Jul 6, 2011i've owned an Atrix now for about a month and very time i save events and appointments to the calender within a couple of days they all dissapear the data gone.

Motorola Atrix :: Calendar Keeps Losing Entries?
Aug 31, 2011I've had my Atrix since May 2011 and 3 times now it has completely wiped my calendar.I've looked through the forums on here but all I can find is the suggestion that syncing to gmail may be the problem. However, I am fairly certain that I have set everything to NOT sync with googlemail etc, as I do not use calendars anywhere but on my phone. Could I have missed something which means my phone is trying to sync with an empty calendar somewhere - but if so I would have expected it to do this more than 3 times in as many months?

Feb 20, 2012So after upgrading OTA to 2.3.6 and performing a factory reset on my Atrix 4G, I've noticed that stock google talk app loses connection with the server after a few minutes while the phone is asleep. As soon as I wake up the phone, The network status icon is gray and within 30 seconds or so, the phone reconnects with the google servers and the icon turns blue again.
I've never had this issue before while on 2.2 and 2.3.4. I've made sure the app is always open and background data is enabled. Also my battery mode is set to performance mode so it should sync all day.

Jul 4, 2011I am losing data from the Atrix. I have lost a file of pictures that I know were there but then disappeared. This morning I have made several calender entries and 10 minutes later they are not there. It may well be me not understanding how to retrieve them. So, when you make a calendar entry do you get a choice where it's filed, i.e. phone memory or "cloud". If it's in the cloud is there a way to retrieve them.

Jan 16, 2012I regularly lose song files on the 32GB MicroSDHC card (Class 10) in my Atrix 2. They disappear without a trace, and without notice of any kind. I've been checking my music directory regularly with a file explorer app, and I've noticed that they tend to disappear whenever minor changes are made to the SD card (mounting/unmounting the card, connecting to my PC, adding new files to the card, revising existing files, etc.). I've tried using different SD cards, different PC connection methods (MotoHelper and USB Mass Storage), but nothing seems to work.
Is Android 2.3.5 not reading the card properly? I don't see the point of using an SD card with this phone if I can't guarantee that the files will stay accessible.
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Losing Microcell Connection Intermittently?
Nov 29, 2011I have a Microcell in my office. The 3G and EDGE signal is -100 or worse, so there's no conflict there. The wifi signal in my office is low, ~-80db, and often disconnects/reconnects. Every once in a while my Atrix (stock gingerbread) loses the microcell connection completely and continues to have no network connection. The wifi connection stays connected though. I have to enable and then disable airplane mode to get the connection back up.

Jul 30, 2011I own a business and having my contacts phone numbers is an abosolute necessity for me.I've noticed that after importing all my contacts from my SD card (after having setup the phone and creating a MotoBlur account, adding facebook, and a couple of email accounts) that the contacts whom had a Facebook profile, it REMOVED the phone numbers that were previously attached to the contact file.Is there a way to keep the phone from doing this? It did this to each contact that had a facebook profile that didn't have their phone number on their facebook profile.I've tried to go in and edit the contact but it tells me that you can't edit a facebook profile / contact.

Sep 17, 2011My wife and I both have Atrix 4G phones. I frequently get a Popup window when I unplug the charger reminding me to unplug the charger. This happens both with my 12V to USB adapter plugged into my motorcycle and with the home charger from Motorola. Also, I lose the settings for my home wireless and have to re-enter everything. I've gotten notifications that I'm using up my data plan because I lose my wireless and emails then start downloading over the cell network without my knowing it. I'm about ready to get rid of the so called smart phone and go back to my basic cell phone.

Oct 25, 2012I finally broke down and installed the Atrix HD update yesterday. What a mistake. Prior to installing the update, I could drive from home to work and have the battery drop from 100% to 95% in about 20 minutes or so (which, is terrible as well). Today after installing the update my battery went from 100% to 87% in the same 20 minutes. I can't believe that an update that was presented good for battery life actually makes it worse! I can say however, that the performance of the phone is better (touch responses, less laggy, etc, but I am sure that is at the cost of battery life). Other than a hard reset is there anyway to get this update off of the the phone?

Jun 6, 2011This is happening 2-3 times a day on average where I won't have any data connection at all. Nothing connects data-wise and 3G/1X icon disappears altogether. Never happened before GB update. Simple reboot restores the data connection.

Initially, I thought it was a result of an early season snowstorm, that more or less, crippled my state (Connecticut), and since I am a power utility engineer, as you can imagine, I have been on the phone quite a bit. As we moved closer to full electric restoration, I am seeing that this isn't an issue brought on by inclement weather, but by a software/hardware glitch.

Feb 17, 2012I've tried calling Verizon, but they won't open a ticket because of a known issue with the .173 update, but everytime I enter a extended network area, I quickly lose data connection. It seems like I hear of quite a few people in my area having this problem. Verizon pushed a hybrid PRL to my phone and the PRL version went from 15098 to 13014. Am I going to just have to wait till they actually send someone to fix a local tower or is this something nation wide?

Sep 20, 2012I am having a problem with the calendar on my new Atrix 2. I have a Corporate Sync account setup with an Exchange 2010 server, and have Calendar kept insync at all times (Push update). When I create an event on my calendar through Outlook and set it as 'All day', the calendar on the phone always reports it as one day out (e.g. Sept 21 would show on the phone as Sept 20).At first I thought this may be to do with time zones, or day light savings. However for all events that are not designated 'All Day' this problem does not occur, rulling out that idea. Also the time zone for the server and the phone match.I do not have this problem on any other motorola phone (defy, fire) or other non motorola smartphones

Sep 26, 2011On my Atrix 4G with Motoblur, purchased several months ago, I was able to set up the syncing with my Google calendar. It worked well until about 2 months ago, when the automatic synching just stopped. I WAS able to manually synch, so decided to drop the matter. After several weeks the automatic synching just returned.
Now all calendar synching -- manual as well as automatic -- has stopped for several days. I did the recommended power-off, remove battery, remove SIM card, etc., routine. No effect.
A synched calendar was the number one reason I upgraded to a newer phone model when I purchased the Atrix 4G. I have one Google calendar and one phone. All I want to do is to be able to synch them. Nothing complicated. Is this just a flaw in the Atrix?

Dec 29, 2011I work a schedule where i work one friday but have the next Friday off. in other words I work frday every other week, one week I work 5 days & the next week i work only 4 days. I am looking for a home screen calendar that allows me to select weekly but for every other week. The one that came with my Atrix 2 only gives me the option of weekly, daily, monthly, yearly.

Jun 15, 2011This weekend I noticed that my calendar widget was falling a day behind. I deleted it from my homescreen and then tried to add it back. It brings up the configuration screen, but it refuses to add it to my homescreen, even if I try it on an entirely blank homescreen. I use launcherpro, but it hasn't had a recent update, and I have never had an issue before. I have tried restarting to no avail.

Apr 22, 2011Perhaps I'm not doing things correctly, but I've noticed that when I receive a calendar invitation which contains attached documents from my work Exchange account, I can't retrieve the attachments except under specific circumstances.
When I receive an invitation and it is still in my email inbox, there is a link to the attachment. If I click it then before looking at the event details, I can view and save the attachment (I have automatic download of attachments turned off - I need to turn it on and see what happens). In the above case, If I go to view the event in my calendar first and accept the invitation, the item is removed from my inbox and any attachments are no longer accessible. In all cases, events in my calendar with attached documents do not show any attached documents. I've not found a way to get access to attachments that I know are in Calendar entries from work.
Is this pilot error or a "feature" of the email and calendar client apps?

Oct 6, 2012I am using Gmail Calendar. I have subscribed to the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar using the Gmail web interface. The Android Calendar App lists this calendar as synchronized and visible. Unfortunately, the anniversary, birthday, and other events from the calendar do not display. I purchased the CalenGoo App to troubleshoot this issue. CalenGoo also fails to display the the "Contacts' birthdays and events" content via the Android account. However, if I manually add my same Gmail account to CalenGoo and allow it to sync independently, then the events appear as expected. This indicates that Android is not actually synchronizing the events from this calendar, although the UI reports that it is.
I have tried deleting the Calendar Data from the phone, removing and re-adding the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar in Gmail, and re-syncing on Android various times. These actions had no effect.Is anyone with a Motorola Atrix HD seeing this behavior, or getting the contact birthdays and anniversaries to display?
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Calendar Widget In Version 4.1.83, Android 2.2.2?
May 9, 2011Since the upgrade to ver. 4.1.83, the calendar widget on the home screen just shows 31 and says calendar. It used to sync w/ google calendar and show the current date and upcoming scheduled events. Is it just me or is this a general issue which get addressed in a future update?

Jan 23, 2012I have an Exchange account set up on my Atrix and for some reason not all of the events in my Exchange calendar get synced to the phone. I see some of them but not others which is frustrating as I can't view all of my appointments on the phone.
I have the same account setup on another Android phone which uses Cyanogenmod 7 which has the stock calendar and can I view all the events there so it is definitely an issue related to MotoBlur and the Atrix calendar. I've tried removing the Exchange account and readding it and resyncing but it didn't make any difference.

Aug 4, 2011After the 2.3.4 update, the calendar will show the incorrect organizer name for appointments that I have created. This only occurs when there is more than 1 Google account setup on the device.
example: The main account on my device is Joe@gmail.com, the secondary account is Bob@gmail.com. I create an appointment on the Joe@gmail.com calendar. On the Atrix Calendar it will show the appointment organizer as Bob@gmail.com.
If I click "show attendee details", the information is correct.
