I cannot send email. I get an error message: "No password provided for SMTP (email address.....) Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter a password." I did that. Still cannot send emails without getting this same message.

I had a curve 8310 on o2 and moved to a bold 9700 still on o2.When i moved i used the desktop manager and did the device switch over, all went well including bbm etc.However whenever i tried to send an email i recieved the error message 'transaction error failure at service' - I tried to log into my bis account online to update my pin but i couldnt log on! i havent changed the password or username since my old blackberry so i cant log on to change it online. on my blackberry when i try to log on to email settings it says the username field is blank!
i called o2 they put me through to geek squad and wanted to charge me to help!!! I havent had the phone 2 weeks yet.Now i think that i need to call o2 again and ask them something like releasing my old pin maybe from my bis account or resetting the bis account,any ideas what i should do or the type of questions i need to ask o2 if i have to ring them again.

I have been trying to configure my blackberry curve 9360 to my OWA account since the past 3 days, tried almost all available permutations and combination of putting in details to the set up menu on "email setup" on BB.When I try to enter just the email address and the password, the error message I get is "Update failed!".But when I misspell my domain (xxxxxx@DOMAIN.com) and enter the correct password, it displays the "I will provide the settings" where it gives me the option to enter my OWA URL (https://mail.xxxxxx.com), user id (domain<username>, password .I am 100% confident that the credentials i entered is correct, but still the error i get while i submit for configuration is" Cannot log in. All my e-mail acct were listed under the set-up menu, however the passwords were not working. Sprint deleted these accts and I added them back 1 by 1. The only problem is I did not remember my password. Also when I entered my E-mail name the promt shown as name already in use and I was instructed to chose another from a list. I did try to change the name by added a number but it would not except any passwords I chosen.

However, I'm obliged to send mail using my ISP (VirginMedia) and so have to set up separate account details for the SMTP server. My M8 seems quite incapable of doing this - it claims that I have the wrong username/password most of the time when verifying. Occasionally, it accepts the details, but then still can't send mail. If I revisit the settings without changing anything, it says they are invalid again.
By comparison, my Windows desktop works fine under the same conditions, and especially my Tesco HUDL! All this using my home WiFi/wired network.
Secondary question - if you are presented with a previously entered password (blobs), does the number of blobs match the password length? I notice that my SMTP password does appear to change its length after it's been accepted.
I have set this up three times now and it works for 2 or 3 days but then loses my SMTP password (smtp.hosts.co.uk).
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is only happening when I'm texting someone using iMessage - it'll say that they sent their message as a text message, but then a few minutes later I'll get their exact same message again, but this time as an iMessage - it's happened with multiple people - it says I'm still in iMessage "mode" but they're in text message mode and then i'll often receive the same message again - this has only started happening recently, and it doesn't happen every time but it happens often and I'm not sure why- has this happened to anyone else?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy very small company uses Exchange Server 2003 to host our own email. On my laptop, I use Outlook. When I'm out of the office I connect my laptop to the internet and access my exchange mail via an IMAP account. With that connection, I can send mail using the SMTP server. I got my new Atrix 2 and set up that account using the advanced settings that were the closest to the settings I use for the IMAP account in my Outlook setup. I was immediately able to see my inbox and receive email. After one tweak (that I can't remember any more), I was able to sent mail. Then a few hours later, I couldn't. I've tried every possible combination of the Advanced Settings in the Account Setup screens on the phone. Nothing works. I tried a Master Reset and all that accomplished was flushing away the contact list that the salesperson had copied to my new Atrix from my old phone when I bought it. I thought that was backed up to Google and would be restored when I logged back in but apparently not. Any advice on how to get that back? But the main problem is sending mail.

Hope this has not been asked somewhere else, but I bought used Tilt form a co worker, was told by AT&T that there should have been 5 tries to unlock, when I got it there were 3. I used 2 got one left. The IMEI # on the phone and when checked for electronically are the same. The unlock code was verfied sevaral times through AT&T and I have a european sim in it. And am unable to unlock. When the phone starts up it takes you directly to the unlock screen. Any idea why I cant unlock this? 1 try left and its not good for Europe!!!

I get this message when I try to send emails from my iPhone. I used to be able to change the sending account and after a few more attempts it would go but now nothing will from any account.
