I hate being blasted with notifications when I'm jamming out lol. Will this ever be a feature for windows phone? Its damn annoying to have the music blasting and get a notification that will blow out ur eardrums -_-

The most recent update mentions that you've "Added Support to control Notification Volume along with Ringer Volume". I had assumed that this had fixed my problem that I had with this application, but was greatly confused when it didn't.I want an action to adjust my Ringer Volume and an action to adjust my Notification Volume. I want them to be separate settings, not combined. I have read multiple threads posted previously in this forum from people complaining that they need to have the volume of their notifications all the way up, or their ringer volume up while they are sleeping for work.As a Systems Administrator I want to be able to sleep at night. I don't want to hear pinging from people emailing me at 4 AM. I work for a company that has associates all over the world, so this happens regularly. I do however NEED to have my ringer volume up in case our equipment has issues at our DC.
I understand that you want to keep the application streamlined and as simple as possible, but it really will not cause confusion to have the same volume sliders that Android has within settings. It does not seem like it would be that difficult to add the 4 volume sliders for Media, Ringtone, Notifications, and Alarms. It would actually make MUCH more sense to users than it does now. (Especially considering I spent an hour and a half on the phone with support over a poorly worded update description)
Can I have separate, different ringtone for the two phones / sim cards?

View 2 Replies View RelatedBought my 950 from AT&T. I use Office 365 and Outlook SMS calendar notifications (via Exchange) which are sent via carrier email to text.
On my Icon w/ a Verizon account, each notification nested within a single contact or send SMS number (was always "6245"). However, with AT&T I am getting each notification from a distinct number, such as "1 (410) 100-030," "1 (410) 100-031," "1 (410) 100-032," etc., and as per the attached (these messages are from RedOxgyen Outlook SMS that works the same as calendar notifications). It renders the calendar and other Outlook SMS functions useless, as it overwhelms my SMS inbox.
Is it possible that on the next firmware update, the volume control for the music and ring/message tone is separated?
Like when you're listening to music, when you press the volume rocker, it will set the volume just for the music and not the current volume setting of the message/ring tone?

To clarify: My theme is cobalt and I have a handful of notifications that are still showing as cobalt, while the rest are white. I thought after you checked the notification, it turned white. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Can this be done? Getting fed up of getting a notification for whatsapp for example that sits over my browser search bar for too long, have to stop what I'm doing to open the app to clear the toast bar..

View 1 Replies View RelatedProbably 60% of the time when I hit the volume down button the option to change the Ringer/Notifications and the Media/Apps volume comes up. I can then, of course, mute the volume on each of those or obviously adjust the volume. However, the other 40% of the time, only the volume for Media/Apps comes up, with no option for the Ringer.
I think this tends to happen when I'm in my car which is communicating with my phone via Bluetooth....could that have a connection to this issue? Also, is there an easier way to mute the phone quickly? Cortana does not seem to perform the mute feature.
It seems that the call volume on my Lumia 1020 is getting lower and lower... It was fine when I got it about 6 months ago, but it is getting so bad that it is hard to have conversations on it, unless I'm in a really really quiet place...

1. I can no longer hear any notifications, or alarms.
When I navigate to settings>ringtones+notifications>and try to set my ringtone, I can't even get a preview of the sound. When i press the preview/play button, i get backed out into the settings menu again.
2. When I am typing a text and someone else texts me, I get backed out into the main menu/ metro pane menu.
Noticed these problems with OS version 8.10.12382.878
I tried a soft reset and a hard reset (factory), but it didn't work....
I convinced a colleague to buy a Nokia 1020 and she complains that the alarm volume is not loud enough. Would a different alarm app work?

For ex: when playing a song at level 10 then playing a YouTube video the volume will stay stuck at 10. Even after pressing the volume up and down does nothing. View 11 Replies View RelatedI have been having a serious issue with my Lumia 1020 there is no audio from the phone what so ever. I cant hear people when they ring and they cant hear me. The phone does not let me play music on it or play videos unless I go onto the internet and look at a youtube video but there is still no sound from it. Another issue is that when I go onto the camera app and select to take a video the phone closes its self out of the app. It does this same thing in other apps were I try to play any type of audio. There is no volume control because when the buttons are pressed a small gray strip across the top of the screen appears and goes away after a couple of seconds. Mechanically the buttons work as a have performed multiple master resets on the phone which involves using the volume down button.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've just noticed on my Lumia 1020 that when I have a Bluetooth headset connected to it I don't have the option of adjusting the Ringer volume as the slider disappears. You can see in the screenshot that I only get the one slider for Bluetooth volume.
Is this normal? I found below a topic where someone thought it was normal..if I have the headset connected, but sitting on the desk beside me waiting for a phone call, and I want to adjust the ringer volume. I don't want to have it always in my ear when not on a phone call, and I would've thought the ringer volume for the phone should always be available? Volume/Mute for Windows 8.1
I like to set my phones volume on 18/30. But it seems like every couple hours or so, the phone will reset it back to a default setting of 13/30.

When I listen to radio the volume setting of 1 is often loud enough, if I then put it in my pocket I mis all calls as it is not loud enough. If I set it back at level 25 I get woken up at night for incoming mails... BTW, why can't I even define (off-)peak synchronisation intervals for my mails?

I am trying to make my sounds for messages, emails, and notifications different but if I change the notification sound it changes all of them. If I change the messages sound it changes the notification sound also.
While I have figured out how to get the sound for individual contacts I cannot find the way to get this to work.
I had a Pearl 8120 before, and it had the ability to store different volume levels for handset, speakerphone and headset.The 9700 seems to have just one setting for all.If you change the volume on the speaker, the volume will also be changed for the headset.I find this rather annoying. Or did I overlook a setting somewhere to make it work?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI feel like this was a pretty popular request, and when we all saw the separate volume buttons, many said the same thing.finally we can hold the phone like a normal camera and not have to fiddle with touching the screen.Evidently not, seeing as nothing was mentioned of it in iOS4 or iPhone 4 keynotes, nor is it mentioned in feature overviews. Certainly not a deal breaker, just more of an annoyance. It's odd that Apple hasn't given us this feature without having to jailbreak, as I'd think the coding for it is very minimal.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Turbo, and on both KitKat and Lollipop you have to change volume settings separately. I'm always turning down my volume, just to get a full blast text alert that startles me right out of my seat. On previous phones (including other Motorola droids) all notification volume settings were linked and changed as one. Why is that not a thing anymore? How does that not just make the most sense? I know there are apps out there that could do this, but I don't want to have to download another app to simplify something that should be simple in the first place.
