Can this be done? Getting fed up of getting a notification for whatsapp for example that sits over my browser search bar for too long, have to stop what I'm doing to open the app to clear the toast bar..
View 8 RepliesI got my 950 xl yesterday and have been having fun setting it up. Fairly new to Windows phone, so a few settings I'm still looking for. Have spent a few weeks reading this forum in prep, so am fairly up to speed with most things/issues to expect - for example my update to .29 got stuck yesterday, with low on space messages popping up, but i found a thread on here which said to plug my phone in and leave it and it eventually installed fine :)
My Glance was set to 15mins, but was always on, so now i set it to 30 seconds and it seems to like this setting. I'm missing Quiet Hrs setting, but I understand this will prob come back in a later update. Hoping the double tap to wake will come back at some point (I experimented with a 640 over the last two weeks and loved that feature). I would also like to disable vibrate on the navigation buttons, but I dont this is possible yet in Windows 10.
My question at the moment is - is there a way to disable toast notifications from apps when my phone screen is off, as at the moment the toast notification activates both the screen and Hello, which I don't think is particularly energy efficient. I still would like a toast notification when the screen is on. Is this possible?
I noticed that text messages send toast notifications when there is a new message on the top or the screen. It's there a similar function for email? I believe email has all the same options as text in the notifications settings.

The only problem is that they only display for a few seconds and they usually vanish before I can get to the phone to see what the notification was, and as far as I can tell, there's no way to pull up a list of old notifications. So I'm wondering if there's any way to make these notifications display longer. Right now, they seem to be about five seconds and they're gone. I'd like to extend that to at least ten seconds. And is there any way to pull up a list of old notifications so I can see what I might have missed when I was away from my phone?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm coming from an iPhone 4s, and I'm plugging in my 1020 into my car via usb/mini usb cord. Well as soon as I plug it in, my podcasts fire up and play automatically at random. I try to go to my podcasts or pandora and play other files and they just play on top of each other.
How can I tell where the autoplay is coming from? I HAD a podcast app, but have since deleted it thinking that could have been causing the problem. But no such luck.
Have new notifications in the Me hub and they show up as unread, even after you open them. I have several that are still showing up as unread, even though I have opened them several times.
To clarify: My theme is cobalt and I have a handful of notifications that are still showing as cobalt, while the rest are white. I thought after you checked the notification, it turned white. Correct me if I'm wrong.
How to disable the image stabilization? It's a beautiful feature that works extremely well, however I wouldn't mind disabling it for certain pictures, and definitely when recording videos!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've notice two bugs with this new update on my unlocked 1020 with tmobile:
1. I can no longer hear any notifications, or alarms.
When I navigate to settings>ringtones+notifications>and try to set my ringtone, I can't even get a preview of the sound. When i press the preview/play button, i get backed out into the settings menu again.
2. When I am typing a text and someone else texts me, I get backed out into the main menu/ metro pane menu.
Noticed these problems with OS version 8.10.12382.878
I tried a soft reset and a hard reset (factory), but it didn't work....
How do you disable notifications for things like Facebook and email? I can't seem to figure out how to disable notifications from certain apps.

If I read the text using Crunch, the notification for Crunch disappears but the regular sms notification stays there until i check the message in my regular sms box. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have 2 calendars, my personal gmail calendar, and my work (exchange) calendar. I like the gmail calendar to have a certain notification sound, and I like the work calendar to use another.
I also use Microsoft's Outlook app for my work email and calendar, and set those notification sounds how I want them.
What happens is if I have a work calendar notification popup, I get the right notification and sound from the Outlook app, but then I also get a notification and wrong sound (it uses the gmail calendar sound) from the Android calendar app.
I know I could just disable the work calendar within the Android calendar app, but I want it in there because I have a widget set up that shows my agenda from both my personal and work calendars. If I removed the work calendar, it would leave the widget.
So I don't know if all that was confusing or not, but here is what I want: Personal gmail account calendar notifications from Android calendar appWork exchange account calendar notifications from Outlook calendar app. Both personal gmail calendar and exchange calendar set up in Android calendar app so I can see them both in my agenda widget
What I don't want is when a work event occurs, is to get 2 notifications about it using 2 different notification sounds. I only want to be notified from the Outlook calendar app.
disable notifications (mainly the audio ones, but the status bar ones as well would be nice!) On Delivery Reports. I've just moved to the HD from the Desire and was able to have Delivery Reports enabled and not get any annoying notifications! If I wanted to see a report in just held on the message and tapped 'view report' from the menu, but on the HD, enabling Delivery Reports causes an audio and visual notification to happen, like a new message has come in. This is a real pain in the ass and is fast becoming a deal breaker for me as I like to have Delivery Reports on.

I already recieve a sound, and a pop up of the email, and there is an indicator of new email on my email icon on the home screen, so I don't need yet another notification.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've used exclusively Google Voice for voicemails, and not the VZW service, for over 6 months. I figure all VZW voicemails are cleared out by now. But still, the little "tape" icon is displayed in the notification banner. When I enter the voicemail app, I see that I do have one voicemail. Also, the green LED blinks incessantly sometimes (but sometimes not??). I think the voicemail notification and LED blinking are related.Is there any way to disable notifications for the VZW voicemail, both the notification icon and/or the LED blinking? The Menu button has no effect in the voicemail app, and I don't see any applicable setting in the phone's Settings menu.Or, is there some way to clear/empty/disable my VZW voice mailbox without deactivating Google voicemail for my phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI switch to airplane mode and hope to turn off all notifications because there is no connectivity to wi-fi or 3G. It turns out I was wrong, I woke up in the middle of the night to the vibration and beep of my iPhone telling my that all of my planes have landed! But do I really need to know this at 2:00 in the morning? I don't think so! I made sure airplane mode was still on and it was but I was still getting notifications just from that one app. I would like to know how to disable this without having to go into notifications settings, pocket planes, etc.
