I just updated the latest software to my bb 9700, upon undating i notice that the "key lock" key and the "standy key" located on top of the phone is not functioning anymore. is that any ways that I can i activate back both the keys? or how do i lock my phone with your latest software.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have read about 30 posts on this subject and no one seems to be answering this question about the recently revised change of the "standby button/mute key" change. I do not holster my 9700, so a TRUE standby button is very helpful. A few posts indicate that the key lock button (left button of top of unit) is the same thing as Standby mode. IT IS NOT THE SAME THING! Keyboard lock has nothing to do with putting the phone into a lower power state. With that, does anyone know if there a button or process to put the phone into true Standby mode (other than by holstering the phone)?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm a dedicated BB users and have been using many models over the years, but this is the first annoying problem i encounters with the 9700.i bought 2 tMo 9700 last week for me and my wife. when i got home, i updated the os of my 9700 to .586
the problem started when the battery level reach 40%. whenever i'm in a call or the bb in keypad lock mode, it suddenly shut off itself. and then i can't turned it on unless i plugged in the charger. but after it turned on, i can unplugged the charger and the bb would be normal until the battery reach 0%.
i thought i was a battery problem with my 9700, so i tried using my wife battery, and it was still the same problem coming out. so then i thought it was an OS problem, so i upgrade it to .593, and it still gave me the same problem. then i tried downgrade it to .578, and it still the same.then my guess was it was a faulty 9700. but i tried the software upgrade to my wife's BB and then she had the same problem as i am.
what's wrong with our 9700's? can anyone help us? i have been looking all over the internet but found no solution.we have the same apps installed beside add ons: ubertwitter, opera mini, google sync, googlemaps,foyage, blackcorpo theme.
So earlier today before I went in to school I put my phone in bedside mode (so that the led would not blink (I use berrybuzz, which is very bright)) then locked the keyboard and put it in standby, for added security, before putting it in my book bag. After 2nd period I got my phone out and it was hot, as if it had been continuously downloading something or playing a video. The screen was dim but never turned off. The battery, which was at 100% only 1 or 2 hours earlier, was drained to 1 bar. I checked to see if any apps were running, with no luck, and then pulled the battery out and left it out until about an hour ago or so. The phone is fine now, but I don't know what happened.

But my guess is he hasn't given me new phone instead he gave me a phone which is already used.Any body has idea how to find if the phone is used before or brand new?

However recently my phone (a Bold 9700) has begun to experience some e-mail problems. I can receive emails just fine but I cannot for the life of me send an e-mail! I have deleted all my accounts and reentered all the info but I still cannot send any emails. I also can not set up a microsoft exchange account. It does not even give me the option. Please help! I need do be able to send emails for work purposes.
my BB9700 camera and video camera can't open lately, message error shown "could not start the camer. close other application and try opening the camera again" but i did not open any other application and i try to take out the battery and restart it but the problem still remain.

This has happened before but after charging my phone it started to work again. I have turned my phone on and off, tried charging it and the button still doesn't work. Although the keypad will lock when I put it into the leather case.Do you think it is a problem with my blackberry and I should return it? View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my HTC One M8 for about 3 months now. The lock screen has never worked, but it was never really a problem so I didn't bother with it. Recently I had a disaster where I pocket-sent out some pictures that didn't need to be shared, and now the lock screen would really come in handy lol.
I got to "Settings" - "Personalize" - "Lock Screen Wallpaper" - and I've tried both the "Home Screen Wallpaper" and "Use Custom Wallpaper". It acts as though it's accepted whichever option I choose, but it never actually shows up on the phone when I activate the screen.
Have had my S5 for 8mos, it's an unlocked Rogers phone on Bell network, working well. Recently bought new car, 2014 Civic EX, and trying to use "car mode."
When bluetooth not in use, it works great... voice command "Hi Galaxy" wakes it up, voice activated messages/calls sent/placed seamlessly. But, as soon as I connect to bluetooth device, it doesn't work! At first thought it was something to do with bluetooth system in my car, but connecting to my old blueant headset does same thing, as does connecting to my friend's car.
Saying Hi Galaxy will change the display to speak now with red mic symbol, but the audible beep that prompts you to say voice command is absent, and the phone doesn't recognize any voice commands at all. After ~ 4 seconds, the display reverts back to say "Hi Galaxy." I have looked through all settings I could think might have an impact on it's function, but can't get it to work.
I did an upgrade to v5.0.0.680 on my Blackberry 9700 and after that my Standby - Mute button not working also the Email Setup is missing an option to add a personal account it only giving me option to add "Blackberry Enterprise Server."
View 12 Replies View RelatedThe problem with my phone is that it was working last night and now it wont turn on ive tried everything i can think of holding the home and power button for 20 seconds did nothing charging it did nothing the only thing that my phone is able to do is go into DFU mode and then it will put me in recovery mode during recovery mode my phone wont do anything it will just remain a black screen finally while itunes says waiting for iphone during recovery a error will pop up it is called error 4005.

I just received my new windshield cradle that grips it from top and bottom, and the buttons are invariable pressed accidentally for a variety of reasons. Perhaps an application that can shut them off, or some type if setting?

Start camera up and it displays Camera in Standby Mode. There is a Continue option available however when selected the standby mode message reappears. I have also noticed that the Image Sequence setting is ON and Im unable to change this setting.Have tried hard reset and have upgraded to latest 10.5 software. Have also spoken to Nokia support with no luck.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone was working fine last night but this morning I am unable to shut it down. The only way to shut down the phone at the moment is to take the battery out. I can start up my phone by replacing the battery but when I try to unlock it it won't work.
At start up it verifies the software then gives me options to Unlock, Emergency, or Cancel but it i cannot select any of these and I cannot scroll through any of the options. The phone eventually goes into standby ( black screen ) which I am unable to get it out of.
I can hear my messages coming through and and the screen lights up when calls come through but I can't answer the call as the keyboard won't work. The green light also stays on despite the phone not being fully charged.
normally if my phone was om extended Standby Mode and I wasn't using my phone, I wouldn't receive notifications from F.e. Facebook, Whatsapp etc. I haven't selected apps that should be active in extended mode. And now all of a sudden I'm getting notifications in extended Standby Mode even when I'm not using the phone and no apps are allowed to be active.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy problem: My 8310 will not standby/lock when it is holstered. What I've tried: The obvious, Options > Security > General Settings > Lock Upon Holstering = Yes. I will put it in the holster wait a good 30 seconds - 1 minute, then push on the holster to hit a letter and see if the address book opens up and it does (from my understanding it shouldn't if locked) My guess is maybe I just have a junk holster (it is magnetic) or maybe something with the battery.I have searched and just couldn't find much, this forum is great and full of knowledge so figured i'd give it a shot.
