does anyone know how to set up pop3 email on this phone yet? Surely someone at Nokia must know? crazy thing is, when I got the phone, I did get someone at orange to set it up for me & it worked fine for a while but now all i get is a message telling me "there is a communication error, try later"! needless to say "later" has never arrived even after 7 months!
Ive been told most newer phones have gone back to providing FULL & comprehensive sets of instructions so users can find out how to do stuff like this!
I can't send any email when I am using POP3 email, I have the same set up that I have in my iphone before. When I push send, the email goes to outbox and it will never send.
Should my inbox on E72 contain old email? All I have is new email recieved. I have no way of referring back to earlier emails other than to refer back to my inbox using a PC. Is there any settings I can /should change to enable 'read' mail to stay in my E72 inbox? This is a bit of an inconvenience that I could do with some help with. The email account I am using is a blueyonder address through Virgin Media.
I use outlook with a POP3 e-mail account that syncs (new mail) with my iphone and ipad2. Is there a way or program that will allow me to delete e-mail from one device and also delete it from my pc and my iphone and/or ipad2 (depending on which device I happen to be on)?
after I updated to the new v50 software I can't seem to be able to find a way to set up a pop3 homtail account. every option to set up an email leads me to the nokia messaging app which I don't like to use as the sync option is seriously unreliable. I can set up a pop3 account?
I have two professional accounts forwarded to one gmail account through pop3. I have that gmail account on my 8330. So, whenever someone sends an email to my professional account, it shows up on my BB, great. However, when I hit reply on my BB, the from address shows up as my gmail address, not the professional address I want it to show. Is there a way to fix this?
I just bought an unlocked storm2 free and clear - no contract (upgraded from Curve with no data plan). I have continuous wi-fi as my internet company provides me with unlimited wi-fi access wherever I go in the US so my plan is to access my e-mail thru wi-fi.
Is pop3 e-mail set up possible without BES, BIS or data plan? Is there a 3rd party e-mail apllication available for blackberry, much like for pc where you can configure a 3rd party software (i.e., ms outlook, ms express, etc.) for your e-mail.
Right now the only way I can check my e-mail is by logging into the internet via wi-fi and going to my internet provider's web site. That is a hassle though as I have to go thru several steps before I can actually check my e-mails.
On my Storm 2 - 9520 I cannot add an email account. I have a pop3 account with an ISP which I download my emails on my pc. When I try configure it on my new BB I get login errors. The error states cannot login to account, check all settings. I have checked and re-entered the settings dozens of times with no success.
I've had comcast POP3 email set up and working on K9 email since the phone came out. It has suddenly stopped working on my LG G4. My other 6 email accounts are still working perfectly on K9 (yahoo, att, iCloud and mindspring).
I can still download email normally on my Mac using MacMail. I can still download email on my Droid2 using the default email app (don't ask - I keep it to troubleshoot and play games).
I have installed and tested the default LG mail app, MyMail and they don't work. There have been comments on other email apps that they are not working.
Xfinity Connect works from my LG G4, but functions as a IMAP connection, and deletes email from the server when deleted on the phone, which is obviously NOT what I need.
Even though the N6 is my personal mobile; when I'm out & about it's handy to have my business emails coming in to me so I can reply to them where necessary so I've set this up and it's been great on days like this where I've decided to have a day out of the office etc...
Anyway; on my Note 4 I can set in the settings it so that every email I reply to; it'll 'CC' me in on the reply. However, I cannot find this option on the N6.
I deleted and re-setup the email account twice and now I only receive automatic emails from servers like apple and outlook. The SMTP settings are great and I can send emails with no problem. I have tried resetting the phone(home and sleep/wake buttons) and I have completely deleted the email account on the phone and set it up again twice. The settings are correct. I am not receiving any error messages at all. The problem is the phone is not downloading any emails from the POP3 server. The Only emails I have received since I setup the account again has been from Apple to let me know my password was reset, and one from Outlook to let me know I had tested my settings on my laptop. I am able to send/receive emails on my laptop using the same pop3 server. I have changed the Fetch New Data settings to every available option and it has not made any difference. It connects to the server and says its updated but no emails show up.
My small business has recently moved to a new dedicated server and after working fine at first, I am now unable to set up any of our mailboxes on any BlackBerry device (tried Torch, Bold, Curve) on any carrier (Rogers, Bell in Canada and T-Mobile, AT&T in US). I try the basic setup (email address and password) and then when that fails, the advanced settings (which are necessary as my email username is non-standard; it is always username+example.com when the address is username@example.com and the mail server is mail.example.com). After a long "Processing..." I am told "Invalid email address and password. ... If the error persists, contact "my server" The thing is, all of these mailboxes works fine in any other email client with the same settings (Outlook, Thunderbird, iPad, etc) and as I said, worked fine a couple of times on BlackBerry before now not working at all. In a basic sense I am the administrator of my server, though I have been on with my hosting provider's support and they are baffled as well. This problem is not happening on any of their other similar hosted servers, just mine. whether there is some process, some address, something at RIM that must be permitted to communicate with my mail server tha could potentially be blocked somehow. My default mail server is Dovecot (including the BlackBerry "Fastmail" service, which worked fabulously before this started)
I have just changed from a BlackBerry to the htc Desire S & am having all sorts of problems trying to persuade it to deal with my pop3 emails. I've religiously followed the instructions & the Incoming settings are accepted but when I put in the Outgoing details it always comes up with "Your outgoing server does not support authentication. Please verify your outgoing server settings". I am not a computer/phone expert but managed to set up my BlackBerry without any problem. In this case, after several failures I copied the settings as in my Outlook Internet email settings. No luck.I contacted the technical dept of Zen (the ISP) they were very knowledgeable & helpful but, after 90 minutes effort finally gave up.
All instructions on the htc site just repeat the user manual instructions which, in this case, does not work. I've emailed htc but have received no reply. I contacted the service provider - Vodafone. They advised that it is difficult to operate pop3 emails with the standard mobile phone Server port at 25 & suggested that I if I wish to use my business email address (rather that getting a new gmail one) then I would be best advised to return the phone & get a new BlackBerry. I find it hard to believe that it is not possible to receive & send normal emails on a modern smartphone & am hoping that someone may be able to guide my through an installation/troubleshooting process that will work.
I created a POP3 account using the "Accounts" app. All is good, it can send & receive emails & they appear in the Blur messaging widgets, which I like.My problem is that I do not want the phone to delete the emails from the server as I get my main PC's Outlook to download & store all the emails when it is switched on.Can it be done? It would be a nice new feature to add if it isn't already in.
After upgrading to Belle FP2 I can only set Exchange ActiveSync accounts, and only one at a time. The "other" option to set other types of email is no longer available. How can I configure IMAP/POP3 accounts?
I have a pop-3 mail account with road runner, do you know if the "Counter" works with that? It usually shows a number of how many emails received. Notifications are working however it doesn't show on the email icon, it did on the SGS2,. I tried sending you a PM, but your not in the Directory?
I'm using the stock email client on a Droid3 and a DroidX with a Verizon POP3 email account. If an Office 2007 file is sent as an attachment (.docx, .xslx, .pptx) it shows up a "unsupported file type" and cannot be downloaded or saved. I have both QuickOffice and DocumentsToGo installed and the files open fine with those apps and are recognized attachments I use the K9 email client with the same Verizon POP3 email account. Is there any way to get the stock email client to recognize that .docx, etc are valid file attachments and allow them to be downloaded and viewed
I can't get the default email client to behave like a pop3 client. Apart from some small bugs, like if inbox is empty you can't get to your sent folder, I can send and receive emails properly. However, I can't find a normal pop3 setting Leave mail on server. Which means it will download all new messages from the server, and nothing else. Now it more or less behaves like a mapi client and syncs against the server and removes all messages from the inbox that I have deleted from the server. But I want to have the messages on the phone until I delete them.Any email program out there that I can use on the Nokia E7 that can be used as a normal pop3 client? Apart from this email problem I would say that Nokia E7 is the best phone I have had so far. If I only could get the Nokia E7 hardware and use N900 software it would be perfect
(This used to work before on other Nokia-phones) When I try to add a new email POP3 account of type "other" from within Nokia Mail I get a prompt with a @ where I put my name before, as usual, but it's not possible to write the domain after the @ - the cursor refuses to move beyond the @ ! If I skip the domain part and press OK it responds "Invalid email address" The E6 is freshly updated to 22.014.
I'm looking for some help with my C3. Since last Friday 30 March all attempts to send or reply to emails have failed and they will not send. Prior to this everything was fine.
Since Friday I have updated the software, reset the phone and deleted and reinstalled the email account but nothing has resolved the problem.
I can login, download and vew email's I just can't reply or create new mails.
I have a problem, I have a Nokia c6 and everytime I synchronize my emails the server delete them from the internet.I'd like to have my email boths on the internet (when I use my notebook) and on my nokia c6!I think I have to change something in "settings" but I nedd to know what and where!
I recently bought a C3 unlocked--I'm loving the build quality, and the phone mostly meets my expectations. However, there's one problem I haven't been able to wrap my head around: how do I assign non-stock-OS apps to the email shortcut button (the physical button above end call)?
I recently bought a Nokia c3. I can connect to all the internet services ie opera browser, facebook, email, msn messenger via WLAN. When I want to connect through o2 Wap, I can only access the Opera browser. None of the other services like facebook or email will work.
