Unable to define server settings when setting up IMAP or POP3 mailbox. Setup Wizard no longer gives these options when selecting OTHER as your email client type.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Nokia E72 for about 9 months now and no major issues. I have set up my official email using IMAP option and have been using it without any problem. Today when after sync of my mailbox , I was trying to read few emails. It was taking long time to open the email and later I it was hanging. I had to restart the phone and to my surprise the mailbox disappeared. I tried restarting the phone several times, but my mailbox is gone. I also moved all emails from my server INbox from my laptop email client to local folders. But still the mailbox on phone is not coming up.I do not want to do hard reset of the phone and I want to know if its okay to set up a new mailbox on the phone. WIll it cause any issues ?
View 4 Replies View Relatedfor the last 2-3 days my E55 has been unable to retrieve messages in HTML and attachments will not download.When I request for retrieval, the retrieval task bar appears then the message completey disappears from the mailbox. It does not go to deleted items it simply disappears from the phone. Agonisingly and infuriating to say the least! I have twice called Nokia support who have now escalated the issue. They have reset the phone to factory settings and all software is as updated as can be. I have been all over the menu and e mail settings, both global and mailbox, and cannot see what could be causing the issue.My mail is POP3 with Blueyonder and is ok on my PC with XP Pro SP2 and also on my Notebook with Win 7 Ultimate. Both of these are configured to save copies on the server, however if the message is read first on the phone neither the PC nor Notebook can receive the message as Nokia only supports pull from the server.Why is this suddenly happening? I have had this phone for approximately 5 months now and it has never occured before this last week. Do you have any resolutions?

I'm trying to set up a POP3 email account on BIS but it always defaults to IMAP. I've tried solutions such as leaving the password blank so that I can manually enter the settings, but it still defaults to IMAP. The POP3 settings are correct, and I've used them for Outlook, etc.

My school uses the GMAIL platform, and I have all of the information that would be required, but I have absolutely no idea how to configure it to work on my phone. I've tried logging in via the computer (which gives me a prompt saying I need to use my phone), and I've tried logging in through the phone but I never get enough options to edit the ports and SMTP/mail addresses.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Nokia N97 with the v21 firmware. I am connecting to a mail server via IMAP, using the phone's mail client (not mail for exchange). This has previously worked perfectly, however now I cannot update my inbox and view the emails. When I try to update the inbox, I get a dialogue box that says "Website has sent an untrusted certificate". After choosing "allow permanently", the inbox does not update. The message comes up every time I try to update (even when I've previously chosen "allow permanently".
I can however successfully send emails via the SMTP server using the phone (IMAP for sending is restricted, so have to use SMTP). Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening, and how I can solve it? I've also contacted the IT guys for the mail server, as I'm not sure whether the problem lies with the mail server or the phone, or both.
I recently hard resetted my phone, and b4 that, i made backup with pc suite via content copier. Everything got restored, but when i restored settings(via content copier), the phone just hung and didnt start after that.. I had to format my phone (Green+red+camera key), now fine, but how do i restore settings to my phone?

Connected where and how the mailbox can be deleted? There are lots of discussion of same problem but no solution (=factory reset is not solution).
I just set up Exchange 2010 and it runs greats supports SSL for IMAP POP and Activesync. IMAP is great because you have access to all your Inbox folders (with Active Sync / Exchange you can only have 1 such mailbox - blows). I've set up IMAP to my server on Android and BBs for my company clients - works great. I use IMAP at home with Outlook - great! I set up my Nokia Belle C7 and it pulls 20 random old messages off the server. I cannot figure out why it refuses to update the inbox contents.
I set to subscribe to all my other IMAP inbox folders no prob, it sees them. It outright refuses to see anything but the random old messages in my inbox? Whats going on? My phone is C7 Belle updated completely. I set up the account again as a "Hotmail" account and specified the exchange server - works very well and syncs well. Here you don't have access to any Inbox folders. Is this a bug with Nokia IMAP and exchange? I have another IMAP account which does work with Nokia.
Sent folder isn't synced with the mail server in imap, it's an old problem i have with my n8, that i had with my 5800 years ago, and that i had with my first mailsupporting nokia smartphone, is there a solution ? Even the ovi mailbox doesn't sync sent mail to the server.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI created a POP3 account using the "Accounts" app. All is good, it can send & receive emails & they appear in the Blur messaging widgets, which I like.My problem is that I do not want the phone to delete the emails from the server as I get my main PC's Outlook to download & store all the emails when it is switched on.Can it be done? It would be a nice new feature to add if it isn't already in.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just changed from a BlackBerry to the htc Desire S & am having all sorts of problems trying to persuade it to deal with my pop3 emails. I've religiously followed the instructions & the Incoming settings are accepted but when I put in the Outgoing details it always comes up with "Your outgoing server does not support authentication. Please verify your outgoing server settings". I am not a computer/phone expert but managed to set up my BlackBerry without any problem. In this case, after several failures I copied the settings as in my Outlook Internet email settings. No luck.I contacted the technical dept of Zen (the ISP) they were very knowledgeable & helpful but, after 90 minutes effort finally gave up.
All instructions on the htc site just repeat the user manual instructions which, in this case, does not work. I've emailed htc but have received no reply. I contacted the service provider - Vodafone. They advised that it is difficult to operate pop3 emails with the standard mobile phone Server port at 25 & suggested that I if I wish to use my business email address (rather that getting a new gmail one) then I would be best advised to return the phone & get a new BlackBerry. I find it hard to believe that it is not possible to receive & send normal emails on a modern smartphone & am hoping that someone may be able to guide my through an installation/troubleshooting process that will work.
I Have an E72 RM-529 . Sof. Version: 022.007.244.02 After in run the mentioned update, i am unable to send emails from my mobile. All of them keep in Outgoing Tray, never leave the mobile. I made no changes to its setup and it wasd working fine with previous version 021.xxxxxx.

The settings I'm using are :
Incoming server : pop3.live.com
Outgoing server : smtp.live.com
But when it's all setup, I get the message :"Unable to connect to pop3.live.com. Server name or port number may be incorrect" Can someone tell me the correct settings please?
How do I add my mailbox to the Blackberry Enterprise Server?
I am trying to get my Outlook email on my phone, and when I go to Device Options, under Enterprise Email, it says that Enterprise email services are currently unavailable because my administrator has not added my mailbox to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
According to my IT guy I need to get my phone to pull emails out either on port 995 for SSL POP3 or on port 993 for SSL IMAP. My phone errors out when I setup the account through the phone. Koodo does not allow setting it up through a browser. They say the server I have used my 8830 on for years is not compatible with my new 9360 and that it is a Blackberry problem!
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe email client on my N8 with Belle suddenly stopped working. I have configured my email with IMAP (Standard not OVI!) and it was working OK until a couple of days ago. Now I can not retrieve/send any email - I always get the message: "Unable to sign in. Try again.". I also tried and removed this particular account and added it once again (as a matter of fact I did this about 10 times!!!) but still no emails are shown. Of course this same mail is working perfectly on all of my PCs and notebooks.
