Motorola Atrix 2 :: Prevent Losing Wifi With Case?
Jan 5, 2013I purchased a silicone jelly case for my Atrix 2 phone. However, when I put it on my wi-fi signal strength decreases. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Motorola Atrix HD :: Case That Will Work In The Car Dock
Sep 27, 2012I just got the car dock, which I really like (I had one of my original Atrix 4G) I was wondering if anyone had a recomendation for a protective case for the phone that will work with the car dock. I prefer the thinner silicon varity, buy I really want one that will fit with the car dock. Looking at the dock there seems to be a removable insert to be able to accomodate a thicker case.

Aug 31, 2011I've had my Atrix since May 2011 and 3 times now it has completely wiped my calendar.I've looked through the forums on here but all I can find is the suggestion that syncing to gmail may be the problem. However, I am fairly certain that I have set everything to NOT sync with googlemail etc, as I do not use calendars anywhere but on my phone. Could I have missed something which means my phone is trying to sync with an empty calendar somewhere - but if so I would have expected it to do this more than 3 times in as many months?

Jan 16, 2012I regularly lose song files on the 32GB MicroSDHC card (Class 10) in my Atrix 2. They disappear without a trace, and without notice of any kind. I've been checking my music directory regularly with a file explorer app, and I've noticed that they tend to disappear whenever minor changes are made to the SD card (mounting/unmounting the card, connecting to my PC, adding new files to the card, revising existing files, etc.). I've tried using different SD cards, different PC connection methods (MotoHelper and USB Mass Storage), but nothing seems to work.
Is Android 2.3.5 not reading the card properly? I don't see the point of using an SD card with this phone if I can't guarantee that the files will stay accessible.
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Losing Microcell Connection Intermittently?
Nov 29, 2011I have a Microcell in my office. The 3G and EDGE signal is -100 or worse, so there's no conflict there. The wifi signal in my office is low, ~-80db, and often disconnects/reconnects. Every once in a while my Atrix (stock gingerbread) loses the microcell connection completely and continues to have no network connection. The wifi connection stays connected though. I have to enable and then disable airplane mode to get the connection back up.

Feb 20, 2012So after upgrading OTA to 2.3.6 and performing a factory reset on my Atrix 4G, I've noticed that stock google talk app loses connection with the server after a few minutes while the phone is asleep. As soon as I wake up the phone, The network status icon is gray and within 30 seconds or so, the phone reconnects with the google servers and the icon turns blue again.
I've never had this issue before while on 2.2 and 2.3.4. I've made sure the app is always open and background data is enabled. Also my battery mode is set to performance mode so it should sync all day.

Jul 30, 2011I own a business and having my contacts phone numbers is an abosolute necessity for me.I've noticed that after importing all my contacts from my SD card (after having setup the phone and creating a MotoBlur account, adding facebook, and a couple of email accounts) that the contacts whom had a Facebook profile, it REMOVED the phone numbers that were previously attached to the contact file.Is there a way to keep the phone from doing this? It did this to each contact that had a facebook profile that didn't have their phone number on their facebook profile.I've tried to go in and edit the contact but it tells me that you can't edit a facebook profile / contact.

Apr 9, 2010After recently buying a new Milestone outright I'm looking to protect the hell out of it. I currently have purchased a hard case for the phone itself (seidio innocase) as well as a screen protector.Now the next thing that I am looking for is a good Vertical case/pouch.The thing is that it must be vertical and it must be open at the top (I don't want a cover at all.I want to be able to slide the phone in and out easily). I also must have a belt clip on it.I have found a few online, but for what reviews that I have read stated that they are hard to get the phone in and out of when the phone is naked (no case on it). Since I am planning to have the phone in a hard case at all times that particular case will not work for me.
I have seen the pDair case and it looks good, but $28 USD plus shipping (to Canada) I want to make sure that the phone (in a hard case) will fit in it. I havn’t found any reviews on it as of yet either.I know that the iphone & Nexus One are about the same size as the Milestone and wonder if anyone has tried any of those cases with success? As I am sure (especially for the iphone) that there is a wider selection of cases available.
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Popup To Unplug Charger Won't Go Away - Keep Losing Wireless Settings
Sep 17, 2011My wife and I both have Atrix 4G phones. I frequently get a Popup window when I unplug the charger reminding me to unplug the charger. This happens both with my 12V to USB adapter plugged into my motorcycle and with the home charger from Motorola. Also, I lose the settings for my home wireless and have to re-enter everything. I've gotten notifications that I'm using up my data plan because I lose my wireless and emails then start downloading over the cell network without my knowing it. I'm about ready to get rid of the so called smart phone and go back to my basic cell phone.

Oct 25, 2012I finally broke down and installed the Atrix HD update yesterday. What a mistake. Prior to installing the update, I could drive from home to work and have the battery drop from 100% to 95% in about 20 minutes or so (which, is terrible as well). Today after installing the update my battery went from 100% to 87% in the same 20 minutes. I can't believe that an update that was presented good for battery life actually makes it worse! I can say however, that the performance of the phone is better (touch responses, less laggy, etc, but I am sure that is at the cost of battery life). Other than a hard reset is there anyway to get this update off of the the phone?

Sep 22, 2011For the last several weeks neither the WiFi nor the Bluetooth will turn on. When selecting to turn on WiFi is starts to turn on then stops and displays Error. About 75% of the time after attempting to turn on the WiFi the phone will reboot. I have factory reset the phone and the WiFi and Bluetooth will work once after the reset but once the phone sleeps neither WiFi nor Bluetooth will operate. This is even after a power down. I have checked my settings and can't find anything that would cause this.

May 19, 2011I originally returned the atrix because it would drop the wifi connection every few minutes eventhough I was sitting next to my router. My iphone, ipad and home computers did not exhibit this behavior. I was thinking of trying the phone again after the new maintenance updates but it looks like this is still an issue. I tried the router people (their "fixes" did not work), AT&T couldn't help, Motorola couldn't help and I even took my phone to Best Buy where I purchased it and their fix worked for a bit now I can't get it to work. There is a way to change the security settings and I can't get back there. Of course I found it by accident before and now I can't get back there. I am connected and can't use the browser. Oct 11, 2011I've had my Atrix for a couple of months now and I noticed this problem back within the first 30 days but thought it was an issue with our network at work..ie the wrong password. After getting our tech guys to set the right password I have tried to connect to the WiFi at work but it gets to the point of obtaining an IP address and disconnects. I know the password is right because my co workers newish laptop will connect and another coworkers Iphone 3GS will connect.
My Atrix will connect at home, Applebees guest and the local hospitals guest connection. The work connection is secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK according to my phone. It's a small work place and really the only person that would every use the connection would be me and honestly I'm a little peeved that I can't get it to connect. The routers are probably about 3 years old so I'm not sure what that would have on them but they should work just fine with this phone. I can't really log into the routers and change anything there because of some other things that are networked into the system. Are there any setting I can change in my phone that might force it to work?
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Wifi Turns Off After Turn It On?
Sep 19, 2011After a weekend of operation I tried to turn WiFi on only to have it turn itself off after 15-30 sec. It happened 3 times before I powered down and back up, that fixed the problem. It may be a memory leak as the phone had been on for 3 days, or maybe it was related to the fact that it had gotten to a low battery state over the weekend and it turned off some services to save battery and didn't turn them back on after it was charged. I have very few apps loaded and dont think thats the problem, but I did use Googles navigator this weekend for the first time since I updated to GB.

Dec 25, 2011When I got my Atrix 2 days ago, I brought it home and connected to my home wifi with no problem. Downoaded the 1st of 2 updates/upgrades and after installing it, I was no longer able to connect to it. "Obtaining IP address" was all it displayed until disabling it and connecting to one of my neighbour's unsecured, poor signal, on and off connection.I've tried the tech people at Bell Mobiity and even my internet provider and they are clueless.Everything else in the house connects without issue, including my old blackberry bold 9000, xbox, 3 laptops, tv, etc. Just not my Atrix.I've rebooted the router several times, renewed WAN settings, switched to static ip. I've also pulled the battery for 2+ minutes, rebooted the phone, told it to forget, then re-entered the password to try to reconnect. Nothing.I also don't have any issue connecting to other wifi networks. Just the one in my house.

Jul 4, 2011My WiFi settings are checked for WiFi to never sleep; however, when my screen is off and the phone is on Standby, after a short while the WiFi disconnects. When the screen is turned on, the WiFi again connects. I assumed that the Advanced WiFi setting of "Never Sleep" would prevent this allowing me to remain connected on Skype etc. while on Standby. Aug 1, 2012I've been on the phone with Motorola Support, AT&T, and my ISP... no one seems to be able to figure out why this is happening. It's all but shy of disconcerting that their only "solutions" are to a.) find a attwifi hotspot to see if it still does it or b.) trade it in for a new one.
Okay, so I tried the first solution. Drove to McDonald's... no avail. Wouldn't even connect at all. I also tried a master reset, tweaked my wifi router settings, and still standing not even 20 feet from the router it still disconnects constantly. At best, it stays connected for 30+ minutes, and that's when I'm actually talking on the phone.

Apr 24, 2011I have noticed ever since i've gotten my Atrix that the wifi is always getting dropped when im inside a bedroom or some 20 ft away from the router. At first i thought it might have been just my router having issues but my laptop never experienced any wifi droppage like that though. The only times i don't get dropped signals are when im actually right infront of my router
I've read that sim-unlocked devices may experience this issue but mine isn't, or at least i don't think it is. I bought it from n AT&T store and im pretty sure they wouldn't sell an unlocked device, ever...
So my question is then, has anyone found a solution to this? I mean it's starting to become a real big hassle having to wait for my connection to come back up so i can continue using my phone
My brother also bought an Atrix lest than a month ago and its having the same issue so i have no clue if either both our devices are defective or if its a general issues most users are having, cause if so, i think Atrix users should either get a refund or at least an update to fix this issue.

Jun 11, 2011I was just curious to know if this is considered a known bug / will be fixed in the gingerbread update.After using wifi and walking out of the wifi zone (eg, out of my house and down the street) I will check my phone to find that the mobile data connection has not re-started itself, and only a reboot will fix this issue. Other issues have been my phone will get stuck only being able to upload (and not download the resulting pages/data) as well as the symbol disappearing completelyafter a little bit of research I found this may be a problem with 2.2.2 froyo and for my sake I hope it is, but I was just curious to make sure it is fixed in future updates.

Feb 2, 2013I've had my Atrix HD for a couple of months, and am generally quite happy with it. The biggest problem I'm having with it is how fast the battery drains when I'm not connected to WIFI. Most of the time I am on WIFI either at work or home. When on WIFI the battery lasts 12 hours or more easily with reasonable use. However, if I'm on the road or out somewhere not connected to WIFI, the battery will drain very quick. For example, yesterday I unplugged my phone at about noon and was at home all day. At 9pm it still had 60% charge. I then left home for the evening, and by midnight the phone was dead. I didn't even make any calls, only checked an address on Google Maps. I did notice the phone was pretty warm during that time.
I've tried turning off WIFI and Bluetooth when I'm out, it doesn't help. It doesn't seem to matter if the phone is on an LTE network or not, as far as I can tell. I had an Atrix 4G previous to this, and never noticed a difference in battery consumption whether I was connected to WIFI or 4G, it seemed pretty consistant.
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Wifi Only Works In Airplane Mode?
Oct 18, 2011Ive always had my wifi on that way when i enter a saved network or att hotspot it switches to wifi and i save on data useage. Well, sometime after the gingerbread update my wifi stopped working correctly. It would be on and show the wifi symbol but when two saved network locations, it would "connect" to the network but no data was being sent or recieved. I even tried it on an att hotspot and no luck. The wifi turns on fine and says it is connected but it hasno signal as indicated by the grayed out wifi signal bar. Now i read something that said to put the phone in airplane mode and thenturn wifi on and it should work fine, well i did that and it works as long as i stay in airplane mode. I dont see this as a fix but instead as only more evidence to an apparent problem. What good is wifi on a phone if i can only use it when the phone can no longer work as a phone.
