This is the 3rd time I connected my Nokia 5800xm in Mass Storage Mode.. and after isconnecting (thru' Safely Remove Hardware..everytime) the Folders are in a Mess. pplications are shifted from its original folders to don't ask where..(Oh!) ..I could re-organise them back without much trouble.. but why is this happening? Is there any way to stop this ?

I have a Nokia x6 16 gb..I had it for about a week in which time I added 14gb of music and the uk maps..All was working perfectly. However.... Last Saturday I decided to use the "comes with music" voucher that came with it..I selected the music I wanted and downloaded it and was told that I had to download the DRM software to play...I clicked yes and then waited and waited..it seemed my phone had frozen as ovi player would not transfer any music to it.. I unplugged it and tried to plug back in but got the dreaded "mtp device driver failed". I have tried everything I have read on these forums and the web including:- Deleting the folder in the private folder on the mass storage card. performing a hard reset on the phone (although my music was still on the card?) Deleting all of the nokia software and running the nokia cleaner and reinstalling... Doing the above but disabling Windows media player and reanabling it a later date still no joy.. I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit on my desktop so no options to reinstall WMP just disable. I have tried to plug it into my wifes' laptop which has windows 7 home premium 32 bit and I get the same message however her nokia 5800 works fine in her laptop..

0) I have two message in my Inbox, Remove and replace the battery and switch on the device. After that I format E:Mass Storage and close File manager
1) In Messaging Options I select Settings and than Other and change the Memory in user to E:Mass Storage
2) I'm asked if I'd like to "copy all messages to the new message memory". I click on "Yes"
3) I'm asked if I'd like to "Save original messages" and I click "No" as I'd like to use the new stoage exclusively
After that the Inbox is empty.
I am facing a problem in Nokia X6 8GB. When I connect my phone to PC, usually there comes a list of 4 options(Ovi suite, Mass Storage, Image Transfer, Media Transfer). And i could connect phone to PC in all modes. But now, when I connect my phone to PC in mass storage mode, it automatically switches to ovi suite! I can't connect it in mass storage mode . But I can access mass storage when I connect my phone in Ovi suite mode. And I can copy files to and from mass storage. But I can't connect in mass storage mode. What might be the reason. Pls say ur valuable opinions and answers...(I have already did formating many times(both mass storage and phone). But still the problem exists)
View 3 Replies View RelatedNot sure what the problem is, but I think it's a problem with my AV software or something else on my PC or an app that's on my phone, rather than a hardware problem.A few days ago I started having problems accessing the memory card via my PC when my phone was plugged in. A restart of both fixed it on all occasions, now even that doesn't work.It shows up in My Computer but when I try to open it my PC tells me to insert a disk into drive I.It has worked without fail in the past , because my AV software used to flash up a warning that Autorun has been disabled for that device.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOn a number of occasions now I have found that my N900 becomes stuck in Mass Storage mode and I'm unable to change it to PC Suite mode. Things I try each time, removed data cable and plug it back in; clear USB devices; power N900 off and start again. Non seem to work and at some point in the future I'll get asked again and can swap mode. Is there a way on the N900 to make it change once connected?I know PC Suite is next to useless with the N900 but it is so much simpler doing appointments etc on the pc keyboard!

I have always had Sony phones in the past and they have specific folders for Video , Picture and Audio. The Nokia is confusing the hell out of me

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to use Map Loader 3.0.28.0 to load Maps onto my N97 Mini ( software version 10.0.020, 14-10-09 ), on which I have installed the latest Maps version ( 3.03 10wk01 b05 ). I've run this Maps more than once, and the cities folder exists on my E: ( Mass Memory ) drive. There is no 'F:' drive ( i.e. no memory card ). When I connect my phone to the PC, I start it in PC Suite mode. Using PC Suite 7.1, I am able to interact with my phone.
When I start Map Loader, it says 'You have connected at least one phone without a valid Maps drive. Either you are using an old Maps version - then you must update your Maps application or reconnect your phone in mass storage mode - or you have never started your Maps application - then you have to start the Maps application once and restart Map Loader'. Connecting in Mass Storage mode does not seem to help.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI was videoing a long event and at the end the time flashed and then the videoing stoped after about 26mins. I then restarted videoing the next song and ran out of mass storage memory after about 2 mins. I quickly deleted some old photo/vid and continued videoing.
Later that evening I checked the video and non was in the gallary.I check via the PC etc. I also tried a photo recovery app for mass storage solid state disks. All came up blank. I tried to record more video it would show immediately in the video players gallery view but not in the normal gallery and when I tried to play it would only show the last frame and have an error message "unable to play". It still allows the recording of photos.
I have now changed the storage to the SD card and it is fine on the SD. I have change to record to the mass storage area but it will still only do photos
I have a Nokia 808 Pureview and was having problem with a lot of the basic functionality stop working on my phone. So the phone was master reseted before any of my pictures or videos were backed up. Usually I would be able to take a recovery program on windows like recuva to get the files back but my problem was, was that the mass storage was encrypted. Would it still be possible access the encrypted data that was reset off the phone?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSince the Belle update, whenever I take a picture I am able to view it in the phone, but when I connect to a PC to transfer the picture in Mass Storage, the pictures are not there. I've looked in both the Mass Memory and Phone Memory folders. I've checked to see if the photo has a saved file name which it does. It finds them in Ovi Suite but I much prefer to use Mass Storage, it's so much easier and quicker to use.

I recently got a MetroPCS Samsung Freeform. The power cable also functions as a USB cable, which I've used before to successfully transfer pictures TO my Mac laptop and ringtones FROM my laptop.
The problem is, now I can't get the phone to go into Mass Storage mode. I go to Phone Settings->PC Connection and set it to "Mass Storage", but it never actually stays set as that. I go back and it defaults to "No conncetion".
How can I get my phone to go back into Mass Storage Mode? I got it to work before!
PS, before anyone asks, Bluetooth is off, and I have a Mac so I can't install the drivers from the CD that came with it. I have a feeling this might have something to do with the Service Menu. (when you go to Settings then press # then type in the code). I might have accidentally changed a setting when I was messing around in the service menu

I know people who plug their phones in USB to their car CD Players and use it as if it were a flash drive. Now those users who may just have purchased a new phone are now screwed. You add features for upgrades not remove them. I am shocked and truthfully appualed to see where this new type of developer planning can lead to. Next were going to get pushed onto the cloud. If I'm going to remain an Android enthusiast and recommend Android to others you will not take away the things that brought me to Android! I could seriously put my Env touch before ever getting the FIRST OG Droid in Mass Storage Mode.This is not being posted to ruffle the feathers of users on this forum. Yes I set the setting in memory to "Prompt" But I dont get the prompt? I have to use a card reader to remove/add stuff now. Its kind of annoying. When I connect my device and try to see the media using the music, pictures, or video buttons on the desktop manager it says I need to turn on mass storage mode however when I check the device settings under options/media card/ the settings are as follows:
Media Card Support ON
Encryption Mode NONE
Mass Storage Mode Support ON
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected YES
I'm at a loss as to how to make this work as everything I read says the settings are correct.
