One minor thing I've noticed after the GB update is line of random blue and white pixels at the top of the battery usage screen. Both my Atrix and my daughters Atrix show this. Both show different random data in the line and it appears to change over time. Anyone know if this is intentional?
View 6 Repliesprior to the recent ota i had experienced many random reboots, usually when watching Internet video or listening to music while reading news app. i thought ota was supposed to fix some problems with reboots when phone was overloaded but since ota i am still experiencing some random reboots and warm battery under the same conditions as previosusly.

I mean, I certainly don't know how my phone is feeling, so it can take the initiative and give itself a good rebooting when it needs it. Also, I don't know what motorola is making their batteries out of, but when I turn my phone off (or it decides to) I suddenly have more battery than I did previously. This kind of technology should be used more often so we never run out of juice on batteries of any kind.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just recently performed the 4.5.91 update on my phone, and it has altered/edited my contacts. The older software allowed for birthday/anniversary information. Cannot figure out how to add this information back to my contacts. For the "few" that actually still showed the birthday/anniversary information, either the dates are off or they just appear as a group of numbers. When I try to delete the incorrect/altered information, it doesn't give me the ability to do that.

It was a day after my 30 days to return the phone when I noticed that I had a brown line going down the left side of my screen. When I brought the problem up to AT&T they wanted to replace the phone with one of there refurbished phones. I decided to keep my current phone since I just spent 200 dollars on the phone. Last night while charging the phone while it was powered down I noticed that the brown line had now turned green and was bigger but still just on the left side of the phone. I have completed checked for updates and the phones says "up to date". I am lost for what to do I love the phone and leaving Verizon was the best move I made.

The second was perfect up until the new OTA where I had issues with 4.5.91 installing and it was replaced with an upgraded Atrix with 4.5.91 already installed.he current one is rebooting twice daily and it's getting a little old. My question is where to I go from here? I have to be able to be contacted 24/7 for work, and got my peepee stepped on last time. So I cannot wait for an exchange.Can I reinstall 4.5.91 somehow and start from scratch? I've tried the factory reset and every combination of installing and uninstalling various apps I have. Even went a few days with not restoring any apps! I'm really thinking this may be software related, but could be wrong!

View 15 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with random and frequent disconnects with the Atrix 4G when on Bluetooth while connected in a car. Initially my setup was using a Motorola Roadster and while playing audio I would randomly not get sound, then shortly after I would get the message that the phone was no longer connected to the Roadster.Usually it would eventually reconnect, sometimes almost immediately after. This would happen sometimes as often as every few minutes, while other times it could play a half hour or more before encountering the problem.
Initially I was unsure whether it was the Atrix itself or the Roadster, but after having recently purchased a Ford F-150 with SYNC bluetooth connect, I am encountering the exact same behavior with random disconnects. Unfortunately with the Ford SYNC, I never get it to automatically reconnect, and I must go into the phone, turn bluetooth off and back on, then manually reconnect from the phone.Most of the time I have the Atrix connected through the Motorola Car Dock, but I think the same behavior has occurred out of the dock.I have never noticed this same behavior with other bluetooth devices I have - Jawbone Icon, Monster iClarity speaker. I don't know if I have enough data to tell definitively or not, but I think I have only observed this when the auto was in motion.
I've been noticing recently that my Atrix generally only has about 20MB of free memory out of the 800MB or so of system memory. I thought Android was meant to manage the memory effectively but this appears not to the the case. One symptom of this is that it causes the webtop to regularly complain of lack of memory and results in Firefox automatically closing itself.

On some occasions it's a flurry of touch events that I had to power the phone off. a couple of spots seem to have a higher tendecy.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the last few days, I've had a hard time waking up my Atrix. I push the power button and it doesn't react. I push it a few more times, and eventually it wakes up and works normally. My first thought was that the power/wake button was becoming defective, but I can press it many times in a row and it will sleep, wake, sleep wake, etc. No problems.
Then today I noticed my phone was shut off completely after I returned home from being out.
I booted it back up and the battery was showing 50%, so it clearly wasn't a low battery shutdown. I have apps that can monitor the system, and I've not found any that are using a lot of CPU or battery, so I'm not sure what the issue could be.
Is there any sort of a log I can look at, to try to determine the cause of the phone shutting off?
Has anyone had any issues with the music player skipping about 30 seconds into any songs? Not just once but a few times while using. I run 25 to 30 miles a week and the music player is really getting annoying! I've tried 4 different sets of headphones and it's definitely not the headphones themselves maybe something internal. Also on my second phone here. The first one started randomly resetting itself, also had skipping issues. This one only has the skipping issues so far.

I tend to keep my phone's home pages as minimalistic as possible, only have one, and use Circle launcher on that one page to access my most used apps. Occasionally my phone adds a shortcut to a random app on a second homepage, sometimes its an Icon for an app that no longer is installed on the device. I really like the ability on the Moto devices to customize the # of start screens, the swipe up features of the locked icons at the bottom of the screen for a quick glance is a really nice touch, works great.

Phone usage is the same all the time. The same happens with C5-06 of my friend. Actually it means that I can't be sure that phone will be operational at the evening even if it is fully charged at the morning. There are no programs running in the background, no any additional software installed - just software set which came with the phone.

Previously (after 12 or more hours of uptime) I'd typically always have Display as the highest %. Now it's always Android OS. Right now I'm at 16 hours on battery and my Android OS is 64% at 44 min. My Display is only 7 min.
All the same apps since before .893 and no new ones. Factory reset has made no difference in this. if this is something known and to be addressed in .901 ?
Android OS keeps using 35 to 45% of the battery. My droid, DroidX, and Thunderbolt never used that much. This is the culprit for such a horrible battery life. I have the wifi off now and gps off when im not using it and it still has issues holding the charge for awhile. I wish I could delete the motocast account to see if that is the issue but I cant. Could it be smart actions that is causing the thing to continually search for triggers and wear battery? Or is it motocast? I don't use motocast or the stock music app ever and my mac is off too. So I want to know why the android OS is eating this battery up. Is there some fix on the way? I deleted every app and it still will show that android OS as the main battery hog by a lot. I only have gmail I don't have facebook updating anything so I really don't know what's going on.. I do know that when i used cpu spy the 300 megahertz was used for longer than the phone was in deep sleep. So something is using the CPU in that range non stop it seems.

My Admiral does not seem to have the fantastic battery life I have heard these phones are supposed to have. Under normal usage It will not last a day without charging. I noticed that "cell Standby" is always the highest on battery usage. It's always above 25%, most times higher than that (30% to 40%). The area where I work has poor cell reception inside the buildings so I often go 25% to 50% without a signal (Sprint). Is there anything I could do to improve any of this? This is a work phone with a work email address conected to it. So I cant use an app that turns off syncing. Will keeping on wifi improve this? Seems wifi uses less power than cell standby.

View 9 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while (has happened 2 times in as many weeks) the phone or dialer APP will suck battery and throw off my typical discharge time WITHOUT me ever placing a call (let alone opening the phone interface). For example, as shown in the attached, I'm down almost 70% on just 19 hours and change of use, with just 2.5 hours of screen on time, with the phone app draining 7% without any phone usage. Typically, I can make it 24+ hours with 4+ hours of screen time on that level of battery drain.
Aside from those instances, battery has been great on L. Used to get, typically, about 26 hours before charging at 25%. Now, I consistently get 29+ hours on the same usage.
