I had a Pearl 8120 before, and it had the ability to store different volume levels for handset, speakerphone and headset.The 9700 seems to have just one setting for all.If you change the volume on the speaker, the volume will also be changed for the headset.I find this rather annoying. Or did I overlook a setting somewhere to make it work?
View 5 RepliesI have a Droid Turbo, and on both KitKat and Lollipop you have to change volume settings separately. I'm always turning down my volume, just to get a full blast text alert that startles me right out of my seat. On previous phones (including other Motorola droids) all notification volume settings were linked and changed as one. Why is that not a thing anymore? How does that not just make the most sense? I know there are apps out there that could do this, but I don't want to have to download another app to simplify something that should be simple in the first place.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had my 9700. I just noticed today that the sliver pieces that separate each row of keys are fragile. I have one piece that is totally broken on both sides under the Talk and End button, another broken one under the Q and the lower left one below the Z key. On all of them but bottom one, they were originally hard to see. Not sure how I found them but upon closer inspection, more and more were broken. The bottom one actually sticks up some.
My only concern is that they are going to get worse and totally break off and then free for all on dust and dirt in actual keyboard. These silver strips look real cheap. Anyone else have broken ones in their keyboard? How have you solved the issue? Can they easliy replace just the keyboard at the tech center? I have seen OEM keyboards for sale too but not sure I want to try that myself. I am going to call At&t but not sure if they will do a warranty swap for this. My wife has the same phone and hers are all fine and intact. I think parts of this phone were made on a budget. Bad design with the keyboard.
I'd like notification for emails, messaging, WhatsApp to be silent while phone calls set to mid volume. Is there any app or method that allows this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just recently switched from a Bold 9000 (ATT, OS 5) to a Bold 9700 (ATT OS 5).On the Bold 9000, I had 2 separate icons for my email. One was "Desktop" (the email from the BES) and one was "Personal" (my gmail account). There was also an option in the email settings to determine which emails showed up in the "Messages" view as well and you could have personal, work or both show up there.Now I can't seem to find this option in the 9700.

When on BIS, I had a work e-mail folder/icon, a yahoo folder/icon, etc. Now, the work e-mail folder/icon (which is BES managed) is gone and that e-mail comes in under the general Messages folder/icon. Any easy fix?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI want to buy the 9700 on t-mobile (UK), but they tell me I MUST have the blackberry service (which is an added 5 GBP/month), and if I want to use the internet then I must ALSO get the (unlimited) internet option too. They tell me, I cannot have the unlimited internet package alone, as the phone will not work properly - basic functions like phone calls and SMS messages will work, but I will not be able to use the internet without the blackberry service.They say, in order to use the internet, I need the internet bundle PLUS the blackberry service.I only need internet package as I can log onto gmail/hotmail via the web and check my emails. I don't need the push email service. Other carriers dont seem to require two separate bundles - it all seems like the same thing, but it is not very clear.
So does the info t-mobile have given me sound correct? It seems like they just want to get an extra five quid out of me each month..??!! The blackberry service is AUTOMATICALLY added when you select the phone online, but they tell me I can cancel it whenever I want, although that will mean I can't use the internet, even if I have an extra internet bundle.
I hate being blasted with notifications when I'm jamming out lol. Will this ever be a feature for windows phone? Its damn annoying to have the music blasting and get a notification that will blow out ur eardrums -_-

The most recent update mentions that you've "Added Support to control Notification Volume along with Ringer Volume". I had assumed that this had fixed my problem that I had with this application, but was greatly confused when it didn't.I want an action to adjust my Ringer Volume and an action to adjust my Notification Volume. I want them to be separate settings, not combined. I have read multiple threads posted previously in this forum from people complaining that they need to have the volume of their notifications all the way up, or their ringer volume up while they are sleeping for work.As a Systems Administrator I want to be able to sleep at night. I don't want to hear pinging from people emailing me at 4 AM. I work for a company that has associates all over the world, so this happens regularly. I do however NEED to have my ringer volume up in case our equipment has issues at our DC.
I understand that you want to keep the application streamlined and as simple as possible, but it really will not cause confusion to have the same volume sliders that Android has within settings. It does not seem like it would be that difficult to add the 4 volume sliders for Media, Ringtone, Notifications, and Alarms. It would actually make MUCH more sense to users than it does now. (Especially considering I spent an hour and a half on the phone with support over a poorly worded update description)
I feel like this was a pretty popular request, and when we all saw the separate volume buttons, many said the same thing.finally we can hold the phone like a normal camera and not have to fiddle with touching the screen.Evidently not, seeing as nothing was mentioned of it in iOS4 or iPhone 4 keynotes, nor is it mentioned in feature overviews. Certainly not a deal breaker, just more of an annoyance. It's odd that Apple hasn't given us this feature without having to jailbreak, as I'd think the coding for it is very minimal.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I open up visual voicemail to listen to a message, when it starts to play it at the lowest volume setting, I have to keep clicking the volume button up while the message is playing to get it back up. Very annoying. Also, I have a Jawbone Prime and whenever I connect it to the phone and make a phone call, it always defaults to the lowest volume and I have to do the same thing. Is this some type of bug? I can't figure out how to change the default volume for those, I have volume settings for the phone set to remember the last setting, but it always defaults to the lowest volume when I first connect it.. Then remembers that setting until I disconnect it and reconnect it again. Very weird. Can anybody tell me what's going on?

The one near the bottom is for the camera, and there are a couple above that that the user guide says are the volume buttons. When I press the them to increase or drecrease the volume, nothing happens.

This is actually my 2nd one because the first one I got was defective (the 3/R button didn't work)..so I got a new Bold 9700 via DOA. Two days ago, I noticed that my phone would restart when i press the two volume buttons at the same time. If I press one of them, it still works perfectly. However, I use a case so sometimes I accidentally hit the two volume buttons together and my phone reboots.I'm not too sure if this problem just started to occur like recently because I never noticed if I ever hit the volume keys together at the same times before. I don't think it's a software problem but I'm running on the original Rogers OS 5.0.0.351. I never bothered to upgrade because .351 seems to work pretty well already.

I have removed the battery and done the suggested soft resets but when it startsup the progress bar freezes in the same place.I have now tried the factory reset in the BBDesktopapplication. I get a message saying it is initializing and a small progress wheel is spinning. It has been like this for 6 hours and there has been absolutely no movement on the progress bar.

So, I went to "Manage Email Settings" and tried to connect, but got "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue." Update - I just checked my device manager and it says I'm disconnected. It says "COM3/Disconnected" to be exact.
