Motorola Atrix :: Locale Support In Gingerbread Update?
Sep 22, 2011
Will there will international locale support with the Gingerbread update? I'm from Singapore, and my set has no Simplified Chinese locale available for selection in 2.2. add support for Asian languages in the next update.
Anyone know when Gingerbread is released for the Droid X if it will support configuring a Proxy Server for WiFi? I noticed Motorola just recently provided an update for the Droid Pro to allow proxy settings. This sure would be helpful for those of us using the DX for business.
I have a Middle East Region Motorola Atrix with froyo 2.2.2 As Gingerbread is released in US few days back so Can anybody tell me when NON US ATRIX phones are supposed to be updated to Gingerbread and do i have to update it through Software update tool or OTA update.
Before the update, my gallery used to be able to sort by folders that I organized through computer. However, after the update it seems like the gallery put all my pictures in the same folder and can only be sorted by date, name, etc but not by folders.
Is there a way to display in folders with the stock gallery? I think the new gallery update is so inconvenient!
One thing my phone used to do flawlessly before the Gingerbread update was play music. I use Pandora, Google Music, Amazon music, etc and they all worked perfectly before the update.
Since the update listening to music has become a painful experience. Audio has become extremely glitchy to the point where its unlistenable (sputtering, skipping, etc if you are familiar with an Xrun that is how I would describe it). Usually this happens when I'm listing to music while working in other apps (ie, scrolling through a feed in tweetdeck) but it sometimes happens when playing music is the only thing I'm doing with the phone.
Is there a projected date when this update will be available? I only got this phone because it was going to be released. Unchained, as it were. I'd really like to start developing apps, etc., and I can't do that while this thing is locked down. I'm reluctant to unlock or root it, because of the warranty and support implications.
since at&t started pushing gingrbread updates, many users have posted their issues with gingerbread. I have downloaded the updated but fortunatelly (?) have't installed it. I am perfetly hapy with my standard, non-rooted atrix with 2.2 the way it is, no bugs, no issues. However, I am also for the latest and greatest. So, before I install the update i would like to know if there is any way for downgrading back to froyo just in case GB gives me any trouble.
My phone call volume is fine but media playback volume is WAY too loud! Even with the phone volume and headset volume at the lowest it's too loud. This has only been a problem since the Gingerbread update. I tried the H17 on another phone and it works fine. Definitely a post Gingerbread issue.Anyone else have issues with this model headset or any other since the update?
Andriod: 2.3.4 - System Version: 45.31.2.MB860.T.Mobile.en.GB
Upgraded to Gingerbread on: Six/Months ago
Problem Discription: After reset of phone (soft i assume , via privacy > reset) The status bar (blue, top bar) came fine but disapeared after a minute (default/built-in launcher).
a) Did a reset again to see if it works - but no
b) Researched over internet & some genious mentioned its due to email.......Deleted btconnect email from motoblur, restarted. - it worked
c) Added an email acoount today again via Motoblur accounts>add account....account added fine bt status bar disappeared.
d) Installed go launcher EX & installed their email widget - noticed no disappearnce of bar but that widget seems not updating auto email/auto sync
All was working fine till two days ago before reset of phone. Not seems related to upgrade as it was done more than six months ago & there was no such issue. (this is the fisrt phone reset done on gingerbread though)
I am having the following significant corporate sync issues with Contacts and Calendar after upgrading my Atrix to Gingerbread 2.3.4. 4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en, Calendar events entered on Atrix do not show up on Outlook (exchange server) through corporate sync. Events entered on Outlook do show up on Atrix. Events originally entered in Outlook and then modified on Atrix disappear in Outlook although they remain on Atrix. When I add a picture to a contact on the Atrix the "file as" disappears in Outlook. When I add the "file as" back to the contact in Outlook the picture disappears from the contact on the Atrix. This is very annoying as I rely on the pictures associated with the contacts for phone, emails and messaging. In addition this makes it difficult to find my contacts in Outlook.
After upgrading to Gingerbread I'm noticing that playing music via media players causes my Atrix to either lock up or spontaneously reboot. This is happening even after a factory reset. This had so far occured with Winamp (which I haven't reinstalled since my factory reset), Amazon MP3 and Google Music Beta. This has occured both while I was listening to the music on my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone ICON) and also just playing it back via the built-in speaker.
just updated to gingerbread and this new icon showed up. it looks like a phone and a simplified keyboard right under it.... tried searching for atrix status icons and gingerbread status icons but didn't see this one on there.
I just updated my Atrix 4g with Gingerbread 2.3.4 and it fried my contacts lists. I had over 150 phone numbers that were trashed to 34 and some of these were even munged. Is there any way to recover my phone number lists? The update even stated in one screen that the contacts would not be touched, but I now have no groups and mostly suspect phone numbers.
Forums all over the web and in here at motorola web are filled with issues faced by customers after upgrading atrix to gingerbread 2.3.4 & I am wondering now is it worth asking for upgrade/upgrading/updating to gingerbread really.? My personal experience with Atrix on froyo 2.2.2 with lapdock is not bad i.e. battery is good, network & wifi is good, movies playing in wide screen mode.So I am asking what the benifits of updating/upgrading to gingerbread are actually. I only know one i.e. I tried to download Asphalt6 for atrix and it mentioned I need 2.3.4 to run this HD game(but then i came to know that it is not released for Tegra2 processor yet).
The Copy and Paste Function in Froyo was bad already. It is extremely difficult to highlight text in webpages. Ever since the Gingerbread update, the highlighting and copy & paste function is totally broken and unreliable. I can hardly able to select the text I want to highlight or able to move the cursor around. I am very dissapointed in this Gingerbread upgrade.
When downloading stuff from the NEW market app, i get the error "insufficient space available" after i installed the radio that comes with gingerbread N_01.77.30P
I don't think i had this issue with an older radio. I will revert to the older market until a solution is available
I have a Atrix Gingerbread phone and before I updated it was rooted. When updated it broke the root and left residual programs from rooting on my phone. Is there a way to do a complete fresh install of Gingerbread on my phone. I am not talking about a hard factory reset. I want to wipe it completely then reinstall it.
After the gingerbread update I found that the proximity sensor would quit workng and the only solution was to restart the phone. I found that using bluetooth caused this behavior (repeated several times) by getting it to fail (although not every time) using the following sequence.
1. Power down and restart the phone (so that it was in a known state)
2. Call voice mail to confirm that the proximity sensor was working
3. Turn on blue tooth.
4. Turn off blue tooth. (didn't use it in between other then to connect with headset)
5. Call voice mail and proximity sensor would not work.
6. Cycle power on phone
7. Call voice mail and proximity sensor would work.
My solution was to quit using bluetooth and have not been using since the first week I updated to gingerbread. I did have the sensor quit working one time since but didn't think much of it until my daughter-in-law told me she had the same problem and she doesn't use bluetooth but she does use the speaker phone much more than I do. I believe that both speaker phone and bluetooth functions disable the sensor while in use. Is it possible that it is not always getting re-enabled? I have seen other posts concerning the proximity sensor not working but have not seen a tie to bluetooth use.
After upgrading to 2.3.4 my battery is drained from 100% to about 5% in about 3 hours. I noticed that data is constantly being sent and received. It seems if I change my emaill devlivery option on corporate sync email accounts from push to a periodic time, things gets much better. If I delete all but 1 coorporate sync email account battery life also returns to something tolerable. I am not receiving a lot of emails (less than 20 emails messages during the time). It seems as though multiple corporate sync emails accounts was broken in Gingerbread in a way that push email is not practical as battery is consumed and data is rate is too high. Without receiving any email had exchanged a few MB of data in less than an hour. Having single corporate sync account alleviate the data load and extended the battery life back to normal.
Is anyone experiencing major lag in the stock gingerbread music player? Changing songs takes forever and it constantly force closes. It's been like this since the update.I do not want to use any third party music player apps.
I have original xoom and xoom family edition. On original xoom there is a huge choice of locales and interface languages that i could use. For example i could easily set it up to use Russian everywhere in the menus and whatnot. But on family edition the choice is very trimmed. How can add full russian localization to it?
getting a bit frustrated about family edition being trimmed...
We need Indic Language support on Atrix. Its a great phone, but neither Android nor Motoblur has added support for Indian language fonts (like Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telgu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, etc.). Its about time Motorola take it upon themselves to resolve this issue. This is one key issue that will stop millions of Indians in the US and all over the world from getting this phone.
