Aug 14, 2013I convinced a colleague to buy a Nokia 1020 and she complains that the alarm volume is not loud enough. Would a different alarm app work?

View 10 RepliesPhone was on desk minding it own business I turned on my Bluetooth speakers bose. And the phone made a horrible sound via its speaker phone speaker. Load static for no reason. I went to the radio tuner as it sound like radio static and sure enough as it was searching the static changed.
So why would turning on my BT speakers cause the radio to turn on with static without head phones and be super loud on the phone speakers. The only way I could stop the sound was to power the phone off.
Why is it that the alarm volume does not change if you change the phone volume setting on the 1-30 scale. The alarm volume level is insanely loud, and s always the same whether you phone volume setting is on 1 or 30.
It would be very nice if the volume of the alarm could be changed as well as currently it scares the s..t out of me every morning when it goes off.
I have been having a serious issue with my Lumia 1020 there is no audio from the phone what so ever. I cant hear people when they ring and they cant hear me. The phone does not let me play music on it or play videos unless I go onto the internet and look at a youtube video but there is still no sound from it. Another issue is that when I go onto the camera app and select to take a video the phone closes its self out of the app. It does this same thing in other apps were I try to play any type of audio. There is no volume control because when the buttons are pressed a small gray strip across the top of the screen appears and goes away after a couple of seconds. Mechanically the buttons work as a have performed multiple master resets on the phone which involves using the volume down button.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have ringer volume on 25. I work on AC's so it can be a little loud.Prob is that when I open up the phone function and start dialing a number, the keypad volume is at, like, the speakerphone volumeAnd ridiculously loud. Is this a glitch or normal? My keyboard button tap sounds are fine as far as volume, but the phone number key tone is just obnoxiously loud.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was using a flashlight (torch) app to read with for the first time, and noticed after a few minutes that the camera body became extremely hot and that the OIS (image stabilisation) had been running the whole time. When I moved the camera in certain directions it made a loud screeching noise. I hoped it would improve once cool, but unfortunately not.So I will have to send it to Nokia for service/replacement, as it's ruined the ability to take videos, and who knows how much worse it will get.
View 24 Replies View RelatedOther than this one bug, the E5-00 is awesome! BUT: No matter what alarm sound I set, it is always VERY loud! I can hear it 2 rooms across... Even if I manually edit an mp3 file for it to be a lower volume, my E5-00 automatically makes it the same loudness...
Nokia E5-00FW: 42.007 (20-07-2010)
In order not to wake up my son I set my phone with volume 1 for phone and apps; this seems to work for everything but Alarm, which always sounds like if it was set at full volume.
I'm on the latest insider build and firmware.
I've notice two bugs with this new update on my unlocked 1020 with tmobile:
1. I can no longer hear any notifications, or alarms.
When I navigate to settings>ringtones+notifications>and try to set my ringtone, I can't even get a preview of the sound. When i press the preview/play button, i get backed out into the settings menu again.
2. When I am typing a text and someone else texts me, I get backed out into the main menu/ metro pane menu.
Noticed these problems with OS version 8.10.12382.878
I tried a soft reset and a hard reset (factory), but it didn't work....
Media+ apps volume is all the way up and my alarm volume is really low. I'm a missing a setting to turn it up or is it just that low?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Lumia 800, and found that the alarm clock only works when the phone is ON, but it doesn't work when it's OFF. Is there any way to change this setting? obviously it doesn't make sense to have the alarm which is only working when the phone is on, as I don't want to leave my phone on overnight.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhy doesn't the alarm work if the nokia lumia 920 is off? this is ridiculous. windows phone is junk, nokia should have stuck with Meego Harmattan and the Nokia N9
View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought this model and it's nice but it looks like I will have to trash out it because it's very load and all people hears my conversation. So how can this be fixed?
View 9 Replies View RelatedLumia 900 failed to wake me up this morning. The alarm just did not sound at all.
- Alarm was set and was shown to be in use. Even the Icon in the start screen was shown
- Tried multiple times afterwards setting the existing alarm a few minutes forward. None of the attempts alarmed.
How I set the alarm is that I always edit the existing alarm, edit the time and push the alarm on.When I tried creating a new alarm (a few minutes forward), that ringed ok. But the existing alarm failed to ring
Why does my volume keeping setting itself to like 13 out of 30 all the time and I have not touched it? I turn it back up and next time I notice it is back down.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI find call volume fairly low even at 10/10, On speaker mode its phenomenal, but the earpiece seems a bit faint. I'm guessing this is normal because I heard another person complain about it around here but I wanted to get a larger sample size.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI noticed this glitch first on Christmas morning when I was using Pandora, the volume wouldn't change and I had to restart the phone to make it work again, then again two days after but using the music and video app. Now again as I type this, I have the developers preview updates along with gdr3 and Nokia black.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed recently that my call volume has dropped pretty significantly. I now have to press my 1020 hard against my ear to hear people clearly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedProbably 60% of the time when I hit the volume down button the option to change the Ringer/Notifications and the Media/Apps volume comes up. I can then, of course, mute the volume on each of those or obviously adjust the volume. However, the other 40% of the time, only the volume for Media/Apps comes up, with no option for the Ringer.
I think this tends to happen when I'm in my car which is communicating with my phone via Bluetooth....could that have a connection to this issue? Also, is there an easier way to mute the phone quickly? Cortana does not seem to perform the mute feature.
It seems that the call volume on my Lumia 1020 is getting lower and lower... It was fine when I got it about 6 months ago, but it is getting so bad that it is hard to have conversations on it, unless I'm in a really really quiet place...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI hate being blasted with notifications when I'm jamming out lol. Will this ever be a feature for windows phone? Its damn annoying to have the music blasting and get a notification that will blow out ur eardrums -_-

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter update to wp 8.1 Prev my phone didn't recognized by my laptop (windows 7), Its been more than 9 months now. I thought its a bug in preview so I dont really care and use to move data by Remote device manager. Than I got the denim update....then wp 8.1 Update 2.... now windows 10 Technical Preview but my phone didn't recognized. Change many data cables and tried on 3 different laptops with different OS but not get luck. Than I took my laptop and all the data cables I have to the Mobile Phone Market I searched for Lumia 1020. And surprisingly I found 3 devices having update wp 8.1 not any developers preview or windows insider app. They all connected with my laptop instantly with my data cables. The 3 difference I found in my device and other devices are:
My Device:
Software: Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview
OS version: 10.012534.56
Firmware revision Number: 3051.50009.1451.1001
All other Devices:
Software: Windows Phone 8.1 Update
OS version: 8.10.14219.341
Firmware revision Number: 3051.50009.1451.1002
The volume on my 1020 has been getting stuck at whatever level I felt it on. For ex: when playing a song at level 10 then playing a YouTube video the volume will stay stuck at 10. Even after pressing the volume up and down does nothing. The only fix I found was restarting the phone but then it just happens again...
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've just noticed on my Lumia 1020 that when I have a Bluetooth headset connected to it I don't have the option of adjusting the Ringer volume as the slider disappears. You can see in the screenshot that I only get the one slider for Bluetooth volume.
Is this normal? I found below a topic where someone thought it was normal..if I have the headset connected, but sitting on the desk beside me waiting for a phone call, and I want to adjust the ringer volume. I don't want to have it always in my ear when not on a phone call, and I would've thought the ringer volume for the phone should always be available? Volume/Mute for Windows 8.1
I like to set my phones volume on 18/30. But it seems like every couple hours or so, the phone will reset it back to a default setting of 13/30.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI have managed to sinc my Nokia Lumia 1020 and factory car charger with my vehicle radio via Bluetooth and it works fine for phone calls. However, turn-by-turn audible directions do not function when Bluetooth sinc is enabled. Voice commands from the maps are totally silent in this mode. That said, turn-by-turn directions DO work when not connected to Bluetooth, but only then. I am guessing that it is a software issue having to do with the navigation application that I am using and that came standard on this phone, but I do not know that for sure.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried literally everything. Multiple USBs and computers. Installing connectivity driver. Restart my phone and computers. When plugged in, the phone will only charge. There is no indication on the computer that a device has been connected (I checked Device Manager and it's nowhere to be found, not even under hidden items). When I plug it into my computer, it's the same as plugging it into a wall outlet. I've read tons of solutions online and tried them all. It makes me think that something has gone wrong with my phone. The issue isn't my computer's USB ports or even the USBs I've tried. It sounds like an issue with my phone. When I first purchased the phone, it was able to sync to the computer and I could transfer pictures from it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to make it so my PC can detect my lumia 1020 so I can move files off/on my phone without the original USB?
The original USB is damaged and doesn't reliably connect/charge and I was wondering if there was anyway for another usb to connect my phone to my PC, or does it have to be the one that came with my phone?
