i will be browsing / using apps / unlocking my phone and the screen will just crap out and turn itself off. a little red light seems to appear at the top of the phone, which i'm not sure what that means, but it keeps doing that. i've turned the phone on and off a few times this morning, taken the battery out and let it sit for a minute before putting it back in and rebooting and it still does it.
View 1 RepliesI have the atrix and after trying to close web page down the way forum suggest its still not closing down. The page where I booked a hotel room is still open on the widget. If I try to go back it says its possible to recharge my card. The widget still up on my home page. you click on it and the hotel browser pops right back up.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo i uninstalled the few apps ive downloaded since the 2.3.4 update and still my phone randomly shuts off and sometimes it freezes. Ill go to make a call or scroll through the screens and for no reason the screen turns black and the only thing that i can do is pull down the notification bar... i have to turn it off and back on for it to work again. My husband has the same phone and his does the same thing since the update so i dont think its a app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Triumph since last August. Actually it's my 4th one. Starting just a few minutes ago, it started shutting down, rebooting, and before it's completely up (lock screen is shown, but 3G service indicator isn't shown yet or my weather bug notification at the top of the screen) it shuts down again and goes thru another boot cycle. It doesn't stay booted long enough to do anything, including a factory reset. Because of it's age, I doubt there is any warranty is there?

It does it whether using the speaker or headphones. I never used to do this and I'm wondering whether I've clicked something in settings /preferences that is making it shut down the player.
5.5.893 Lost connectivity. I could not get Wi-Fi or 4G. I have been doing restarts instead of battery pulls and that has been working until today. It totally locked up on the Power Off Shutting Down screen. I tried to force it off by pushing the power, up/down volume buttons and nothing happened. That may not be the correct procedure, I only find that to be a starting procedure after shutdown. I pulled the battery and it restarted fine. I also had missed a call while it was locked up because I had a voicemail after restart. I have been thinking of getting the RAZR only because it is slimmer. Am I comparing apples to oranges? What would I have to do if I couldn't pull the battery?

However my wife bought the Atrix2 and she says the screen shuts off on her when the she touches the screen. It is not a timeout setting either. It is REALLY bad when we are laying in bed and she holds the phone and i try to touch the screen...boom screen shuts off! She turns it on and i touch the screen...boom the screen turns off again. Is this some kind of security setting?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have this weird thing going on with my Atrix. I've had it for about six months and it was fine until now. What happens is that the touchscreen stops responding after it is turned off (pressing the power button) and back on. I can't unlock the phone, but the volume buttons are still responsive and I can still turn off the screen. If i reboot it (by removing the battery), it boots up just fine, with the screen working perfectly. It'll sometimes stop working when ending a call. The weird thing is that it doesn't happen everytime I turn off the screen, and when it happens, if I turn it off and back on it sometimes starts working again. It also seems to happen more frequently when the battery is low.
View 1 Replies View RelatedProud Atrix owner since 2/22/11...Had to replace my Atrix today with another one because the top 1/4 of the screen became unresponsive to touch. It was a sad day. I didn't do anything to it either. Good news...My backup Pro...was able to put all of my texts back into my phone...not in perfect order...but they are there. The call log was replaced! The desktop was put just like I had it! It was a pretty good move...just lost my pictures and had to redownload everything

Im not sure if this is a google flagship fucntion, but I think if we got that with the next a future update, it could even boost future sales of the device. There are hundreds, if not thousands of people out there that want this feature. However, many have never have even seen it in person. Let us be the ones to show it off to our friends, so they in turn can envy us. That would create desires in new potential customers that only spending money could fill .

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought an Atrix 4g running Gingerbread this last Saturday (8/20/11). Over a day, it probably would freeze up 10 times. It would only freeze up when the display is off. When I go to hit the power button, the display wouldn't come up. The only way to restart it would be to pull the battery.
I read on this forum and some others that some apps could cause problems so I removed all downloaded apps (factory reset) but the problem persisted. I switched for a new Atrix from ATT and the same thing would happen. At this point I can't believe I got two bad phones from AT&T, so I feel like it must be something I have setup. The guys at the AT&T store said it could have to do with my exchange email I have setup for my work email. I configured it to not sync automatically and only manually. The problem would still persist.
I'm still new at this Android stuff.... I've used an iPhone for a few years now. I must say that I was a little concerned about the switch, but am VERY happy so far!ith that being said, I'm pretty sure I'm being stupid and just missing something, but I can't get my homescreen(s) to flip even though the auto-rotate setting is checked. If it helps, I do have widgets on my homescreens, and perhaps this is the reason?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my Motorola Atrix 2 to the new 4.0.4 OS. Previously, I had my phone set up so that I had to enter a pin # if my phone had been asleep for 30 minutes or more. Otherwise, if less than 30 minutes, turning the phone on (from sleep) went directly to the home screen (no swiping or unlock needed). Under the new OS, I cannot seem to keep this. Now, there is a 2-step unlock process (selecting key icon, and then unlock option -- lock icon -- in order to get to main screen). The only way to avoid this annoying 2-step process (that doesn't really add any security) is to turn off all locks, but I would prefer to have some security (i.e. through pin lock after 30 minutes asleep). Anyway to disable this annoying 2-step/swype feature when turning on phone without disabling all locks? If not, is there anyway to go back to my previous OS?

It was a day after my 30 days to return the phone when I noticed that I had a brown line going down the left side of my screen. When I brought the problem up to AT&T they wanted to replace the phone with one of there refurbished phones. I decided to keep my current phone since I just spent 200 dollars on the phone. Last night while charging the phone while it was powered down I noticed that the brown line had now turned green and was bigger but still just on the left side of the phone. I have completed checked for updates and the phones says "up to date". I am lost for what to do I love the phone and leaving Verizon was the best move I made.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my upgrade to Atrix 4G , all the extras are overkill.....but that is not my problem...I set the screen timeout to 20 minutes, and when it goes to sleep (or what ever it does) to wake it up have to push on/off switch....that part is easy....but Then I have to slide that silly lock thing across the screen to unlock, by then the person is on voice mail.The other phones I have had you could disable the screen lock when at home (use as house phone)and then when wanted to go out lock it.....

View 5 Replies View Relatedwent to plug my Atrix in last night, it had been sitting on the dresser. Worked fine when I set it there 4 hours earlier. Battery was maybe half charged, hadn't been used much that day. When I got back to it there was nothing; blank screen, no LEDS, and wouldn't come on. Plugged in and RED LED lit up. Left like this for a while and when I came back the camera light was on, but when I unplugged it went off. Still no power. Read that maybe not original Motorola charger. Got original and GREEN LED came on. GREEN LED also comes on when plugged to PC. When it is unplugged there is nothing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst off, let me just say that I am very pleasantly surprised at how well the ICS upgrade went for my Atrix2. First off, the upgrade itself went smoothly and I lost no data. Second, the phone seems much snappier in all respects. Third, I like some of the new features that ICS provides.
One question I do have is whether it is possible to change the applications that are available on the lock screen? For example, I use a popular third party app for my camera (CameraZoom) and it would be nice to be able to access it from the lock screen instead of the stock camera.
I have a question about my Atrix. The other day I noticed the blue notifications LED was staying on solid when the screen is off. When I turn the screen on it goes off. The only way I've been able to get it to go off is to do a battery pull. Once I do that, it will go for 1-2 days and then the LED starts coming on again.
