After upgrading to Belle FP2 I can only set Exchange ActiveSync accounts, and only one at a time. The "other" option to set other types of email is no longer available. How can I configure IMAP/POP3 accounts?
View 3 RepliesThe email client on my N8 with Belle suddenly stopped working. I have configured my email with IMAP (Standard not OVI!) and it was working OK until a couple of days ago. Now I can not retrieve/send any email - I always get the message: "Unable to sign in. Try again.". I also tried and removed this particular account and added it once again (as a matter of fact I did this about 10 times!!!) but still no emails are shown. Of course this same mail is working perfectly on all of my PCs and notebooks.

No matter which email address I put into it the only option is gives me is "Exchange ActiveSync". I cannot seem to be able to add any other kind of mailbox to it.

I use same in my outlook and symbian to access mail.
There used to be an option whereby you could print photos via usb cable to a printer. This option has been removed - was there a reason for this, or is it a bug? It would be great if the developers could issue a small update that would address this problem. My phone (N8) has a fantastic camera and not being able to print photos from it is very disappointing. I know there is a workaround by transferrring photos to a computer first and then printing from there, but that is a hassle and shouldn't be necessary.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had comcast POP3 email set up and working on K9 email since the phone came out. It has suddenly stopped working on my LG G4. My other 6 email accounts are still working perfectly on K9 (yahoo, att, iCloud and mindspring).
I can still download email normally on my Mac using MacMail. I can still download email on my Droid2 using the default email app (don't ask - I keep it to troubleshoot and play games).
I have installed and tested the default LG mail app, MyMail and they don't work. There have been comments on other email apps that they are not working.
Xfinity Connect works from my LG G4, but functions as a IMAP connection, and deletes email from the server when deleted on the phone, which is obviously NOT what I need.

My small business has recently moved to a new dedicated server and after working fine at first, I am now unable to set up any of our mailboxes on any BlackBerry device (tried Torch, Bold, Curve) on any carrier (Rogers, Bell in Canada and T-Mobile, AT&T in US). I try the basic setup (email address and password) and then when that fails, the advanced settings (which are necessary as my email username is non-standard; it is always username+example.com when the address is username@example.com and the mail server is mail.example.com). After a long "Processing..." I am told "Invalid email address and password. ... If the error persists, contact "my server" The thing is, all of these mailboxes works fine in any other email client with the same settings (Outlook, Thunderbird, iPad, etc) and as I said, worked fine a couple of times on BlackBerry before now not working at all. In a basic sense I am the administrator of my server, though I have been on with my hosting provider's support and they are baffled as well. This problem is not happening on any of their other similar hosted servers, just mine. whether there is some process, some address, something at RIM that must be permitted to communicate with my mail server tha could potentially be blocked somehow. My default mail server is Dovecot (including the BlackBerry "Fastmail" service, which worked fabulously before this started)

Anyway, I cannot add my email server setup. I use IMAP under SSL but with a self signed certificate. All my other phones or computer take it but warn me about the self signed certificates. The X10 mini pro just says that it cannot validate my server settings!

It is set up now as an IMAP but I seem to get emails 30min or more after I receive them on my laptop wich has windows live on it set as POP3. My old droid incredible was set up as POP I also use charter email wich always seems to give people issues..I am wondering wich to use to get emails both on my phone and laptop the best. I also use Exchange sync for work and that works flawlessly. The rest of the phone is great.

I cant seem to find a way of getting any email notifications, when i have a missed call or a new text message the lock screen shows this but it doesnt show anything for new emails. Is this the way Nokia have done it or am i just being stupid and cant find the right setting to turn notifications on?

I'm trying to set up a POP3 email account on BIS but it always defaults to IMAP. I've tried solutions such as leaving the password blank so that I can manually enter the settings, but it still defaults to IMAP. The POP3 settings are correct, and I've used them for Outlook, etc.

Looking at how much it takes to crash it when attaching pics, it seems to be about 500k bytes, which is TINY. My E51 could email 10MB, in or out.
I haven't yet tested it with say a 10MB PDF, but is this documented anywhere?
So far I love it, however, one of the most important things for me is accessing my school e-mail, and porting it through the phone. My school uses the GMAIL platform, and I have all of the information that would be required, but I have absolutely no idea how to configure it to work on my phone. I've tried logging in via the computer (which gives me a prompt saying I need to use my phone), and I've tried logging in through the phone but I never get enough options to edit the ports and SMTP/mail addresses.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my curve for over a year now on my Orange contract. I have just been given a new Sim Card by my company. This Sim card is with Vodafone. I got my phone unlocked and the new Sim card is working fine for everything but emails. There isnt even an option to set-up the email accounts!!
I contacted Vodafone and they said that the phone had already been registered with an email server. Which it has beacause i was using it with my other Orange contract. All they could suggest was buying a new handset!! But surely that means if anyone sells their blackberry handset, the new owner wont be able to use email, this cant be right.
I bought a Blackberry Torch 9800 from a reseller and tried to setup email but the only option available is Enterprise. THe carrier, O2, can't help. How do I get all the email setup options back?The Torch was to replace a Bold stolen the day before. It was PIN protected but not backed up, nor did it have recovery or tracking software. Is there a way to trace it if it used again?
