Where can I find the settings for standy mode? my phone does not go into standby mode anymore when i pout it into the holster, i know there was a setting but i cant find it anymore.

My BB has started giving issues since a few days. Whenever the phone is in standy, the battery is completely drained off. There are no additional apps running. I don't overcharge the battery either. There has been no change since it was working perfectly well. I also bought a new battery but the same issue.

I had a Pearl 8120 before, and it had the ability to store different volume levels for handset, speakerphone and headset.The 9700 seems to have just one setting for all.If you change the volume on the speaker, the volume will also be changed for the headset.I find this rather annoying. Or did I overlook a setting somewhere to make it work?

I have removed the battery and done the suggested soft resets but when it startsup the progress bar freezes in the same place.I have now tried the factory reset in the BBDesktopapplication. I get a message saying it is initializing and a small progress wheel is spinning. It has been like this for 6 hours and there has been absolutely no movement on the progress bar.

Also, it seems like only sometimes does my email icon on my phone get the little read dot that indicates a new email. Some times it does, some times it doesn't. Also, my fiance has a bold as well, and I tried to text her this morning. I went to compose SMS, but it going out as a BB messenger conversation instead.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have bold 9700 running os6 but I want to get back my 2g only option in mobile network options. I use BB 9700 of H3G UK. In OS5, it has 2g mode, 3g mode and 2g&3g mode but there is no 2g mode in Mobile network option in OS6. I have tried to reinstall OS6 and nothing change.
Is there a better way to do get the 2g only option back?? Don't tell me that I have to downgrade to OS5
I noticed today when I got home that none of my email had come through on my BB. I did a battery pull. So, I went to "Manage Email Settings" and tried to connect, but got "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue." Update - I just checked my device manager and it says I'm disconnected. It says "COM3/Disconnected" to be exact.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have read about 30 posts on this subject and no one seems to be answering this question about the recently revised change of the "standby button/mute key" change. I do not holster my 9700, so a TRUE standby button is very helpful. A few posts indicate that the key lock button (left button of top of unit) is the same thing as Standby mode. IT IS NOT THE SAME THING! Keyboard lock has nothing to do with putting the phone into a lower power state. With that, does anyone know if there a button or process to put the phone into true Standby mode (other than by holstering the phone)?
View 7 Replies View RelatedDespite putting the very latest firmware on my 9700, the email Settings Application ( in Setup Folder - Email settings) still takes me to a browser based setup on the BIS . my old 8900 and my work 9700 has an application type interface.. Why is this a problem ? Because it wont let me setup gmail Contact sync .. Keeps giving me a message "To start xxxxxxxx@gmail.com contacts synchronization with your BlackBerry® device, complete the security activation on your device:
1. In the Setup folder, log in to the Email Settings application.
2. After you log in, the security activation starts. When security activation is complete, wireless synchronization of your contacts with your device automatically begins."
This does not work and I'm guessing because i dont have the latest email settings on the device.. I have tried re-installing firmware , wipes etc..
I have the device set up for "Bedside Mode" when charging (sits in the OEM dock at night). I left the device "on" and placed in the dock. The keyboard light, screen all dim as they should and the "clock" displays on screen as well. Then after about 20 sec the keyboard buttons all turn on and the screen brightens up. A couple of sec's later they all dim back down. This process repeats itself over and over like the damn thing has a heartbeat or something! I don't recall this doing this the first two nights that I used the new dock/bedside mode.

(.....makes for some challenging fumbling in the morning, which has yet to land my bb in my נעגל וואסער) Previously touching any key triggered snooze Escalating mode doesn't seem to escalate! That was a good feature. Has anyone else noticed this? Are they bugs or am I missing something. Or perhaps something became corrupted when I transferred settings from my 9000.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI put the phone in bedside mode then drop it in the cradle and when I wake up the clock is gone and the phone is frozen. It won't let you do anything not even shut it off, I have to do a battery pull.
