Dec 3, 2012This is regarding my bb torch 9800. I just did an update directly from the bb website and NOT from a desktop icon. All I did was connect the phone and pressed "check for updates", from which the results said that there was an update available. It never once asked me to do a system backup...just told me that this could take up to an hour and that I'd be unable to use the phone. All my contacts are gone. This is my first bb so clearly i had no clue about doing a sync to my sim card. Is there any way that I can save all that lost contact info?

When I scroll the Synch options contact and calendar are missing. When I go to Device and Advance Settings and Default Services only my webmail accounts are shown and none of my outlook email accounts. How can I get back to synching with my outlook folder?

Oct 12, 2012I lost my bb 9800, i think i have data somewhere on bb server because when i login on BB protect website i can see that in archived back up details but i'm unable to restore it. And when i try to restore on my new 9810 it says "This data is already wirelessely synchronized with a remote service and cannot be restored by blackberry protect" only for contacts. And i've archived the device by mistake n now it shows "Remote admin commands are not available on archived devices".

Aug 11, 2010I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

Nokia :: Lost Application Icons On E71
Aug 22, 2010I've just re-installed the firmware on my E71 having completed a full backup via PC Suite before doing so. The re-installation went OK & I've restored the backed-up stuff but most of the icons from the apps located on my memory card are now missing from the Installations folder on the phone so I cannot now access any of them. Many of the apps were paid for so I don't want to have to re-install them by downloading them again from Ovi.
Is there any way I can get the application icons back in the Installations folder? They were there when I did the backup & have always come back when I have done similar re-installations in the past. The apps are on the card & App Manager tells me they are all 'installed' but won't allow me to access them.
