I have a song from my music library set as my ringtone and as far as just using it when it turns on it works fine. But if at any point I go to play other music in my music library, it turns into a generic alert tone, until I power my phone off and back on. I figure if I could stop the music in my library instead of just pause it that would work, but I see no way to do that.

Can I assign mp3 songs as a MESSAGE ALERT TONE. I can assign an mp3 song for Ringtone but not for MESSAGE ALERT TONE it only lists AAC tones.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased an album of Alert Tones off of iTunes, but they appear as music on my iPhone, instead of as tones so I can change my alerts in Settings > Sounds. All of the tones are only 3 - 5 seconds long, so they clearly are not "songs". I cannot figure out how to "move/convert" them to being sounds (alerts), not songs/music. What makes me even more crazy is that if I purchase a single tone, it will go into my Settings > Sounds as an alert/ringtone, but when I purchase the whole album of alert tones, they are saved as music.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI use my Motorola Bravo with headphones to play music when I walk. However, I'd also like to be able to play the music through speakers in order to pump the volume. However, when I plug in external speakers to my phone, the music sounds like it does through headphones. When I remove the speakers from the phone, the music plays louder than when I have speakers plugged in.
How can I use my phone to play music through speakers properly? Is there a sound setting that I'm missing to switch back and forth? I want something like when you put an iPhone into a docking station and you can hear the music clearly on the other side of the room.
Just recently my pc began having a problem recognizing my Bravo as a phone. Until then everything was fine.Now when I plug my Bravo into a USB port, I hear a chime, but no window opens.When I go to My Computer, the phone is shown as Removeable Disk (X:).When I double click on it, a small window opens with this message: "Insert Disk.Please insert a disk into drive X:." Under properties, it appears as Motorola MB520 USB Device, a disk drive.After plenty of research, I have tried changing the assigned letter of the drive twice.Every other USB device I own works just fine on my PC. The only way I can access the phone on my PC is to turn off the pc, connect the phone, power on the pc, and then the phone appears as a phone. When I connect the phone to another pc, the phone appears as it should.Some research shows this problem may be related to Acronis on my pc, but another pc with Acronis on it can recognize my phone. Could this be the result of disconnecting the phone without "preparing" the disconnect?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.

After I updated the software, my phone will randomly restart itself. It will go to a black screen, then reboot on its own. I have tried two refurb phones from ATT and a new battery, and it still does it. I even got a new SD card, thinking that maybe it was a memory issue. Ok I can add ringtones no problem although a bit dissapointed that there are so many restrictions on them have been able to use any sound file on my last 3 nokia phones with out a problem, but I'm unable to add new alert tones

I used to have a Pearl which was much easier to navigate but my husband spilled beer on it and effectively destroyed the thing. I LOATHE having to reset all of my preferences, etc, and for some reason or other I can't seem to locate how to set a tone alert for new emails.

I am trying to make some ringtones to use alerts. These mp3's are very short, like 1-2 seconds long. So far, I am unable to even play a 1-2 second mp3 in the media player. And when I save it as a ringtone, it doesn't play either. I am able to play a longer mp3 like a song just fine, it's just the short ones that are causing problems. Is there some special way I need to save these file so that they can be played on the BB?

I get no text or icon notices, just the tone at 9:39 and 3:39. Strange.....I have tried several battery pulls, Downgraded BBM (to 4.6) and then uninstalled BB Messenger, then reinstalled BBM 5. Still the same thing. There are no tasks running no recurring appointments or anything.
