BB Curve :: Delete Mail From Device Or Server Or Both Option?
Dec 15, 2010I upgraded my 9360 OS recently from OS 7.0 to v 7.1.0.336, Platform 9.6.0.51. Since the upgrade I no longer have the option to delete e-mails on handheld only or on the server as well. I really enjoyed having the option to delete totally or just from my handheld and then view the mail later on my pc.When I delete a mail from my BB now, it just deletes it from my device and leaves it on the server without the option to delete it there as well.

Nov 7, 2011My very small company uses Exchange Server 2003 to host our own email. On my laptop, I use Outlook. When I'm out of the office I connect my laptop to the internet and access my exchange mail via an IMAP account. With that connection, I can send mail using the SMTP server. I got my new Atrix 2 and set up that account using the advanced settings that were the closest to the settings I use for the IMAP account in my Outlook setup. I was immediately able to see my inbox and receive email. After one tweak (that I can't remember any more), I was able to sent mail. Then a few hours later, I couldn't. I've tried every possible combination of the Advanced Settings in the Account Setup screens on the phone. Nothing works. I tried a Master Reset and all that accomplished was flushing away the contact list that the salesperson had copied to my new Atrix from my old phone when I bought it. I thought that was backed up to Google and would be restored when I logged back in but apparently not. Any advice on how to get that back? But the main problem is sending mail.

Apr 11, 2012about 6 months ago my mother in law purchased an Iphone. I set up her email for her using a pop 3. At the time I could not get the godaddy outgoing email server to work so I used my local ISP provied outgoing smtp server with my user name and password.
Now my mother in law moved to a different sate and she got a new iphone but my outgoing mail server still shows up as the primary outgoing mail server so she still needs my user name and password.
Also on my iphone I noticed there are 8 "other smtp servers" in addition to the primary. I want to delete them all.

Mar 14, 2012I recently upgraded from the D1 to the D4 and have my Hotmail account set up via Corporate Sync. Incoming messages sync correctly but messages I delete on the phone do not delete from the server. On the D1 the two-way sync worked correctly for emails deleted on the phone but I can't seem to get it to work on the D4.My settings for the corporate sync account are:Username: full @hotmail email addressPassword: passwordServer: m.hotmail.comUse secure connection: yesProxy: blankAnyone else having this problem? Aug 21, 2011This occurred after I installed few applications with the version that came with the phone in February. After the upgrade to gingerbread, it worked for a few days then acted up again. After a hard reset to factory, all working and the applications that seem to mess with the updater are weather related; my most suspicion is the Go Weather but cant isolate it for sure!

Jan 18, 2012I have always been able to delete emails on my Atrix and still be able to download them on my PC later.I'm using the standard IMAP configuration that sets itself up to AT&T automatically.I have not altered those settings.I've deleted my 2 email accounts on my Atrix and reinstalled them.I can't find any options on my Atrix that allow me to choose to leave messages on the server.On my PC, I'm using Outlook 2007.In the email account configurations, I have checked the box that says "Leave a copy of the message on server".I have uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled it. No change.I also downloaded Mozilla's Thunderbird for email, to see if it also happened using software other than Outlook.It did.
I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T tech support yesterday.They hacked into my PC to check all of my email settings and couldn't find a problem.They're telling me it's the phone.I"m telling them it's the server!Every once in a while, a deleted email shows up on the PC, as usual, but it's rare, and only seems to happen in one account.

Jan 10, 2012today my company's email provider changed the hostname for the Exchange server, so I'm stuck with my E72 not syncronizing any more, since I can't edit the server name field in the configuration properties.First of all: is this behavior by design? Because in case it is, the "Change" item in the Options menu should really be removed.

Whith my Droid when I delete a email it still stays on server and therefore shows up as unread in Outlook.

Apr 27, 2012I have a Droid Razr. I love the phone. I use the email application that looks like an envelope with a "@" partially sticking out of it. It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). I've looked and looked and can't find a setting on the phone that would prevent this.

One is a GMail account configured in the "GMail" App. The other is a Time Warner Road Runner account configured in the "EMail" App.The GMail account works fine. I can send and receive e-mail over 3G/4G and WiFi.However, the Road Runner account will not send e-mail when connected via 3G/4G. I can receive e-mailjust fine and I can send and receive just fine when connected via WiFi.When I try to send an e-mail over 3G/4G, I get a notification that says "Road Runner message not sent. Oct 26, 2011Because of a number of unpleasant changes in behavior in my Atrix over the past few weeks, I decided to perform another factory reset, clearing all internal storage and starting from scratch - this is the 6th one of these I have performed since the GB update. For whatever reason, after this reset the e-mail "postage stamp" icon that had mysteriously turned gray after the GB update and remained gray in the subsequent 5 resets has turned back to red. I didn't change my Motoblur account, use a different e-mail account, or do anything consciously different. This behavior reminds me of how much more difficult it is to engineer software than virtually any other manufacturing discipline. It is impossible to test every combination of conditions through which a piece of software must behave correctly (or at least not catastrophically). I am curious to see what other behaviors may improve or decline after this reset.

Jan 25, 2011I have a POP3 server that I use with my BB and with Outlook. Messages I read with the BB get left on the server and I get them with outlook just fine. However, just in the last couple of weeks, messages I SEND from the BB also get left in the sent-mail folder on my mail server, which has been causing my mailbox to fill up if I don't log in every couple of days and delete them. How do I turn that off. I see no option either in the Messages application or in the Email Setup Wizard that controls sent mail.

Aug 4, 2011I am having an issue where if I am using the email client with my work MS Exchange email. If I try to forward an email with an attachment from my phone, the message sends but is hung up in the outbox and I receive message failed retry.The phone continues to resend(successfully) every ~3 minutes and continues to disply message failed to send notification in the notification bar.
There is no way to delete the message from outbox (i try and says can't be deleted while sending) or otherwise stop this retry function.I have now send 20+ large emails to 2 different people.The only way I have found to fix is to delete the account and setup again.
