Motorola Atrix 2 :: No Call Support When Wifi Enabled
Feb 1, 2012
I'm having a problem when I enable wifi, the phone switches to 4G (in the status bar) and has 1 bar, but then I cannot make or receive calls. If I disable wifi for data, then the phone switches to 'E' (in the status bar) and has 4 bars. I can then make and receive calls.
Under "Menu" then "Call Settings", does "Text Message Reply" work when enabled?Supposedly if you press the power button when a call is coming in, the call will be ignored and you will receive the option to have a "canned" text message sent to the ignored caller. When I press the power button while an incoming call is ringing from a mobile number, my screen goes dark, i.e. I get no prompts to select one of the text message responses and send it. When I wake the phone, I have a missed call indication in the notification area and that's all
Tried to share music from my atrix with my vaio laptop using the s/w already installed on the phone but did not work.Is there special drivers or extra s/w needed to make it work.
Got sneak update to the stock music player? My player got stuck with shuffle enabled and hitting the shuffle button would shuffle the play queue and there was no longer anyway to disable shuffle. After reboot, it fixed itself but the shuffle button still shuffled the play queue. That said, I like the change. The shuffle function had an amazing number of repeat songs. Now you can go through a whole playlist without getting a repeat.
Today I was at a job site and had to borrow a phone charger from a friend with a D2G. I had wifi enabled and my phone was down to 60% but after approximately 2 minutes, the phone would stop charging. I tried two other non-Motorola USB chargers, one (not made for cell phones) didn't work at all, the other had the same problem.
Wtiuh Wifi turned off, the phone charged normally.
Went to tether my Bionic to my laptop this AM and realized I didn't have a USB cable with me. I called VZW to get the wireless hotspot enabled on my phone for a couple days. Check. Went to settings to turn on the Hotspot. Nothing. nada. zip. Got a message saying it was retreiving the agreement, and then got a message that said I needed to call VZW to enable the feature. But I just did that. Reboot the phone. Try again. Same thing.Call VZW back, they verify I was indeed provisioned for hotspot, and tell me to reboot the phone. Still doesn't work. Get handed off to a technician.Reboot the phone again. No go. Turn the Bionic off and pull the SIM. Re-seat the SIM, boot up the phone, still no hotspot.I'm now almost 90 minutes into trying to get my Bionic's hotspot feature to work (because I wanted to avoid a trip to buy an overpriced USB cable). Tech says we'll have to do a hard reset. I decline and tell him I'll add this feature to my list of disappointments with my Bionic. He asked if there was anything else I needed, and I said the release date for the ICS update, but of course, they couldn't help me with that.
Music cuts in and out reguardless of what player I use while the WiFi hotspot is enabled. I turned WiFi hotpspot off and music played as it should. Pandora, Tunein radio, mp3's... anything media wise it appears.bIt also appears this only happens while listening via a bluetooth device - in my case a Motorola T505.
Is there a projected date when this update will be available? I only got this phone because it was going to be released. Unchained, as it were. I'd really like to start developing apps, etc., and I can't do that while this thing is locked down. I'm reluctant to unlock or root it, because of the warranty and support implications.
We need Indic Language support on Atrix. Its a great phone, but neither Android nor Motoblur has added support for Indian language fonts (like Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telgu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, etc.). Its about time Motorola take it upon themselves to resolve this issue. This is one key issue that will stop millions of Indians in the US and all over the world from getting this phone.
Will there will international locale support with the Gingerbread update? I'm from Singapore, and my set has no Simplified Chinese locale available for selection in 2.2. add support for Asian languages in the next update.
how to get Arabic/Farsi fonts and language support.
Getting the input/keyboard for these languages is not an issue as there are many apps available on the market, however the fonts for Farsi/Arabic are not rendered properly and they are all disjointed.
good app that you know will allow proper rendering of these fonts on emails, sms, webpages and apps (like facebook)?
I read on Skype's website that Tegra 2 devices such as the Atrix can't do video calling because the chipset doesn't have NEON technology support. Is this something that can be changed with a software update, or is this something that Tegra 2 devices will never be able to have?
For the last several weeks neither the WiFi nor the Bluetooth will turn on. When selecting to turn on WiFi is starts to turn on then stops and displays Error. About 75% of the time after attempting to turn on the WiFi the phone will reboot. I have factory reset the phone and the WiFi and Bluetooth will work once after the reset but once the phone sleeps neither WiFi nor Bluetooth will operate. This is even after a power down. I have checked my settings and can't find anything that would cause this.
Anyone know when Gingerbread is released for the Droid X if it will support configuring a Proxy Server for WiFi? I noticed Motorola just recently provided an update for the Droid Pro to allow proxy settings. This sure would be helpful for those of us using the DX for business.
so I have a GB 2.3.4 Atrix 4G, and usually, it plays my music and takes pictures fine. But every so often (it seems everyday), I wind up rebooting after, when trying to player music, it says "sorry, this type of file is not supported," even tho I've been playing them all the time. Also, when this happens, the camera and camcorder also happen to stop working, saying "com.camera.android (or blur)" unexpectedly closed. All my songs are MP3 or MPEG4, and usually all play.
Why is this happening on an update? What can be done to prevent it? Are there apps I need to keep off the "auto-end list?" Does rooting a phone bring this on (via pre-install method)? Or is this a common glitch? I have also complained about the way the music player doesn't have an "all songs" option for the player. Personally, I think a blur 5.0 needs to come out already.
I am curious if there's a way to keep the built-in headset speaker enabled while the phone is connected via Bluetooth, even if this means downloading an app.
I tried to enable call barring/restriction function but whenever I enter password (for the first time), I always get error message: "unexpected response from network".
So I had the pleasure to setup my brand new Lumia 950 XL (Single SIM unlocked, CV Germany, but provider T-Mobile DE, build 10586.0) today. After the first hours of installation I was able to actually use it and really begin to like it.
But I already came across a major issue. It might be hardware related, but I assume it is software: While making a call (even tuned down to 2G only, Wifi and NFC off, no special apps installed I suppose), the connection gets quiet within a minute or so after enabling or starting with bluetooth, and the phone reboots some seconds later. I do not even need a device to be connected, the scanning for it may be sufficient. The dialog partner sometimes also reports very bad sound quality before it happens.
This message "Call Forward Conditional is enabled" appears everytime when making a phone call (screenshot attached).
Looks like it is related to the setting here: Settings > Call Settings > Call Forwarding > "Forward when busy" or "Forward when unanswered" or "Forward when uncreachable." I have them set to carrier's voicemail #.
One of my friend gifted me Blackberry verizon 9630. I subscribed vodafone bb services Rs.599 plan. Vodafone said BB services activated on 20th May 2011. From that date i tried to configure the same, But in vain. The following methods i tried, Host routing table ->Register->registration message sent->then i pulled out the battery and SIM card and again i repeated. Till date i did it nearly 100 times. subsequently i spoke to vodafone chennai. No proper response from them. I can make a call and receive . Also i can send and receive SMS. But Data Services i can't .
I have been having an occasional problem with my Motorola Atrix 4G when making cell phone calls. The phone not only disconnects from the person I am talking to, but powers down as well. If it just disconnected I could immediately call the person back, but instead, I have to go through the power on sequence and then call the person back which takes considerably longer.
I use my Atrix 4G on AT&T to make calls and use my Motorola S305 Bluetooth headset. The problem is, Atrix does not let me do any browsing as long as I am on the call. I have the same problem when I am using the speaker phone too.
Had my Atrix 2 for a week and some times when I answer the phone no one is there. They can hear me perfectly well but my phone is dead quiet. Yes I've checked to make sure I haven't accidently hit the mute when answering. There is just no sound coming from the phone. Only a battery pull while powered on will restore the speaker function.Doesn't happen all the time, just enought to be annoying. Had taken back a SGS2 for this phone so I am stuck on this model and frankly I like it way better.AT&T didn't have any answers other than just hard reset it.
Since I got my Atrix about two months ago, I have had several issues that I have seen posted and am still awaiting a fix. Like horrible call signal when iPhone has no problem, security lock timer, voice quality from my handset, but I have not read about this other one with the Incoming Call. This issue is very random for me, but when people call me, usually I get their image in the middle and what looks like the lock screen, with one bar on left and right that can be swiped to answer or hang up. This is the screen that I get maybe 75% of the time, but every so often I get another Incoming call screen that doesn't have the bars that swipe, but at the very bottom it has two large buttons, a green one to answer and a red one to ignore. I know not a big deal, you either swipe or press a button right? Well it also affects the ringtone, when I get the slider buttons, the ringtones work fine, but when I get the buttons, it uses the original default ringtone, not even the default ringtone I have setup on the phone. I don't have any other dialer or call log app installed, I just set up my ringtones in settings and choosing individual users. Anyways, I like the button screen dialer, better than the default swipe one, but is there a way I could set a default and not get different incoming call screens.
I have tried many apps from the market, but it does not record the conversations of the call. Is any application or any way to record a call in this phone. Running on Android 2.3 still.
Immediately after the phone connects to the Bluetooth built in car phone, the "bluetooth in-call volume" of the phone goes to 0. I can't hear a caller until after this volume is raised. I can only adjust it during a call using the volume control on the phone. It stays at that level until the BT disconnects, but the volume is again 0 after reconnecting. Is there anyway to permanently set this volume level? It is a complete pain otherwise. If I can change the volume before a call, not only during, that may be acceptable.More info: I have a Motorola Roadster external phone headset, too, and it doesn't behave this way. The car manufacture claims it is the phone that sets the volume not the car. The car has the latest firmware.
