prior to the recent ota i had experienced many random reboots, usually when watching Internet video or listening to music while reading news app. i thought ota was supposed to fix some problems with reboots when phone was overloaded but since ota i am still experiencing some random reboots and warm battery under the same conditions as previosusly.
View 15 RepliesMy phone decides it want to reboot itself. I mean, I certainly don't know how my phone is feeling, so it can take the initiative and give itself a good rebooting when it needs it. Also, I don't know what motorola is making their batteries out of, but when I turn my phone off (or it decides to) I suddenly have more battery than I did previously. This kind of technology should be used more often so we never run out of juice on batteries of any kind.

Both my Atrix and my daughters Atrix show this. Both show different random data in the line and it appears to change over time. Anyone know if this is intentional?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe only issue I have had on my Droid 3, to this point, as been the terrible battery I have experienced, even having bought an extended battery. It's good to hear that there will hopefully be a fix for this soon.
I am wondering if anyone else has been having their Droid 3 reboot randomly for no reason at all? I have never had this issue, but for the last 3 days, it's been happening over and over. It happened 3 times yesterday, 2 the day before, and now the second time today.
I don't know if this was even an issue for anyone since this device has apparently had more issues than most, and I've been spared from the majority of them.
Twice now in the last week I have had the Turbo cut off the phone call and go to the black and white splash screen with the M for Motorola logo and then reboot. It has never rebooted any other time on its own except these two times while on a call.

View 1 Replies View Relatedthere have been many posts on this issue but no real answers. why?i have done a total of five factory resets on my atrix.second was through the android recovery menu. still reboots randomly.third was through the system menu and did not install any apps, just factory defaults. still reboots.fourth was after i got a new sim card from the att store. it was mentioned to try that out. you guessed it restarts/reboots randomly.fifth and current was through the android recovery menu with clearing the cache and creating a new moto blur account as well as leaving factory default apps. nope still does it.at this point i should have a new phone right. should be practically new! actually it is, still has the sticker on the back. most of my reboots seem to be data related. some are using the stock navigation app, happens every time i use it. what a pain to have the phone reset right before my exit comes up. some reboots are while surfing the web on wifi and att 3g. hell i've had the thing lock up and reboot while browsing files and looking through photos of my kids. even switching screens for cyring out loud. these mostly seem to happen during some sort of data transfer of sorts. web, netflix, Internet, ect.
my first atrix had these issues on froyo and i replaced it within the 30 day window. the second one was fine until gingerbread. i participated in the beta and the update locked it up and wouldn't even boot. this third atrix came with gingerbread stock from moto support and has rebooted since i took it out of the box.at this point i'm counting down the days till i'm do for an upgrade from att and plan to switch to the galaxy s ii. my galaxy tab 10.1 had not had a single problem since i unboxed it! the atrix problem were the main reason i didn't buy the xoom. i wonder if these problems with the atrix are the reason the atrix 2 came out so soon..well i wish there were a real solution because now that the lapdock and other accessories are close to $50.00 from att i was about to buy them. nope......not unless these issues were resolved. hell most likely wont be a repeat moto customer here.
So I'm on my third Atrix. First was within 30 day window with occasional random reboot, it was exchanged. The second was perfect up until the new OTA where I had issues with 4.5.91 installing and it was replaced with an upgraded Atrix with 4.5.91 already installed.he current one is rebooting twice daily and it's getting a little old. My question is where to I go from here? I have to be able to be contacted 24/7 for work, and got my peepee stepped on last time. So I cannot wait for an exchange.Can I reinstall 4.5.91 somehow and start from scratch? I've tried the factory reset and every combination of installing and uninstalling various apps I have. Even went a few days with not restoring any apps! I'm really thinking this may be software related, but could be wrong!

View 15 Replies View RelatedMy Atrix 2 (on AT&T) operating system was upgraded to 2.3.6 this morning and since then it has been continuously rebooting (going off then on again) every few minutes. I have removed the battery and replaced it. It still did it. I have NOT done a HARD reboot.
I am also getting the "Process system is not responding" error message and a blue bar that says that it is having trouble connecting to the network.
UPDATE:
After hours of rebooting, (I had it charging throughout the time) it has stopped and is acting "normally". I am worried that it will start again and I don't have a fix.
Here I am, 2 weeks later and it started continuously rebooting again. No new updates, no new apps, no new anything. What I did notice was that the battery was below 20%. I have plugged it in and will wait to see if it stops by itself again. The fix described below is requiring too much from a non-technical. I do not have Motoblur. My calendar and contacts are backed up to my gmail account and LOOKOUT.
It continued to reboot for over a day. I went to the AT&T store. They gave me a new phone!
My Atrix has been acting very unstable ever since the 2.3.4 update. It reboots everytime when the phone is connected to the HD dock or PC via the USB port during a phone call
View 12 Replies View RelatedI got my phone last May shortly after they came out. For the most part I havent had any issues at all with it. I use it to tether my laptop and until the last update it worked flawlessly when I connected a USB cable to it. Didnt matter whether I was charging or thethering it worked without a hitch. Once the recent update came out everytime I plug a USB into it the phone tells me the cable was attached and then reboots. Sometimes when i remove the cable it reboots.
I never had 1 issue at all till the recent update. Ive tried differant cables and differant computers. Never happens when i plug the charger into it only when attached to a computer. Ive read another thread on this topic and seemed to be brushed off by the folks here at Motorola. Im not saying your software is crap or your phones. Im saying there is a valid issue that needs to be addressed. Its not my phone hardware. Ive used it for months without 1 single issue and couldnt be happier with it. Something happened in that update. maybe not on everyones phone but its happened on some peoples phones. If not then it wouldnt be a reoccuring issue with several people. If 100 people experience and issue or even only 50 then its an issue. I really dont care to spend 100 dollars to get this phone replaced. I guarantee if it comes to that ill go with an Iphone.
I am having problems with random and frequent disconnects with the Atrix 4G when on Bluetooth while connected in a car. Initially my setup was using a Motorola Roadster and while playing audio I would randomly not get sound, then shortly after I would get the message that the phone was no longer connected to the Roadster.Usually it would eventually reconnect, sometimes almost immediately after. This would happen sometimes as often as every few minutes, while other times it could play a half hour or more before encountering the problem.
Initially I was unsure whether it was the Atrix itself or the Roadster, but after having recently purchased a Ford F-150 with SYNC bluetooth connect, I am encountering the exact same behavior with random disconnects. Unfortunately with the Ford SYNC, I never get it to automatically reconnect, and I must go into the phone, turn bluetooth off and back on, then manually reconnect from the phone.Most of the time I have the Atrix connected through the Motorola Car Dock, but I think the same behavior has occurred out of the dock.I have never noticed this same behavior with other bluetooth devices I have - Jawbone Icon, Monster iClarity speaker. I don't know if I have enough data to tell definitively or not, but I think I have only observed this when the auto was in motion.
I had a problem with my wi-fi (said "error" or rebooted everytime I tried to turn the wifi on), so I copied all my crap to my pc, and did a factory reset.Now my phone just reboots every few minutes.so I grabbed an image to go back to factory, and used RSD lite to flash it.

This is happening even after a factory reset. This had so far occured with Winamp (which I haven't reinstalled since my factory reset), Amazon MP3 and Google Music Beta. This has occured both while I was listening to the music on my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone ICON) and also just playing it back via the built-in speaker.

When I get a call and I accept it while being charged, Atrix reboots.Less frequently, if it doesn't reboot when I accept the call, and I disconnect the charged while being on the call, it reboots.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI live in New York city and I noticed when I get out of the tunnel and if I use the phone at the moment (read news on it or play games) it reboots. We don't have connection in subway, so pretty much every time I am out of the tunnel and find connection I get a reboot. It doesn't happen every time though, on some occasions it doesn't reboot.I thinl after last update it started happening more often, but I am not really sure about that since I noticed some occasional reboots before, but didn't put the getting out of tunnel and reboot together and after it happened several times I noticed.

On some occasions it's a flurry of touch events that I had to power the phone off. a couple of spots seem to have a higher tendecy.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the last few days, I've had a hard time waking up my Atrix. I push the power button and it doesn't react. I push it a few more times, and eventually it wakes up and works normally. My first thought was that the power/wake button was becoming defective, but I can press it many times in a row and it will sleep, wake, sleep wake, etc. No problems.
Then today I noticed my phone was shut off completely after I returned home from being out.
I booted it back up and the battery was showing 50%, so it clearly wasn't a low battery shutdown. I have apps that can monitor the system, and I've not found any that are using a lot of CPU or battery, so I'm not sure what the issue could be.
Is there any sort of a log I can look at, to try to determine the cause of the phone shutting off?
I'm currently on O2, and I'm about to switch to 3. I've put the new SIM in the phone, but when I try and make a call the dialler crashes and the phone reboots. I've read some other people have similar issues, but I can't seem to find a solution.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI use my Atrix as a mp3 player when at the gym so I don't miss any calls or texts. I was at the gym the other day and my phone reboots on it's own. When it restarts, the stock motorola music player is gone from my phone. I checked the app drawer and under manage applications, it looked like it was deleted. I then reboot my phone 3 times, to no avail. Music player is gone. I am not a huge fan of it because it sometime skips, but it's the only one that give me the ability to skip a song while the phone is locked. A few days pass and it happens again while I am using Winapp, but this time when the phone restarts, the music player is back.

I run 25 to 30 miles a week and the music player is really getting annoying! I've tried 4 different sets of headphones and it's definitely not the headphones themselves maybe something internal. Also on my second phone here. The first one started randomly resetting itself, also had skipping issues. This one only has the skipping issues so far.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAs an update, I got my phone to quite boot looping by wiping system, cache, and data. I then reinstalled 2.3.6 via computer. This has fixed everything except my wifi. I unistalled logcat and then found highlighted in red that my wifi drivers were not functioning correctly. This does annoy me but I can still use my phone!
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy Storm will reboot, seemingly without cause or warning, and sometimes take hours to reach the home screen again. When it does this it will go black, the red light will come on and it usually goes off after a short time. After that a black screen with a clock pops up and finally the BlackBerry screen with the loading bar at the bottom. It goes through this process several times before it will turn on. When it does come on it tells me the battery is drained, even if it was fully charged before it shut off. It makes it pointless to keep paying for a phone.

This is very odd and I'm starting to believe it's a firmware bug so I ask you to report this to the dev team. Basically the phone will reboot and that's it, but not a full reboot, because it won't ask for pin code, it will just close all apps, play the boot animation, and go back to the lock screen. The only way to tell it happened is either to be looking at the phone as it reboots or check under diagnostics -> system incidents. My phone is totally stock and I don't have anything too weird installed that would mess with the system. It has been factory reset and refurbished.
