Lumia 1020 :: Why Does Volume Keeping Getting Turned Down
Sep 8, 2013Why does my volume keeping setting itself to like 13 out of 30 all the time and I have not touched it? I turn it back up and next time I notice it is back down.

Aug 13, 2013I find call volume fairly low even at 10/10, On speaker mode its phenomenal, but the earpiece seems a bit faint. I'm guessing this is normal because I heard another person complain about it around here but I wanted to get a larger sample size.

Aug 22, 2014Probably 60% of the time when I hit the volume down button the option to change the Ringer/Notifications and the Media/Apps volume comes up. I can then, of course, mute the volume on each of those or obviously adjust the volume. However, the other 40% of the time, only the volume for Media/Apps comes up, with no option for the Ringer.
I think this tends to happen when I'm in my car which is communicating with my phone via Bluetooth....could that have a connection to this issue? Also, is there an easier way to mute the phone quickly? Cortana does not seem to perform the mute feature.

Mar 23, 2015I have been having a serious issue with my Lumia 1020 there is no audio from the phone what so ever. I cant hear people when they ring and they cant hear me. The phone does not let me play music on it or play videos unless I go onto the internet and look at a youtube video but there is still no sound from it. Another issue is that when I go onto the camera app and select to take a video the phone closes its self out of the app. It does this same thing in other apps were I try to play any type of audio. There is no volume control because when the buttons are pressed a small gray strip across the top of the screen appears and goes away after a couple of seconds. Mechanically the buttons work as a have performed multiple master resets on the phone which involves using the volume down button.

Nov 20, 2014I've just noticed on my Lumia 1020 that when I have a Bluetooth headset connected to it I don't have the option of adjusting the Ringer volume as the slider disappears. You can see in the screenshot that I only get the one slider for Bluetooth volume.
Is this normal? I found below a topic where someone thought it was normal..if I have the headset connected, but sitting on the desk beside me waiting for a phone call, and I want to adjust the ringer volume. I don't want to have it always in my ear when not on a phone call, and I would've thought the ringer volume for the phone should always be available? Volume/Mute for Windows 8.1

Sep 5, 2014I'm a new user coming from an iphone to a windows phone Nokia 1520 on my Iphone I could chose to not delete email on the server when syncing I can't seem to do this with the windows email app. I want to be able to read my email on my phone when out of the office but do the permanent download from the server on my office PC ....same with my home email. We don't use exchange at work. If I sync with my phone and then delete the email from my phone it deletes it off the server.

Jun 9, 2010I am on my 3rd curve. The problem is that they warranty them out for 1 year from the first date of purchase and now mine is out of warranty Alltel says (this one is 2 months old). My problem is that my ringer volume is almost non existent. I've turned the volume up in the profiles and everything and still nothing. media is too quiet also. I've found that the only way is to use headphones and plug it in the jack. Is my speaker shot?

Nov 8, 2012I have just bought a Lumia 920 today, and now have the problems described in the thread subject... Every few minutes while idle, the phone will power down and immediately power up again. This does render the phone useless to me.. When trying to shut it down to remove the SIM card I noticed I cannot even shut it off. It would instantly turn itself back on again.
Did anyone else notice this kind of behaviour from their Lumia 920 (or maybe other phones as well)? I was really looking forward to this device and this really ruins it for me

Mar 1, 2012I have already turned off the brightness auto adjustment, however I still notice the screen brightness change slightly when there is movement on screen, for example when you use finger touch and move on the screen. ( very noticeable when background is white).I tried to live with it however find it very annoying when you play on a white background game. Like the free game Penguin ( which is similar to Tiny Wing on iOS).

Sep 15, 2014Lately, I've been getting a fair number of corrupted DNG files in my Lumia 1020 - I mean, I guess they're corrupted, since when I import them to Lightroom, the program states it can't open or edit them.
Curiously, the 5 mpx are fine.. When I check the size of the DNGs, I can see that they have, exactly, 1 byte less, in size, than the DNGs that Lightroom can edit.
