Sent folder isn't synced with the mail server in imap, it's an old problem i have with my n8, that i had with my 5800 years ago, and that i had with my first mailsupporting nokia smartphone, is there a solution ? Even the ovi mailbox doesn't sync sent mail to the server.
View 1 RepliesI have a Nokia E52. I have an imap mailbox. It's working well on the phone, BUT when I send an email message, it moves the message to the SENT ITEMS folder of the phone. I would like the sent messages to be uploaded to the imap server into a specified folder, not in the sent items folder on the phone. I don't find this settings.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe email client on my N8 with Belle suddenly stopped working. I have configured my email with IMAP (Standard not OVI!) and it was working OK until a couple of days ago. Now I can not retrieve/send any email - I always get the message: "Unable to sign in. Try again.". I also tried and removed this particular account and added it once again (as a matter of fact I did this about 10 times!!!) but still no emails are shown. Of course this same mail is working perfectly on all of my PCs and notebooks.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently moved from iphone to Android and the G4 is my first android phone. My work email is IMAP and although everything is working, my sent folder on the phone seems local to the device. Google shows a couple of different options with the most reasonable one being "setting the IMAP path prefix" but the email app on the G4 has no such setting.
This is a pretty big deal for me as I have tons of email and need the Inbox and Sent folders to be synced with the server. (by the way, I have disabled automatic sync, but for a different reason, i.e. to not allow my gmail account to sync contacts on the phone. But the auto-sync is not something that affects the Sent folder)...
is there a way to set up the library so that it gets music from only one folder in the phone? (for example from E:Music)currently even the sound files from games are included in my library and it is really annoying

All my games are in the games folder, when i open it it took 5 seconds, so i updated it, I hoped it would make it faster, after the update it took 25 secends, tought something must have gone wrong, after another update it now takes 30 seconds, **bleep** is going on, there 31 games in it, i am using v22, why does it take so long?

Among many other DISASTERS of this ***bleep*** system, when I now connect the phone to my computer (in any way you like: mass storage, OVI, Bluetooth, either in MAC or Windows ambients) there is no way of seeing ALL the photos I have in the telephone. Some of them appear, some don't.
could you tell whether there is any way of seeing and transferring them all?
just acknowledge the fact that you inserted a BIG BUG (actually, more than one, but let's talk about this one for the moment) in belle. Believe me: having lost the possibility of transferring photos is little more than extremely annoying.
I have a 64GB microSD in my Nokia 808 Belle FP2.. I recently went on vacation and after about 600 pictures taken, I got an error that my micro SD card memory was full, and it auto switched the save location to my mass memory.I have plenty of memory free on my micro SD card still.Is there a picture or file limit in the DCIM folder?

Everything is great - phone feels much faster, menus are speedier, looks are stunning, no hitches or data loss during upgrade (except for few applications like Fring which disappeared). So congratulations on your fabulous work on the Belle firmware!A big grouse however is the redesign of the Messaging application. I am used to seeing the good old folder-based view of Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Sent, etc. as soon as I open the Messaging app (I'm sure that's the case with most people).However, in Belle, when I open Messaging, I see all my messages from all folders in one place (arranged by date & time). This is very, very confusing and not pleasant at all, since messaging is one of the most important things done on a phone, even today.I know I can still see the folder-based view by clicking on the rightmost option in taskbar and selecting "View folders". But I don't want to be doing that everytime.

View 11 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else setup the XPRT using the "Corporate Sync" account with a mailserver using ActiveSync? We've been trying a number of different phones out to do a company wide phone upgrade and have had numerous issues using the "Corporate Sync" connector within the XPRT. Our mailserver isn't Exchange but is Kerio Connect which has the ActiveSync connection. I've had no problems using the ActiveSync connection with other Android 2.2 and 2.3 phones and tablets along with iPads/iPhones but the XPRT has been troublesome to say the least. The latest problem we're having is I'm able to send a 1mb attachment but not a 2mb attachment from the "Corporate Sync" account. I get "message not sent" in the notification bar. I've tried different file types jpg and pdf and have tried it on two different phones/accounts and have had the same results. If I send the attachments out the Gmail it works fine and if I swap any other brand of Android phone to the same number/e-mail account it works fine. Looking at the Droid Pro and messaging forums this looks to always have been a problem caused by MotoBlur. I've got hours into this and Sprint connected me to Motorola Tier-2 who wants me to talk with Tier-3 which is callback only so I'm waiting.

Currently I have to copy myself in on emails and have set up a rule in outlook to move these to the sent items folder. There must be a way of syncing the sent mail folders?? Can anyone help please.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia x6 16 gb..I had it for about a week in which time I added 14gb of music and the uk maps..All was working perfectly. However.... Last Saturday I decided to use the "comes with music" voucher that came with it..I selected the music I wanted and downloaded it and was told that I had to download the DRM software to play...I clicked yes and then waited and waited..it seemed my phone had frozen as ovi player would not transfer any music to it.. I unplugged it and tried to plug back in but got the dreaded "mtp device driver failed". I have tried everything I have read on these forums and the web including:- Deleting the folder in the private folder on the mass storage card. performing a hard reset on the phone (although my music was still on the card?) Deleting all of the nokia software and running the nokia cleaner and reinstalling... Doing the above but disabling Windows media player and reanabling it a later date still no joy.. I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit on my desktop so no options to reinstall WMP just disable. I have tried to plug it into my wifes' laptop which has windows 7 home premium 32 bit and I get the same message however her nokia 5800 works fine in her laptop..

It used to be easy, but now the account setup is some kind of automated process - optimized for Ovi Mail, Gmail and such services. My email account surname is not my email address (fist.surname@gmail.com type) but something like "fisurnam". The result is that I give my password in vain, no connection established.
What should I do to create the account? It is also not clear, am I giving my password to Nokia service or is it going directly to the email account provider. This is an important thing as my work email password may not be given to anyone, not even to Nokia.
I use IMAP with my email account and set it up on my N97 (firmware v21.0.045). I have a lot of IMAP folders since i ready many mailing lists, they contain about 3000 mails at the moment. After setting it up on my N97 my C: went down from 15 MB to 1,4 MB! Although I set the memory to be used to E:. And IMAP does not download the whole mail, but just the header. So i wonder, why does IMAP on the N97 fill up C: so much? Why does it not completely use E: when told so? I use the internal mail client, no Nokia Messaging. Any hints on this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been using Nokia E72 for about 9 months now and no major issues. I have set up my official email using IMAP option and have been using it without any problem. Today when after sync of my mailbox , I was trying to read few emails. It was taking long time to open the email and later I it was hanging. I had to restart the phone and to my surprise the mailbox disappeared. I tried restarting the phone several times, but my mailbox is gone. I also moved all emails from my server INbox from my laptop email client to local folders. But still the mailbox on phone is not coming up.I do not want to do hard reset of the phone and I want to know if its okay to set up a new mailbox on the phone. WIll it cause any issues ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my 5800 phone has recently stopped retrieving emails from my IMAP inbox. No changes on the servet but I have recently installed the latest firmware 50.2.005 and all applications are up to date.
The problem is I go to inbox click on Connect and it says updating mailbox, sometimes it will download the new messages and sometimes I have to do it several times. Also the connection to the mailbox is immediately droppped. There is no "exiting will disconnect from mailbox" prompt when I exit so that shows that it is not connected. Then when I try to open a new or even an old message it connects and says updating mailbox and then sometimes the email application closes, sometimes it does not do anything and goes back to message list, sometimes it will show the message with no body and sometimes it shows an error saying could not display message. After trying several times sometimes I get to see the message content. Each time I try to open the email it attempts to connect to internet as it asks me which connection to use so it is evident the phone cannot maintain the connection open.
I have noted that after some firmware upgrade now I only have the option to download headers. Before I believe there was an option to download part of the body aswell.
when trying to delete a message from phone & server it tries to do it but finally just shows a red slash on the message icon. The message is not deleted from server either.
I tried selecting messages from memory card and phone memory and tried deleting the email account and setup from scratch but it is the same everytime.
I am using the default email client. The new Nokia email program is useless because it does not support secure connections which i need to use.
I'm trying to find the best way to view my large IMAP inbox on the N900. If I set it up as a new IMAP account the email app hangs for a good minute or two everytime I open it due to my inbox having ~10,000 messages. There are no settings to only get the last X days or to download just the headers or new messages.
So I've tried adding my IMAP account via Nokia messaging. This works o.k in that I can set it to view only the last X days but for some reason it keeps marking my emails as unread.
I open up this inbox in any other mail client & everything is read, I go via nokia messaging and they're unread. I manually open them all on my phone to mark them read but if I go back a couple of hours later they're all unread again.Any idea if they'll be an update to the default IMAP client to give it more options? or does anyone know what is going wrong with nokia messaging?
Does anyone know if the N900 will sync imap email folders and not just the inbox as other N series phones.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just set up Exchange 2010 and it runs greats supports SSL for IMAP POP and Activesync. IMAP is great because you have access to all your Inbox folders (with Active Sync / Exchange you can only have 1 such mailbox - blows). I've set up IMAP to my server on Android and BBs for my company clients - works great. I use IMAP at home with Outlook - great! I set up my Nokia Belle C7 and it pulls 20 random old messages off the server. I cannot figure out why it refuses to update the inbox contents.
I set to subscribe to all my other IMAP inbox folders no prob, it sees them. It outright refuses to see anything but the random old messages in my inbox? Whats going on? My phone is C7 Belle updated completely. I set up the account again as a "Hotmail" account and specified the exchange server - works very well and syncs well. Here you don't have access to any Inbox folders. Is this a bug with Nokia IMAP and exchange? I have another IMAP account which does work with Nokia.
I mistakenly synced my mobile phone when I connected it to Ovi Suite. I have disabled all syncing, but Ovi Suite still shows my contacts, messages, photos and music. This happens whether my phone is plugged in to the computer or not.Also where are the files stored on the computer? I would like to delete them.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Ovi Suite, but it doesn't work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using a Nokia N97 with the v21 firmware. I am connecting to a mail server via IMAP, using the phone's mail client (not mail for exchange). This has previously worked perfectly, however now I cannot update my inbox and view the emails. When I try to update the inbox, I get a dialogue box that says "Website has sent an untrusted certificate". After choosing "allow permanently", the inbox does not update. The message comes up every time I try to update (even when I've previously chosen "allow permanently".
I can however successfully send emails via the SMTP server using the phone (IMAP for sending is restricted, so have to use SMTP). Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening, and how I can solve it? I've also contacted the IT guys for the mail server, as I'm not sure whether the problem lies with the mail server or the phone, or both.
