i've just bought my Motorola Atrix from SingTel Singapore yesterday, it doesn't work from my home WiFi hub! But my iPhone has no problem at all. I plan to go back to the Carrier tomorrow to ask for change to another phone, most likely iPhone.

View 15 Replies View RelatedFor the last several weeks neither the WiFi nor the Bluetooth will turn on. When selecting to turn on WiFi is starts to turn on then stops and displays Error. About 75% of the time after attempting to turn on the WiFi the phone will reboot. I have factory reset the phone and the WiFi and Bluetooth will work once after the reset but once the phone sleeps neither WiFi nor Bluetooth will operate. This is even after a power down. I have checked my settings and can't find anything that would cause this.

My iphone, ipad and home computers did not exhibit this behavior. I was thinking of trying the phone again after the new maintenance updates but it looks like this is still an issue. I wanted to bring this to the attention of Motorola. The following thread at XDA shows that many people are having this issue.

I tried the router people (their "fixes" did not work), AT&T couldn't help, Motorola couldn't help and I even took my phone to Best Buy where I purchased it and their fix worked for a bit now I can't get it to work. There is a way to change the security settings and I can't get back there. Of course I found it by accident before and now I can't get back there. I am connected and can't use the browser. This is starting to tick me off!! I have had this phone 2 weeks and no solution to the problem. The thing is I can connect to my work WEP but not my home router.

I have my passwords correct. I have a tablet and iphone that connects to the Netgear N600 without any issues.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Atrix for a couple of months now and I noticed this problem back within the first 30 days but thought it was an issue with our network at work..ie the wrong password. After getting our tech guys to set the right password I have tried to connect to the WiFi at work but it gets to the point of obtaining an IP address and disconnects. I know the password is right because my co workers newish laptop will connect and another coworkers Iphone 3GS will connect.
My Atrix will connect at home, Applebees guest and the local hospitals guest connection. The work connection is secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK according to my phone. It's a small work place and really the only person that would every use the connection would be me and honestly I'm a little peeved that I can't get it to connect. The routers are probably about 3 years old so I'm not sure what that would have on them but they should work just fine with this phone. I can't really log into the routers and change anything there because of some other things that are networked into the system. Are there any setting I can change in my phone that might force it to work?
After a weekend of operation I tried to turn WiFi on only to have it turn itself off after 15-30 sec. It happened 3 times before I powered down and back up, that fixed the problem. It may be a memory leak as the phone had been on for 3 days, or maybe it was related to the fact that it had gotten to a low battery state over the weekend and it turned off some services to save battery and didn't turn them back on after it was charged. I have very few apps loaded and dont think thats the problem, but I did use Googles navigator this weekend for the first time since I updated to GB.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my Atrix 2 days ago, I brought it home and connected to my home wifi with no problem. Downoaded the 1st of 2 updates/upgrades and after installing it, I was no longer able to connect to it. "Obtaining IP address" was all it displayed until disabling it and connecting to one of my neighbour's unsecured, poor signal, on and off connection.I've tried the tech people at Bell Mobiity and even my internet provider and they are clueless.Everything else in the house connects without issue, including my old blackberry bold 9000, xbox, 3 laptops, tv, etc. Just not my Atrix.I've rebooted the router several times, renewed WAN settings, switched to static ip. I've also pulled the battery for 2+ minutes, rebooted the phone, told it to forget, then re-entered the password to try to reconnect. Nothing.I also don't have any issue connecting to other wifi networks. Just the one in my house.

I have had it off for a couple of days now and in the battery usage screen I still see it reported as on most of the time. In addition it seems to be using as much as 10-15% of my battery even though I don't have it on.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy WiFi settings are checked for WiFi to never sleep; however, when my screen is off and the phone is on Standby, after a short while the WiFi disconnects. When the screen is turned on, the WiFi again connects. I assumed that the Advanced WiFi setting of "Never Sleep" would prevent this allowing me to remain connected on Skype etc. while on Standby. Does this indicate a problem with the phone or am I missing something?I have done a factory reset but the problem still persists.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been on the phone with Motorola Support, AT&T, and my ISP... no one seems to be able to figure out why this is happening. It's all but shy of disconcerting that their only "solutions" are to a.) find a attwifi hotspot to see if it still does it or b.) trade it in for a new one.
Okay, so I tried the first solution. Drove to McDonald's... no avail. Wouldn't even connect at all. I also tried a master reset, tweaked my wifi router settings, and still standing not even 20 feet from the router it still disconnects constantly. At best, it stays connected for 30+ minutes, and that's when I'm actually talking on the phone.
I have noticed ever since i've gotten my Atrix that the wifi is always getting dropped when im inside a bedroom or some 20 ft away from the router. At first i thought it might have been just my router having issues but my laptop never experienced any wifi droppage like that though. The only times i don't get dropped signals are when im actually right infront of my router
I've read that sim-unlocked devices may experience this issue but mine isn't, or at least i don't think it is. I bought it from n AT&T store and im pretty sure they wouldn't sell an unlocked device, ever...
So my question is then, has anyone found a solution to this? I mean it's starting to become a real big hassle having to wait for my connection to come back up so i can continue using my phone
My brother also bought an Atrix lest than a month ago and its having the same issue so i have no clue if either both our devices are defective or if its a general issues most users are having, cause if so, i think Atrix users should either get a refund or at least an update to fix this issue.
I was just curious to know if this is considered a known bug / will be fixed in the gingerbread update.After using wifi and walking out of the wifi zone (eg, out of my house and down the street) I will check my phone to find that the mobile data connection has not re-started itself, and only a reboot will fix this issue. Other issues have been my phone will get stuck only being able to upload (and not download the resulting pages/data) as well as the symbol disappearing completelyafter a little bit of research I found this may be a problem with 2.2.2 froyo and for my sake I hope it is, but I was just curious to make sure it is fixed in future updates.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Atrix HD for a couple of months, and am generally quite happy with it. The biggest problem I'm having with it is how fast the battery drains when I'm not connected to WIFI. Most of the time I am on WIFI either at work or home. When on WIFI the battery lasts 12 hours or more easily with reasonable use. However, if I'm on the road or out somewhere not connected to WIFI, the battery will drain very quick. For example, yesterday I unplugged my phone at about noon and was at home all day. At 9pm it still had 60% charge. I then left home for the evening, and by midnight the phone was dead. I didn't even make any calls, only checked an address on Google Maps. I did notice the phone was pretty warm during that time.
I've tried turning off WIFI and Bluetooth when I'm out, it doesn't help. It doesn't seem to matter if the phone is on an LTE network or not, as far as I can tell. I had an Atrix 4G previous to this, and never noticed a difference in battery consumption whether I was connected to WIFI or 4G, it seemed pretty consistant.
Ive always had my wifi on that way when i enter a saved network or att hotspot it switches to wifi and i save on data useage. Well, sometime after the gingerbread update my wifi stopped working correctly. It would be on and show the wifi symbol but when two saved network locations, it would "connect" to the network but no data was being sent or recieved. I even tried it on an att hotspot and no luck. The wifi turns on fine and says it is connected but it hasno signal as indicated by the grayed out wifi signal bar. Now i read something that said to put the phone in airplane mode and thenturn wifi on and it should work fine, well i did that and it works as long as i stay in airplane mode. I dont see this as a fix but instead as only more evidence to an apparent problem. What good is wifi on a phone if i can only use it when the phone can no longer work as a phone.

Have an Atrix 2, ive had this phone for about 3 months now and since last month ive been having with the wifi turning off by itself, or shows being connected and its not. Now at first i tought it was my router, so i got another one and still the same thing. it does this not just at home but to any wifi network. im pretty sure this is a hardware related problem, however it could be software also, i have gotin noware execpet from Moto Send your phone in, so in about 2 to 3 weeks ill have it back with no way of having a phone, plus ill still have to pay at&t, second at&t have never hered of the atrix 2 having wifi problems and offered to exchange the device for my warrenty deductable of $150.00, what should i do, i would also like to here from the community to see if there are anyone else with the same problems se we can address these to Motorola and At&T.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a few problems with the Atrix 2 and curious if others see these things.First...I really like this phone. I like the size, the weight, the speed, the apps, etc. was annoying enough that I decided to use my bluetooth headset. The sound improved immeasurably by doing that. But, I noticed that while at work, listening to music, that I couldn't turn on wifi while I had bluetooth engaged. The music would haltingly play, like a skipping disk, until, finally, after about 30 seconds it stops altogether. As soon as I turned off wifi, the bluetooth playing would reengage where it left off and play perfectly.I also notice that with the plugged in mic or with my bluetooth headphones connected, if a call comes in while I'm listening to something, about 1/2 the time, the phone wouldn't ring or vibrate.

After ICS update in November i have to toggle Airplane mode on and off to get wifi connection back after a period of not useing it on my phone .
My wife was reluctant to update hers when I did as she doesn't like change. However over time her phone kept droping wifi network connection. I would have to power it down and remove battery and sim card to get it to stay on wif for a few days. Finaly that was no longer a fix. I went to a AT&T hotspot and downloaded the latest ICS update.on her phone No matter what I do it will connect to our network wifi and bring in mail etc for about ten seconds then the singal bars change from white to blue, The settings menue shows wifi still on blue connected but the signal bars shows blue. Her data use would indicate it is indee using cingular data.
I have been searching the internet for solutions for my Wi-Fi constantly disconnecting since the 2.3.6 update. I am hoping that the next update will fix it, but I am worried. My warranty will be expired by the time it comes out.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIf Wifi drops or I turn it off, the remaining icons go white, and then if you go to settings, about phone, status, the phone states UMTS and then switches to HSPA, and it states on network "Connecting, or Disconnected" A power Cycle will sometimes help. If I turn wifi back on, I have a Blue wifi, white H+, and a Blue Network Signal strength.
