Without having to get admin/IT assistance, is there a way to get back a separate mailbox/icon/folder for the e-mail address managed by BES? When on BIS, I had a work e-mail folder/icon, a yahoo folder/icon, etc. Now, the work e-mail folder/icon (which is BES managed) is gone and that e-mail comes in under the general Messages folder/icon. Any easy fix?

Add to my Nokia Messaging account
Create a separate mailbox that uses manual delivery
This is an UI improvement: There is no contextual help or information regarding both options
How do I program one icon for email and one for text messages? Right now I get everything on both icons.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had my 9700. I just noticed today that the sliver pieces that separate each row of keys are fragile. I have one piece that is totally broken on both sides under the Talk and End button, another broken one under the Q and the lower left one below the Z key. On all of them but bottom one, they were originally hard to see. Not sure how I found them but upon closer inspection, more and more were broken. The bottom one actually sticks up some.
My only concern is that they are going to get worse and totally break off and then free for all on dust and dirt in actual keyboard. These silver strips look real cheap. Anyone else have broken ones in their keyboard? How have you solved the issue? Can they easliy replace just the keyboard at the tech center? I have seen OEM keyboards for sale too but not sure I want to try that myself. I am going to call At&t but not sure if they will do a warranty swap for this. My wife has the same phone and hers are all fine and intact. I think parts of this phone were made on a budget. Bad design with the keyboard.
I had a Pearl 8120 before, and it had the ability to store different volume levels for handset, speakerphone and headset.The 9700 seems to have just one setting for all.If you change the volume on the speaker, the volume will also be changed for the headset.I find this rather annoying. Or did I overlook a setting somewhere to make it work?

I can only delete facebook messages on my device and then I have to go onto my Hotmail separately to delete emails.All other emails delete on both Hotmail and Bold 9700.Anyone who can tell me a way to delete facebook emails and notifications on my bold and hotmail at the same time will be a great help?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just recently switched from a Bold 9000 (ATT, OS 5) to a Bold 9700 (ATT OS 5).On the Bold 9000, I had 2 separate icons for my email. One was "Desktop" (the email from the BES) and one was "Personal" (my gmail account). There was also an option in the email settings to determine which emails showed up in the "Messages" view as well and you could have personal, work or both show up there.Now I can't seem to find this option in the 9700.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI want to buy the 9700 on t-mobile (UK), but they tell me I MUST have the blackberry service (which is an added 5 GBP/month), and if I want to use the internet then I must ALSO get the (unlimited) internet option too. They tell me, I cannot have the unlimited internet package alone, as the phone will not work properly - basic functions like phone calls and SMS messages will work, but I will not be able to use the internet without the blackberry service.They say, in order to use the internet, I need the internet bundle PLUS the blackberry service.I only need internet package as I can log onto gmail/hotmail via the web and check my emails. I don't need the push email service. Other carriers dont seem to require two separate bundles - it all seems like the same thing, but it is not very clear.
So does the info t-mobile have given me sound correct? It seems like they just want to get an extra five quid out of me each month..??!! The blackberry service is AUTOMATICALLY added when you select the phone online, but they tell me I can cancel it whenever I want, although that will mean I can't use the internet, even if I have an extra internet bundle.
I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I woke this morning to see my Yahoo email icon back on my home screen. Has anyone else gotten it back? And lastly, how do I change it back to a stock BB icon?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

I never had this problem with my old curve 8320. I've also had this icon issue since I got my phone several months ago. The icons remain the same no matter which OS version I use. I am on T-mobile.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have just updated the o/s on my blackberry curve today (v5.0.0.681).i have a work exchange email, and i have also added my personal mail account via Setup / Email Settings - the new additional mail address is visible, and i have received an email from the Activation Server confirming, i am also receiving mails from both email addresses.the issue is that the icon for the extra mailbox is not appearing on the home screen, or in any of the folders (up until the o/s upgrade i had no issues and it was always visible) I have taken the battery in and out - any other suggestions?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9700, AT&T, v5.0.0.602 (Platform 5.1.0.112)I will look on my phone and there will be the envelope icon telling me I have 3 messages (as an example). The message folder concurs, it tells me that I have 3 messages. Yet when I open the Messages folder there are NO MESSAGES. I check my 3 email folders and NO MESSAGES. These envelopes won't go away. I took the phone to the nearby store where I purchased it. The kind gentleman took out the battery and replaced it. That took care of the problem for one day, then the icon reappeared. I took it back and the lady told me it was a "phone issue" and that under warranty I should get a new phone. So I did. A day and a half later, more envelope icons. I'm not taking it back again.

In message-box, I couldn't see any sms here,but only emails and mms. It will show a list about short messages when i press(alt+s), but any message can't be open, just a list. I have tried v6.0.0.593/680/743, but it doesn't be fixed. I can only wipe the phone , but several days later,It will repeat. no BIS/BES with my phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9700 with the red x through battery problem. It's not the battery I've tired 3 different batteries, all which were original. It always comes up with the same problem. The LED will turn red when I charge it, then the empty battery with an X through it will be displayed.
I've tried connecting it to Desktop Manager, and it gets recognized just fine, just won't charge at all.
my BBM icon is missing i cannot find it any where, when i go to options and applications it shows me that it is installed.i tried uninstalling it and installing it back did not work, rebooting by taking the battery out did not work.
uninstalling then reboot by taking battery out then installing it back again did not work.i am currently running OS 5.0.0.169.
I've been wondering why my hotmail shortcut is just the usual envelope-with-small-globe one, because my friend's 9700 has the envelope-with-small-orange-envelope for her hotmail emails. Anyone know how to fix this? I'm running on 9700/5.0.0.862.
