hope so
View 9 RepliesI just got a new BlackBerry Storm 9520 a few days again, and am now experiencing difficulties with the display.On the main menu (in portrait view) instead of showing application icons, it shows an oncreen keyboard which i cannot remove. Several times the keyboard has presented with jumbled letters and numbers, but then reverts back to QWERTY view.I am confused as to why this is happening.

I have also set up my email account from work to synch via the web exchange but not through the BES.I really want this option as I know it is the better way to be set up, we have BES set up on our work server I just need the option on my handset to do it!

I do like the threaded messages - very handy - but I'm old and my eyes aren't what they used to be. Using the Admiral on the Sprint Network. Unless I'm missing something, it would appear that this phone did not come pre-loaded with a virtual keyboard. I use a LogMeIn Ignition to remotely access our work computers from the phone, but when I need to type numbers they don't register from the physical keyboard. Ignition has a softkey to bring up the virtual keyboard, but since one was not pre-loaded on the phone it doesn't pull anything up. I installed a couple of different virtual keyboards from the Market, but still no luck. Is there an update that includes a virtual keyboard as part of the operating software package? This app works fine on my Android tablet, pulls up the virtual keyboard and the numbers register.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI think I'm going a bit crackers, I have a Blackberry Storm 9500 on Vodafone PAYG, and cannot for the life of me work out how to save a contact from a new SMS. I tend to give out my number, people text it so I have theirs, but saving them as a contact from the initial text is proving impossible.
I have tried C&P, doesn't work on anything other than the text fields within the messages themselves, so if they don't type their numbers in the actual text, I can't save them. There is no option to save them in the Blackberry button menu, just to call or SMS them. There is nothing at the top of the conversation that is "clickable", there is just the little person icon and the number, clicking either does nothing, it doesn't select. Same with the number at the beginning of each subsequent text from them - doesn't select, can't use the highlight/copy function on them.
I know there is the long way round, to write the number down then input them but this seems like such a basic function there must be a way to do it directly? If not I think this along with the other function issues (short battery life, regular freezing, low grade MP3 player functions) are going to make me swap it for something else. Shame as I still think the click touch screen phone is ideal for me personally.
I'm leaving a company that said I can keep my phone (S1), but they want the number. I don't have a personal account w/Verizon yet. How can this be done? I don't know if they are planning to use the # right away, but it's associated with them.

But im pretty sure thats not true.So I want to add a line with iPhone 4 then once I receive her, put it on my primary line, use a dummy phone on the new line, and cancel data on the new line. It works out because I need a new line anyway, I have unlimited data on my primary line, and it saves me some $$ in getting the iPhone at full discount price.
The only thing I was worried about was being able to cancel data, but the ATT rep said I can cancel data at any time. And to order online, I would need to add the single line to my account and order it, once I receive it then I can switch to family plan.Will I need to do the same call ATT and give them IMEI's of everything to swap? I did work for the first few days and this one was shipped with .607 and was not a refurb. I tried all the usual fixes including deleting BBM which I found that I couldn't delete it.
