This is happening 2-3 times a day on average where I won't have any data connection at all. Nothing connects data-wise and 3G/1X icon disappears altogether. Never happened before GB update. Simple reboot restores the data connection.
View 15 RepliesOver the past week, or so, I have been experiencing intermittent losses of data and phone service. This issue has been magnified over the past few days. Initially, I thought it was a result of an early season snowstorm, that more or less, crippled my state (Connecticut), and since I am a power utility engineer, as you can imagine, I have been on the phone quite a bit. As we moved closer to full electric restoration, I am seeing that this isn't an issue brought on by inclement weather, but by a software/hardware glitch.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSince Verizon had their 4g issues the other day I have noticed that i keep losing my data connection. I can still make phone calls but can't get on line. I will watch as my data connection goes from 4g to 3g to nothing as i am standing in the same spotI am just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue? I have used about 10 gigs this month but i don't think i am getting throttled ( if Verizon even does that).
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've tried calling Verizon, but they won't open a ticket because of a known issue with the .173 update, but everytime I enter a extended network area, I quickly lose data connection. It seems like I hear of quite a few people in my area having this problem. Verizon pushed a hybrid PRL to my phone and the PRL version went from 15098 to 13014. Am I going to just have to wait till they actually send someone to fix a local tower or is this something nation wide?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBoth my wife's razr maxx and mine lose sound for media like play music, games and even stock music player at random times when the issue occurs. Only way I get it back is either restart the phone or if I go to menu>system settings>sound>sounds and turn ringtone volume all the way down and back up again. I thought is was just my phone but my wife complained about it to me and showed her what I do to get it back. I already did a FDR after ICS update.

I have noticed sometimes after adjusting the volume with the side-mounted rocker buttons that I will sometimes experience a double (short) vibrate or a longer vibrate, but it doesn't seem to happen all the time. I have also experienced these feedback signals at other times, and can't figure out what is triggering them or what they are meant to indicate. They don't seem related to notifications or other obvious indications.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy GPS worked splendidly for about a year with the Droid X. Now it really doesn't work at all. On Google Maps the circle never goes below a kilometer, and even with that it is usually wrong. When I try and use it to Navigate, it never tells me where to turn and I get lost because it isn't getting a signal.
I checked, and all settings were on for GPS. I restarted the phone and pulled the battery. I installed GPS Status and tried to Manage A-GPS state. First I reset, and that didn't work. Then I Downloaded and that didn't work either. The app thinks it is doing something but no satellites show up and the radar even outdoors and even not moving.
My Droid 4 has suddenly become very unreliable with regards to the GPS. All of a sudden, it takes several minutes (if at all) to receive sat signals, and if it does connect it gives wildly incorrect information. I have not installed any new software and I even tried Safe Mode, no difference.

I would notice however that every couple of minutes the screen would turn on, stay on for a minute, then turn off. It would then repeat the process. So I did a factory reset, same thing happened. I realized it would turn itself on because it would drop the 3G connection totally, then when it connected again the screen turns on. I put the SIM in my Nexus and it's fine. And it doesn't really matter now because the phone won't turn on anymore. I picked it up to check it and nothing happened when I hit the power button. And I can't get it to turn on at all now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo at first I thought that the Razr had a weak WiFi reception. So I decided to install a WiFi access point in my office, basically on my desk. I connected the Razr to it but yet, it still occasionally shows a low signal or drops the connection completely then reconnects, works for a bit then drops it again. I'm at a point where I had to turn WiFi off on my phone because it was draining my battery so fast from flipping between the Cellular network and WiFi network way to often. I also have a Glaxy Tab 7.0 Plus connected to the same access point and it never drops a connection and it shows 100% strong on the signal.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI bought my first Bionic, on Oct28th, had the data issues from day one. Finally after a month and several hours of phone calls to Verizon and Motorola, replaced handset. New handset, new SIM, still same issues. Loosing data, loosing connectivity,etc. I have always used Motorola from the Startac, Droid X, Droid X2,etc. Really disappointed with Verizon. I am very data dependant with my job.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo after upgrading OTA to 2.3.6 and performing a factory reset on my Atrix 4G, I've noticed that stock google talk app loses connection with the server after a few minutes while the phone is asleep. As soon as I wake up the phone, The network status icon is gray and within 30 seconds or so, the phone reconnects with the google servers and the icon turns blue again.
I've never had this issue before while on 2.2 and 2.3.4. I've made sure the app is always open and background data is enabled. Also my battery mode is set to performance mode so it should sync all day.
yesterday i took 34 pictures. they were all there last night now they have dissapeared yesterday i posted a question on here about connecting the Bluetooth mouse. the post seems to have disappeared.is it me or the system?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can have full signal bars and 3G service and as soon as I hit the send button to make a call or receive a call all the signal bars and the 3G disappear. I have had poor call quality since I have owned the phone. I traded for this phone, so taking it to verizon for a replacement is not an option. I have done a complete reset on the phone, and verizon has done all they can do as for reprogramming. Has anyone else had this problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOne of the big benefits of these phones is the ability to stay on top of email. I have a yahoo account and I have it loaded into my messaging app. Over the year that I've had this phone my yahoo occasionally has become deathly silent. Of coarse the android is not updating or even connecting to my account. This happened on average every couple of months. I've done a few things to try to get it back including deleting and reloading the account, updating the android os, messing with email settings. It usually eventually comes back on its own...within a couple of days. Its now getting to the point where I lose connectivity every week or two and its gone for that much time. This is really annoying and I don't keep on top of my emails nearly as effectively. I need to fix this. I'm not seeing alot of posts with the same issue though.

when i get an update notice, and go in from that icon, it shows me "google maps", "kindle", and "Internet".
i uninstalled the market and it was fine. (it ended up re-updating itself at some point later.) it happened again. i went into manage apps and cleared the data, and it was fine.
The only way i get sound back is to plug in my headphones and then unplug them. After i do that i get the sound back again

My bluetooth headphones will work for the phone, but not for game or music player audio.When I disconnect the headphones, the speaker works fine. When I reconnect them, I still get nothing, but again, after disconnecting, the speaker works.Rebooting the phone corrects the issue.The best I can relate this to is muting the phone during a meeting.I have use the volume rocker and my "Volume Control" app.If I mute it, and put it back quickly, it works. It's when I've had it muted for an hour or so that I see the problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally broke down and installed the Atrix HD update yesterday. What a mistake. Prior to installing the update, I could drive from home to work and have the battery drop from 100% to 95% in about 20 minutes or so (which, is terrible as well). Today after installing the update my battery went from 100% to 87% in the same 20 minutes. I can't believe that an update that was presented good for battery life actually makes it worse! I can say however, that the performance of the phone is better (touch responses, less laggy, etc, but I am sure that is at the cost of battery life). Other than a hard reset is there anyway to get this update off of the the phone?
