quite often when I press the power button to just shut the screen off on my Droid X, and then turn it on later, it says that theres no service for a second or two and it then returns to 3g. Is this happening to your Droid X too?

Over the past week, or so, I have been experiencing intermittent losses of data and phone service. This issue has been magnified over the past few days. Initially, I thought it was a result of an early season snowstorm, that more or less, crippled my state (Connecticut), and since I am a power utility engineer, as you can imagine, I have been on the phone quite a bit. As we moved closer to full electric restoration, I am seeing that this isn't an issue brought on by inclement weather, but by a software/hardware glitch.
View 14 Replies View Related5.5.893 Lost connectivity. I could not get Wi-Fi or 4G. I have been doing restarts instead of battery pulls and that has been working until today. It totally locked up on the Power Off Shutting Down screen. I tried to force it off by pushing the power, up/down volume buttons and nothing happened. That may not be the correct procedure, I only find that to be a starting procedure after shutdown. I pulled the battery and it restarted fine. I also had missed a call while it was locked up because I had a voicemail after restart. I have been thinking of getting the RAZR only because it is slimmer. Am I comparing apples to oranges? What would I have to do if I couldn't pull the battery?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Droid 2 can be on in my pocket with the battery saver enabled (screen off, but phone still on) and at any given time that I check it, I press the power button and find that it's off. I then have to remove the battery and put it back in and then turn the phone back on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe last few weeks my droid turbo has been acting up. The first time it shut down it showed 28% battery remaining, second time 33%, then again yesterday it shut down showing 73% then again showing 78%. Today it shut down again showing 78%.
I plug it in for ten minutes after each shutdown and it will work again and show that the batter level went up while charging.
I can have full signal bars and 3G service and as soon as I hit the send button to make a call or receive a call all the signal bars and the 3G disappear. I have had poor call quality since I have owned the phone. I traded for this phone, so taking it to verizon for a replacement is not an option. I have done a complete reset on the phone, and verizon has done all they can do as for reprogramming. Has anyone else had this problem?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi will be browsing / using apps / unlocking my phone and the screen will just crap out and turn itself off. a little red light seems to appear at the top of the phone, which i'm not sure what that means, but it keeps doing that. i've turned the phone on and off a few times this morning, taken the battery out and let it sit for a minute before putting it back in and rebooting and it still does it.

View 15 Replies View RelatedOne of the big benefits of these phones is the ability to stay on top of email. I have a yahoo account and I have it loaded into my messaging app. Over the year that I've had this phone my yahoo occasionally has become deathly silent. Of coarse the android is not updating or even connecting to my account. This happened on average every couple of months. I've done a few things to try to get it back including deleting and reloading the account, updating the android os, messing with email settings. It usually eventually comes back on its own...within a couple of days. Its now getting to the point where I lose connectivity every week or two and its gone for that much time. This is really annoying and I don't keep on top of my emails nearly as effectively. I need to fix this. I'm not seeing alot of posts with the same issue though.

when i get an update notice, and go in from that icon, it shows me "google maps", "kindle", and "Internet".
i uninstalled the market and it was fine. (it ended up re-updating itself at some point later.) it happened again. i went into manage apps and cleared the data, and it was fine.
The only way i get sound back is to plug in my headphones and then unplug them. After i do that i get the sound back again

Only way I get it back is either restart the phone or if I go to menu>system settings>sound>sounds and turn ringtone volume all the way down and back up again. I thought is was just my phone but my wife complained about it to me and showed her what I do to get it back. I already did a FDR after ICS update.

I will watch as my data connection goes from 4g to 3g to nothing as i am standing in the same spotI am just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue? I have used about 10 gigs this month but i don't think i am getting throttled ( if Verizon even does that).

Starting just a few minutes ago, it started shutting down, rebooting, and before it's completely up (lock screen is shown, but 3G service indicator isn't shown yet or my weather bug notification at the top of the screen) it shuts down again and goes thru another boot cycle. It doesn't stay booted long enough to do anything, including a factory reset. Because of it's age, I doubt there is any warranty is there?

It does it whether using the speaker or headphones. I never used to do this and I'm wondering whether I've clicked something in settings /preferences that is making it shut down the player.
I've tried calling Verizon, but they won't open a ticket because of a known issue with the .173 update, but everytime I enter a extended network area, I quickly lose data connection. It seems like I hear of quite a few people in my area having this problem. Verizon pushed a hybrid PRL to my phone and the PRL version went from 15098 to 13014. Am I going to just have to wait till they actually send someone to fix a local tower or is this something nation wide?

My bluetooth headphones will work for the phone, but not for game or music player audio.When I disconnect the headphones, the speaker works fine. When I reconnect them, I still get nothing, but again, after disconnecting, the speaker works.Rebooting the phone corrects the issue.The best I can relate this to is muting the phone during a meeting.I have use the volume rocker and my "Volume Control" app.If I mute it, and put it back quickly, it works. It's when I've had it muted for an hour or so that I see the problem.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI had one little problem about two weeks after I bought it, where it suddenly froze up and then shut off and wouldn't turn back on for several hours until I connected it to my computer. Over the passed couple of weeks, I've started having trouble with it.It started as just being slow to connect to internet and to place calls, but it has steadily worsened to the point that I am randomly dropping service in places I've never had a problem with before. I keep dropping calls or calls won't go through at all, and the call quality has gone down. Messages also won't go through, and notifications from my apps won't appear. Even in my Facebook app, I'll recieve the red number telling me I have a new notification, but when I touch it, the notifications screen won't refresh. Today, the little "4G" symbol kept changing to the "E" symbol.

this past week (tuesday) I sent my wife a text, and she never received it as of thursday. on thursday I decided to reset my iphone, and after doing so my text messages were then received. however now I'm getting the "no service, and searching" indication on my phone when I'm in the house, and I've never received that before. I've also reset the network, and it still get the same indications. what do I need to do?

My I Phone 5 keeps losing 3G and then loses service. The phone can be laid flat in front of me and I see it go from 3G to GPRS to No Service. I have a new sim and have had the antennae checked and also restored the software. Nothing has worked,

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an 8350i on Nextel and i have loaded OS 5 onto it. (a little background incase you arent aware.. Nextel has not yet released OS 5 but SouthernLinc has and ive been using SouthernLincs version of it for the 8350i for about a month or so with NO issues) I really dont want to have to reload my OS back to 4.6 as there are some major upgrades on 5.0 for the 8350i. You guys think it might be that im running OS 5? I also have the "Boostberry" configuration (aka i have a normal nextel data plan instead of a bb plan) ive had this for about 6 months atleast now without any troubles. So 3 times over the week or so ive turned on my device and had it "register with the network" then i go to compose a sms message or place a call and i get service book not found errors. I reload the service books and it works great for a few days then it happens again. You think its because of running Southernlincs OS 5 thats just not causing me issues or any other ideas of what it may be?? I dont want to downgrade back to 4.6 and spend an hour loading everything just to find out that wasnt my issue.

View 8 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, I updated my phone to 2.3.3. Since the update, which was successful, the celluar (3G) connection has been dropping and not reconnecting. My only resolution has been to power down/up the phone. I tried forcing the phone in/out of Airplane mode in hopes that that action would force a start of the 3G stuffs but no luck.
