I've confirmed all the setting for my email account with my IS provider. I can receive email on my iPhone 3GS no problem, but it won't connect to the server to send anything...

Our email account was hijacked a week or so ago and a load of duff emails sent out. Eventually issue resolved with yahoo after multiple password changes. However, since then we have had problems with emails on iphone and ipad. Sending seems the most problematic. We are using the new passwords but keep receiving error message saying that the username and password are incorrect-they aren't. We can access yahoo via PC and the account is fine-sends and receives as normal. Just makes me realise how much I use the mobile devices?

I'm not having any problems with the Yahoo email account. I've removed the email and readded it on the phone as well as on the Blackberry Internet Server website.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running IOS 4.0.1 on an iPhone 4 and have only noticed today that EVERY time I wake the phone, I have to enter my passcode.I have the AutoLock setting set to 5 minutes and previously I thought that if for example I use the sleep button on the top of my phone, but then immediately wake the phone and 'slide to unlock' - if that 5 minute window hasn't passed, I don't have to put the passcode back in, and it goes straight to the springboard. However, now it seems regardless of the AutoLock 'x minutes' duration, whether it goes to sleep by itself or if I manually sleep the phone then wake it straight away, I always have to enter the code.
I do have it connected to an Exchange 2007 account (of which I'm admin of so if it's something to do with the settings in there then that's something I could change). It's weird though as my girlfriend has an identical phone/os etc, and is also connected to our exchange server but she doesnt have this passcode issue. If she unlocks her phone, then sleeps it and immediately wakes it, when she uses the slider on the lock screen she isn't prompted for the passcode.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy daughter has bought today a new Torch 9810. She has entered a new device password. After a few hours she tried to enter her password, but she forgot her password.
After a read of some internet groups, the solution is simple, just type 10 times your password and the BB will restart. I know that all data will be removed, but that is no issue.
Unfortunately the BB will not restart after I retype for then times the wrong password After the reset it starting with a White screen, with a sort of document icon. Within this document icon, appear a lock and cross sign, beneath this icon there is a counter with is repeatedly showing from 0 till 100% and then start over again.
I've tried to disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute, Put in a different sim card, let it run for almost one hour, but nothing seems to work.
The phone charges, boots up, Pin is recognized by DM.However, when i turn the phone on, the screen lights up and it prompts me to enter the device password. I am able to scroll up and down through the three options (Unlock, Emergency, Cancel) but i am unable to click down on any of them. Once the screen dies down back to sleep mode it doesn't light up anymore no matter what i press.I've reinstalled the default software 4.6 but that didn't help.
What's wrong and how can i solve it?

The device is silent for all email except when email arrives from a specific address (for on-call support purposes) .The alerts are actually working for as long as device is not password locked. As soon as I lock the device, whenever the email arrives it remains silent. If I simply unlock the device the device will respond as expected. just got my 9700 today. With my old 9000 I was able to make a password, lock my phone, and then upon unlocking it it would ask for my password.With my new one I just need to press the unlock button... what's the point of the password then? Can I make it ask for my password when I unlock it?? And how?

I have tried by logging into her BIS accout, and the Vodacom support centres have tried the same. It always returns saying "Contact your system administrator, incorrect username or password.Despite this the username and pwd IS correct, as she can access her mail from OUTLOOK, or Outlook Express, or via webmail, also if i add her details on my HTC Snap I can login and retrieve her mobile mail with no problem,
On her previous handset with the company, a Nokia, she also has no problem accessing mail, so it is confined to the BlackBerry RIM service.i have a suspicipon that her domain name cgm.co.za is "blacklisted" on the RIM service... but offcourse Vodacom keeps pointing the finger and saying that the hosting company (hostica.com) is not working... if none of the settings worked on ANY other email device or phone i would agree with them, but this is a Blackberry ONLY problem

I can cancel the prompt and the phone will work fine, but it continues to happen. I also upgraded my new iPad at the same time and it didn't happen on that device.
