Motorola Atrix 2 ME865 :: Unable To Add New Contact?
Jun 12, 2012I am unable to add the new contact. As I try to add any new number through dialer or directly from add contact, it won't be visible in my contact book. But if I add through dialer, and dial it, It will be visible in my Recently dialed number, but not in the contact list.

Sep 14, 20121. After the upgrade Music App which came preloaded in GB 2.3.6 is no longer available in ICS. ( i got app hellobob - member atrix 2)I purchased this mobile phone because of music clarity & superb beats which were in the music app CMP preloaded in 2.3.6. There were some disadvantages with this player but agianst sound clarity they were nothing.
2. After the upgrade Task manager app is also not available.
3. music player haas been replaced with googles glay music app (google Play) which is totally upsetting, no clarity in the sound, noisy sharp voice, no beats clarity. (nokia mobile which are within 2000rs play better than this.)
4. Unable to control the memory consumed by runnig application,. of 1 GB RAM if you continue install more app phone will start hanging beccause of you are unable to control the running process which are consuming lot of memory. This is big drawback in terms of performance of mobile.
5. No option to above in the phone settings. No of processes shifts to standad every time when you restart the phone. This setting is availble under developer option, i am not sure if this control the running apps.
6. Upon the power button press immediately open up password screen for enterprise users this is sometimes may cause problem if user keeping mobile pocket & get keys preseed automatically, or keys pressed by kids or friends not knowing the password. Additionaly no of attemps remaining is not displaying, earlier used to display the same. This is really big drawback - as entire phone data will be erased including data on SD card.
7. Vibration control features are not available.There are some more important basic simple phone features in terms of user options ( accessbility) missing in motorola atrix 2 (may be other motorola phones as well) - major drawback - which I shall open another thread to discuss the same. This features I had in my Nokia 6233 which I had purchased 6 years back (might have been designed 7yrs back). That was just an 7 MB ROM mobile. These missing features really making me unhappy with Atrix 2/Motorola.

Jan 9, 2013When I receive a new SMS message it shows up in the universal inbox widget. But when I tap on the arrow to reply to this message, I can type a reply but there is no send button. If I go to the actual message thread I can reply and send, no problem. But how can I get the send button to appear when replying to messages via the universal inbox?

Nov 26, 2012I bought my brand new Motorola Atrix 2, a week back in India and am facing a peculiar problem with the phone. I am on Vodafone network and have a 3G plan with them, but my phone does not connect to the 3G network at all.
After reading several posts in the forum, I found out that it was a software problem with the phone and I had to install a 3rd party software from the Google Play site called "Network" to solve the problem.I also upgraded my software to ICS and that happened smoothly but my wifi is also not stable and keeps disconnecting every 3 to 4 minutes? Is there anyone who can help me with this as well.

But if at any point I go to play other music in my music library, it turns into a generic alert tone, until I power my phone off and back on. Aug 4, 2011So I'm on my third Atrix. First was within 30 day window with occasional random reboot, it was exchanged. The second was perfect up until the new OTA where I had issues with 4.5.91 installing and it was replaced with an upgraded Atrix with 4.5.91 already installed.he current one is rebooting twice daily and it's getting a little old. My question is where to I go from here? I have to be able to be contacted 24/7 for work, and got my peepee stepped on last time. So I cannot wait for an exchange.Can I reinstall 4.5.91 somehow and start from scratch? I've tried the factory reset and every combination of installing and uninstalling various apps I have. Even went a few days with not restoring any apps! I'm really thinking this may be software related, but could be wrong!

Apr 15, 2012I am having problems with random and frequent disconnects with the Atrix 4G when on Bluetooth while connected in a car. Initially my setup was using a Motorola Roadster and while playing audio I would randomly not get sound, then shortly after I would get the message that the phone was no longer connected to the Roadster.Usually it would eventually reconnect, sometimes almost immediately after. This would happen sometimes as often as every few minutes, while other times it could play a half hour or more before encountering the problem.
Initially I was unsure whether it was the Atrix itself or the Roadster, but after having recently purchased a Ford F-150 with SYNC bluetooth connect, I am encountering the exact same behavior with random disconnects. Unfortunately with the Ford SYNC, I never get it to automatically reconnect, and I must go into the phone, turn bluetooth off and back on, then manually reconnect from the phone.Most of the time I have the Atrix connected through the Motorola Car Dock, but I think the same behavior has occurred out of the dock.I have never noticed this same behavior with other bluetooth devices I have - Jawbone Icon, Monster iClarity speaker. I don't know if I have enough data to tell definitively or not, but I think I have only observed this when the auto was in motion.

Feb 23, 2012prior to the recent ota i had experienced many random reboots, usually when watching Internet video or listening to music while reading news app. i thought ota was supposed to fix some problems with reboots when phone was overloaded but since ota i am still experiencing some random reboots and warm battery under the same conditions as previosusly.

Sep 8, 2012Currently, I am using WMP 12 (WIn 7 Prof) to sync my music library to Atrix 2 using Windows Media Sync option under USB connections. When I add any new songs to my library and then sync, the new song is added to my phone. However, when I delete a song from my library (and computer), that song won't get deleted from my phone after sync. I can manually delete songs on phone from WMP but I would like if I don't have to keep track if the sync works correctly.

May 12, 2011For the last few days, I've had a hard time waking up my Atrix. I push the power button and it doesn't react. I push it a few more times, and eventually it wakes up and works normally. My first thought was that the power/wake button was becoming defective, but I can press it many times in a row and it will sleep, wake, sleep wake, etc. No problems.
Then today I noticed my phone was shut off completely after I returned home from being out.
I booted it back up and the battery was showing 50%, so it clearly wasn't a low battery shutdown. I have apps that can monitor the system, and I've not found any that are using a lot of CPU or battery, so I'm not sure what the issue could be.
Is there any sort of a log I can look at, to try to determine the cause of the phone shutting off?
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Random Reboots And Magically Self Charging Battery
Jul 28, 2011My phone decides it want to reboot itself. I mean, I certainly don't know how my phone is feeling, so it can take the initiative and give itself a good rebooting when it needs it. Also, I don't know what motorola is making their batteries out of, but when I turn my phone off (or it decides to) I suddenly have more battery than I did previously. This kind of technology should be used more often so we never run out of juice on batteries of any kind.

Apr 22, 2011Has anyone had any issues with the music player skipping about 30 seconds into any songs? Not just once but a few times while using. I run 25 to 30 miles a week and the music player is really getting annoying! I've tried 4 different sets of headphones and it's definitely not the headphones themselves maybe something internal. Also on my second phone here. The first one started randomly resetting itself, also had skipping issues. This one only has the skipping issues so far.

I tend to keep my phone's home pages as minimalistic as possible, only have one, and use Circle launcher on that one page to access my most used apps. Occasionally my phone adds a shortcut to a random app on a second homepage, sometimes its an Icon for an app that no longer is installed on the device. I really like the ability on the Moto devices to customize the # of start screens, the swipe up features of the locked icons at the bottom of the screen for a quick glance is a really nice touch, works great.

Sep 29, 2011I've got a very strange problem. When I try to set a contact as a favorite by pressing the star it flashes a couple of times and then goes out. When I go to the favorites tab a different contact is now the favorite. No matter which contact I try to make a favorite only that one contact becomes a favorite. The same goes for ringtones. If I try to set a ringtone for a contact it remains the default ringtone and the same contact that always gets flagged as a favorite gets assigned the ringtone. I have tried refreshing my phone and starting over to no avail. This used to work even after upgrading to GB.

I select text message >menu setting > messaging settings > select ringtone. But it doesn't offer the option to select a custom one.I've tried putting an mp3/m4a track in the notification folder by connecting the phone to a usb cable and pc, but the tracks dont show up in the select ringtone setting?

Feb 15, 2012I've had an Atrix2 since Mid-Nov.2011, and have really had no problems with it so far except a couple apps freezing and having to reboot the phone. But just recently, when I have had to reboot the phone (y'know just cuz u need to reboot a computer sometimes to make it work better) the ringtones I have set as the main ringtone and the notification sounds get reset to random mp3 songs I have downloaded on the phone. It's a different one every time this has happened, too. It doesn't even reset to the AT&T tone that it came with. I have two apps that may affect it. "Zedge Ringtones" and "MP3 Ringtone Maker." This also happened the other day but didn't notice it till my alarm went off to wake up in the AM. The audio for THAT was not was previously set. So, I really don't know HOW this is happening. I do have an aftermarket alarm app called "Alarm Clock Plus." (I have a separate issue with the factory alarm app for another thread)

I can get to contacts through the applications list but can't seem to get it to work from there. I need to know how to select the contact and go from there.
