I have an imap email, I use it with outlook. I have configured my email acount in my bb 9700 and I find that my device doesn´t sync previous mails (from before the date I configured the account on the device)what can I do?

BB Bold :: 9700 - IMAP / Sync Suddenly Stopped Working?

I'm using a TMobile Blackberry 9700 (OS 5.0.0.714) and have 6 email accounts attached, including 4 gmail accounts, one Yahoo! account, and another IMAP account through a private host. I use Apple's standard mail app (v4.5) in Leopard (OSX 10.6.8). A few months ago I finally figured out all of the IMAP tweaks between my private host and the gmail settings to get sync working correctly (finally!). In other words, if I delete a message on my phone, it's deleted from my laptop as well, and if I read a message on my laptop, it shows up as read on my phone. etc.

A few weeks ago, without making ANY changes to settings on my phone, computer, or mail accounts, all of these features stopped working. So a message deleted on my phone still shows up as a "new" message on my computer. Messages read or deleted on my laptop still show up as new/unread on my phone. I resent the service book. Even deleted the accounts from the phone and set them up again from scratch... same problem. I know that IMAP is still working correctly at the server level because if I delete a message on my iPad it is automatically deleted from the laptop and vice versa.

Messages deleted from the gmail website are automatically removed from my laptop. The problem only occurs with the Blackberry. The only reason I have stuck with Blackberry (instead of jumping to iPhone) is because of the superior messaging on Blackberry...and I do a ton of messaging. I am at a complete loss as to why the IMAP sync would just stop working without making any changes to my settings or device configuration. The sync also stopped working on my Yahoo! account and on my private ISP's email account.

I've been using Nokia E72 for about 9 months now and no major issues. I have set up my official email using IMAP option and have been using it without any problem. Today when after sync of my mailbox , I was trying to read few emails. It was taking long time to open the email and later I it was hanging. I had to restart the phone and to my surprise the mailbox disappeared. I tried restarting the phone several times, but my mailbox is gone. I also moved all emails from my server INbox from my laptop email client to local folders. But still the mailbox on phone is not coming up.I do not want to do hard reset of the phone and I want to know if its okay to set up a new mailbox on the phone. WIll it cause any issues ?

I access my corporate mail box thru my BB as well as a PC. Now when I delete mails from my mail box from the PC, these mails should also, simultaneously, get deleted from the BB--- correct? This is not happening(was happening on my last BB). The BB keeps accumulating the mail and I have to delete them using the BB delete option. I have gone to EDIT option on my set up email setting and in the Sync options have ticked the DELETE option---- no success. As a result BB gets flooded with 100s of mail. What do I need to do to have the BB mails deleting simultaneously when they are deleted from the same mail box, from my PC....

First week vibration. OK, I'll survive. Hope they will fix that. But I have major problem with mail setup. I tried with push mail (accepting TOS from nokia) and pull (declining TOS from nokia), but created mailboxes never sync properly. There is no automatic sync. Tried with hard restart and reinstalling the software, but nothing, it wont auto sync mailboxes. I have to check mail manually. And today Nokia e6 don't accept lock code which is accurate and worked fine for 1 month since I change it. It just refuse to accept and restart when I put lock code.

BB Bold 9700 :: BIS POP3 Set Up Always Defaults To IMAP

I've searched and searched for the answer to this and can't find a satisfactory answer, so here goes. I'm trying to set up a POP3 email account on BIS but it always defaults to IMAP. I've tried solutions such as leaving the password blank so that I can manually enter the settings, but it still defaults to IMAP. The POP3 settings are correct, and I've used them for Outlook, etc.

I have just purchased my Bold 9700 and as a single user am running on BIS. My purchase was based on the formidable reputation of Blackberry for easy and efficient email handling and I fully expected it to out-perform anything on the market in this respect. On setting up my IMAP accounts I was therefore shocked and very disappointed to find that sent item and read/unread email reconciliation is one-way only ie. from handset to mailbox.

On reading Blackberry support information and numerous Blackberry user forums I find that there is a substantial user base who share my feelings regarding this glaring and annoying omission of full two-way IMAP email reconciliation which is the norm on other smartphones including the iphone - presumably Blackberry's main competitor. As it is my 13 year-old son who uses an iphone is now laughing at the inability of my new Blackberry to perform simple email tasks!

Without having to get admin/IT assistance, is there a way to get back a separate mailbox/icon/folder for the e-mail address managed by BES? When on BIS, I had a work e-mail folder/icon, a yahoo folder/icon, etc. Now, the work e-mail folder/icon (which is BES managed) is gone and that e-mail comes in under the general Messages folder/icon. Any easy fix?

I bought an E7 two weeks ago and use the embedded mail programme with:

- Mail for Exchange Client (Job account)
- IMAP G-Mail (Personal account)
- IMAP GMX.net (Personal account)

Everything worked fine for one week, then my second IMAP-account (GMX) stopped syncing. In my browser I can see that there are unread messages in the account but the E7 does not download them.

I currently have a Droid Pro, wanted to set up Hotmail as IMAP or Active Sync. Currently have it set up as POP3, but wanted the full capabilities from the phone. (Yes, I know, the simple answer is to switch to gmail, but I have had this hotmail account for many years). I have tried the steps listed here: [URL]

Added a Corporate Sync account. Entered these parameters:
Email Address: <my email>
Password: <my password>
Domain: Blank
Username: <my email>
Server: m.hotmail.com
Use secure connection: Checked

When I enter these details, it adds the account to the phone. However, when I go into that account, after a few minutes I get an error: "Unable to connect to Hotmail1." The strange thing is, I am able to see my subfolder set up after it timed out while trying to connect. How to get Hotmail working on a Droid Pro...other than POP3?

My Bold 9700 will not give me the option to delete facebook notifications and other mail messages from facebook from my mailbox(Hotmail) and my Bold 9700. since Friday28th of October, in the morning I am experiencing a rather unpleasant issue: my Nokia E6 dos not connect to my company's email IMAP email accounts. I take the opportunity to report other 3 issuesI have 2 emails accounts @mycompany.com that were regularly being used. I did not update the firmware nor performed any changes on the phone, all of a sudden the E6 does not connect with the email accounts, there is no error message.I tried the following:1) Re-entered the password of the email account, I confirm this is right2) Created one of the email accounts that were on the E6 on 2 other devices (Ipad and Palm Pre), they work perfect, both on Wifi, on my operator,(Orange) and on an other phone operator (Swisscom)3) deleted one email account, from the E6. I restarted the phone (by holding the button 8 seconds) and recreated the email account, this is not possible, I get the following error message:" service temporarily unavailable. Try again later. "4) I repeated the test (point3) both on WiFi and using the 3G operator. I got the same errorOn the E6 there is also a Gmail account, which works flawlessly.Using the email is not an option for my business, so I wish that THIS TIME I will get an effective reply from NOKIA. ( NOKIA don't tell me again that I have to use OVI account or my mailprovider does not work, because as explained I tested the settings on other devices.

I've just received my Vivaz Pro and I'm desperately trying to set up a mailbox to sync email from my company's MS Exchange server.
I'm trying Settings->Application->Messaging->SyncEmail but after completing all the steps nothing happens. I've read about RoadSync but I don't have it on my phone (got it from Vodafone Italy), and it doesn't seem fair to have to pay for something I definitely expect a smartphone to be able to do for free. I'm using the email app for my work email. It's using the IMAP protocol. I'm not using the corporate sync functionality. After doing a manual sync by pressing the refresh icon, I would get emails pushed to my phone fine. However, after some time emails stop getting pushed to my phone. The period of time when push seems to be working varies around a few hours. When it stops working I have to do a manual sync again in order to get push to work for another few hours.

I'm trying to update the IMAP password on a 9700 Bold, a process I've done numerous times in the recent past. However, on this particular device, I cannot even get to the menu for email accounts. Every attempt results in the following ianane OS message; "Your device had a problem connecting to the server." I'm then required to either try again (a never ending loop) or cancel.

I suspect this has something to do with my provider (AT&T) because I had similar symptoms on another device (same model, w/o enterprise security policies). I was able to fix it on the other device by deleting the IMAP Service Books and then doing a hard reset. It doesn't work for the problem BB.

I have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.

BB Bold 9700 :: New - Desktop Mgr 5.0 - No Sync

So, I just upgraded to a new Bold 9700 w/ Desktop Mgr 5.0.1.

I understand the complications some experience with this, and have diagnosed nearly everything (firewalls, virus protection, USB connection works, full/clean uninstall of old DTM, etc, etc.).

The unit is recognized by my PC and DTM. I can successfully search and download software updates, but I continue to get this error about "Your computer must be connected to the internet to perform this operation." It's maddening!

I use a stand alone PC running XP and using Outlook 2003. I'm not on any network. Don't use BES. I transferred all data from an old 8130 to this with no problem, I just can't get the initial sync to happen.

The only remaining solutions I've read about (although don't really understand) are:

1. ensuring COMM ports 80 and/or 443 are open to the device. How exactly do I do this? Really, I have no clue what that means.

2. Finding an old version of Destop Manager (4.2 and earlier). Got a URL handy?

3. changing my bberry router configuration. This sounds drastic, but at least it's a workaround.

I have my gmail account set up ages ago and was able to delete an email and it would ask me whether I wanted to delete it from the mailbox and handheld or handheld only etc .Recently , that option disappeared , the only option would be "delete" and "cancel" . My other email account is still running fine . I tried deleting and adding the email account again , sent service books , battery pulls , nothing is working . I made sure that the circle is shaded in when it says "sync deleted items."
