Nov 1, 2012I have set this up three times now and it works for 2 or 3 days but then loses my SMTP password (smtp.hosts.co.uk).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have reasonable, but limited, BB exposure over a number of years, but always in a simple email scenario (typically one handset, accessing a single POP3 account). However, for reasons that I will skip over at this point in time for simplicity, we now need to set up a 9300 (on BT, here in the UK) to be able receive from one (POP3) server, but send out via another (SMTP).Unfortunately, however, the BT web interface (BIS ?) only allows one address for "server".
View 1 Replies View RelatedI created email accounts that use POP3 to receiv and SMTP to send and find I can receive mail but my sent emails get an authentication error. I originally thought they were not being sent at all but then I decided to let them remain in the out folder. After 6 hours they were finally sent. Some take 1 1/2 hours. So it seems that to send email out with a SMTP (roadrunner account) it can take from 1 1/2 hours to 6 hours. The gmail accounts work just fine, but I don't use gmail except for people I am not sure of and do not want their emails in my roadrunner account. Yes, I have my POP3 and SMTP set up correctly. If I didn't I wouldn't be able to send or receive at all. I have removed them and put them back, turned my phone off and let it rest and turned it back on many times.
I have talked to Motorola and the person I talked to yesterday has referred the problem to a tech person further up the ladder. I have read about other problems of this kind on sites on the web when I googled a question about it, but I am not always trusting of the unknown sites. This is a Motorola help site so I am hoping the information here will be more accurate and trustworthy.
FYI, I just read something from a site that said to use gmail as the outgoing smtp. Well, I switched the smtp for one of the roadrunner accounts to use .gmail.com as the smtp. It seems to have the same problem.
After upgrading to Belle FP2 I can only set Exchange ActiveSync accounts, and only one at a time. The "other" option to set other types of email is no longer available. How can I configure IMAP/POP3 accounts?
View 3 Replies View RelatedUnable to define server settings when setting up IMAP or POP3 mailbox. Setup Wizard no longer gives these options when selecting OTHER as your email client type.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've searched and searched for the answer to this and can't find a satisfactory answer, so here goes. I'm trying to set up a POP3 email account on BIS but it always defaults to IMAP. I've tried solutions such as leaving the password blank so that I can manually enter the settings, but it still defaults to IMAP. The POP3 settings are correct, and I've used them for Outlook, etc.
View 12 Replies View RelatedSo far I love it, however, one of the most important things for me is accessing my school e-mail, and porting it through the phone. My school uses the GMAIL platform, and I have all of the information that would be required, but I have absolutely no idea how to configure it to work on my phone. I've tried logging in via the computer (which gives me a prompt saying I need to use my phone), and I've tried logging in through the phone but I never get enough options to edit the ports and SMTP/mail addresses.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAccording to my IT guy I need to get my phone to pull emails out either on port 995 for SSL POP3 or on port 993 for SSL IMAP. My phone errors out when I setup the account through the phone. Koodo does not allow setting it up through a browser. They say the server I have used my 8830 on for years is not compatible with my new 9360 and that it is a Blackberry problem!

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having a problem with their Lumia 822 losing it's data connection? My phone loses it's data connection at least once a day. The only way I have found to get it back, is to turn the phone off and back on, which is a pain. It seems to happen a lot at night, but has happened a couple of times during the day. It can be hours before I notice that nothing is coming in or updating.

I keep getting this message on my phone when I try to get my email: The username or password for imap.gmail.com is incorrect. It is correct. I can access it on my computer with ease. what gives?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to use an SMTP server which is not provided by the operator (network or broadband). The only form of authentication catered for seems to be "POP before SMTP" where you have to authorise sending using the same login as you first receive with.
Settings I see are:
Incoming : there is no field for remote mailbox address - weird?
Outgoing: there IS a field for remote mailbox address - why? The username and password fields provided seem to relate to this remote mailbox address, not to the SMTP server. (Anyway, they already exist in incoming settings)
E.g. I can receive from my remote mailbox fine. That's "me@tiscali.co.uk" I can't authenticate using the "smtp.o2.co.uk" server to send using my address of "me@tiscali.co.uk" as there is nowhere to enter my o2 authentication details. (I can send unauthorised to o2 addresses)
The above example works fine in Profimail email client and with Profimail I can send emails carrying the "me@tiscali.co.uk" address with o2 authentication via the o2 SMTP server by either t-mobile network or by tiscali broadband WLAN to any of various test addresses.
Just upgraded my 6700 firmware and the email app got replaced by a new one version 1.2.19. Despite doing it via OVI Suite on the PC with a backup first, the upgrade wiped my email settings and the new email app won't allow you to enter POP/SMTP settings by hand. It tries to be clever and do it automatically from your email address. Trouble is, Nokia's servers don't know that xxx@email.com is owned by mail.com and operated on their behalf by aol.com (with AOL's particular settings). I don't mind programs trying to being clever when they get it right or give you a way to set things manually if they don't. But how, Nokia, do you persuade this new program to let you do that? It's the first email program that I have seen that appears to dumb things down so much that it won't do its job for some.

I am having repeated and seemingly inconsistent (though currently consistently) problems with gmail saying my password is incorrect. It's not. I tried this with push, and then resorted back to imap (with gpush app) and it now won't accept my password with imap at all. Gmail is not working with my iphone at all! What is the problem here? in the past two months gmail and my iphone don't play together well at all anymore!

I have four email accounts on my Lumia 900. Two of them, which are Yahoo! accounts, are acting up. All of a sudden, periodically, the email client will ask for the passwords for both accounts (whereas the other two accounts-a work email account and a gmail account) are auto-retrieving emails just fine. What could have made my Yahoo! accounts act this way where it is asking for my password? The passwords are saved in the settings. Could it be my smpt and pop setting address?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to update the IMAP password on a 9700 Bold, a process I've done numerous times in the recent past. However, on this particular device, I cannot even get to the menu for email accounts. Every attempt results in the following ianane OS message; "Your device had a problem connecting to the server." I'm then required to either try again (a never ending loop) or cancel.
I suspect this has something to do with my provider (AT&T) because I had similar symptoms on another device (same model, w/o enterprise security policies). I was able to fix it on the other device by deleting the IMAP Service Books and then doing a hard reset. It doesn't work for the problem BB.
I bought a Nokia Lumia 610 second hand today and saw it working etc. However when I got it home and turned it on it wouldn't let me operate the phone properly. I scrolled up to find it asking for a password. Now the problem is, the person I bought the phone from is not answering his texts, calls or emails and it looks like he has sold me the phone and blocked it. Is there a way around this at all as I really like the phone and want to use it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I bought myself a 950 last Thursday and from the beginning I've noticed some problems with the WiFi connectivity. Turning it off and leaving it on 4G would cure all the problems described below.
At first I thought it may have been due to the vast amount of updating apps but after all of that was done (struggled with various errors there too, though).
Now here is what's been happening ever since. When I pick up the phone to do some browsing, it's usually fine at first, but a minute later it would seem that the phone loses the WiFi connection. Edge would say this: [URL] ....
Windows Central app says this every time I open it (even though the newest articles are loaded): [URL] ....
The Store is the worst. It says it's "Acquiring License" for a minute and only then it starts downloading the app which stops usually right away or half way through. Only on rare occasions does it fully download the app. [URL] ....
By the way, I am on Build 10586.29 (not part of the Insider program).
