I recently downgraded from 8.1 DP to 8.0, to make sure that I could upgrade to Cyan.
I had gotten a lot of games through Nokias promotion, Civ, MC4 etc. Is there any way to get them back, or would I have to pay for all of them?
I'm trying to roll back my Lumia 1520 DP via Nokia Software Recovery Tool.
The tool fails downloading the firmware file (.ffu) due to checksum error. It will retry and get stuck again at 100%.

I have also tried using NSU with other RM-937 product codes and they all fail...
I'm on the latest W10 TP, and want to go back to 8.1. Will using the recovery tool erase all my photos from the SD card? I have almost 30gb of photos and when I try to back them up to my PC (via copy paste) it never works. It just freezes up.
edit: my photos are now copying over to my PC. I guess it just took a while calculating all that data? I'd still like to know if the recovery tool erases the SD card though.
like my title states how would I install denim using the recovery tool? I tried looking on here for a step by step and I'm surprised there is no manual or instructions on how to do this.. is it difficult? is it as easy as pressing a button and let it do it's thing? I would need the HK variant of Denim.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is strange. I'm running the latest Technical Preview of W10M on my Lumia 1520, and have decided I want to revert to WP8.1.
I believe the way to do this is to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool, currently at V3.1.5.
The WDRT installs just fine. When I run it and plug in my phone, it correctly identifies it as a Lumia 1520, and my phone correctly asks permission to let its USB port be used (which I OK, of course).
WDRT says "Please select device to continue" and I click on the picture of the Lumia 1520. At that point it goes to the "Reading device information" page and just sits there forever, showing the spinning circle and "Please wait".
I have multiple times a day complete crashes requiring manual reboots on my 950 XL. I tried a full reset without using a backup and that mildly worked. I was now trying to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool 3.1.4. It recognizes the phone but says "Package not available for this device." I got it from microsoft's website and it has firmware version.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter setting up my Lumia 950 XL I decided to reset it. Apparently when I added my work account, the settings mandated BitLocker be turned on. So now when I try to start the phone it goes to a BitLocker screen and won't go past. I saw online that I should be able to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool to fix this but I get a message saying the package isn't available yet for it.

The downgrade went successfully but Nokia Software Recovery tool doesn't read my phone anymore... I am running windows 8.1 as in the picture ....
I tried resetting my phone back to 8.0 so I could have the Cyan firmware installed on my 1020 along with 8.1 Update 1, however the program won't recognise the device:
The Software Updater for Retail says the exact same thing too.
How to rectify this? Or if not, any ETA on when the Cyan update can be expected to be available for Dev Preview users? I have a 930 as my daily driver now but, as an amateur photographer and filmmaker the 1020 is still a highly useful device for me.
My phone is a Nokia 1020. I installed the Windows 10 preview. I found that the camera didn't work properly so I used the recovery tool to revert back to Windows 8.1. Now my phone thinks it is a Nokia 909 instead of a 1020.

As soon as I turn in back on afterwards, battery life is still fine but doesn't change though I use the phone till phone cools down. Before I done that, I copied like for like the directories on the 32GB card to the 64GB card. Everything is there but its does not recognized my apps and i have to uninstall it the re-install it. Only apps installed on the phone are still there. Also my photos are there in the file manager but they don't come up in the Main Photo Gallery.

Yesterday I did a hard reset of my Lumia 1520 (without erasing my SD card) and after that, the game is no longer on my app list. When I go to the store to install it, it attempts to install a fresh copy of the game instead.
I plugged my phone to my PC and tried searching inside the SD card but found nothing. However, I can tell that the app is still inside the SD card as there is more than 1GB of 'other' files when I checked storage sense, which definitely must be the files for the app.
Is there a way to restore the app without doing a fresh installation? I really do not want to lose my game progress.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe text messaging app gone missing after a soft reset. This on windows 10 build 10536. There was lots of apps in the store listed error and could not install, so I did a soft reset. Everything is backed on and few app still could install with error code.
The main problem now is the text message app gone missing. The button display as 'Microsoft messaging', when I click on it says need to download an app then direct to store, but then nothing happens.
I got a Nokia Lumia 1520 last week. Coming from an HTC One (M7), I am still impressed with the smoothness of Windows Phone OS -rarely I get any loading for an app. Moreover Metro has come a long way since the days of ZuneHD.
However I got a slight problem with the date/ time. Both the date and time gets reset back to 20 July 2013, 03:00 after the battery runs out or I try a soft reset.I already tried:
1) Setting the time on manual; it will reset back to manual time and the date/time above.
2) Setting the time on automatic, will still get reset back to manual and the wrong date/time.
3) Instead of setting the phone on 4G, I used the 3G and automatic. Same as above.
4) Setting the date manually and then to automatic, keeps the date/time I setup manually.
5) Turning the device off and on again (not soft reset with the volume key) will keep the date/ time regardless if it was set manually or manually and then automatically.
Is there a lost phone app / tool / website for the Droid X like Apple's MobileMe or [URL]
Basically, if I lost my Droid X, which happens to be my work phone, what can I use to locate it?
I've recently (like earlier today) gotten ahold of MPAtool so I can get all my album art back into place.
First off, the app is awesome and if you don't currently use it, I'd highly recommend it.
ONLY problem is those "dummy files".
Every Youtube video I see on it instructs you to go to the "Music + Videos" icon, select "music", then while under "artists" you hit the # so you can bring up the alphabet of artists, from here you select the globe on the bottom right of the screen. Doing this then bring up the MPA tool dummy "artist" and you are under the "albums". Swipe left to go to songs. Hit the select icon on the bottom row so now you can easily "select all" and then delete them all at once.
HTC One M7 stuck at Android recovery
Did a factory reset for no reason and my phone died while it was resetting. Ever since it's been stuck at the android recovery, Factory reset isn't working, gives me the error : Failed to mount data, pretty much tried everything, with no luck, uploaded a video of me trying so you can see what's happening, I'm almost giving up on it.
Tried wiping cache, connecting to pc shows me a blank usb drive that's inaccessible, can't find phone on htc sync, tried to adb shell: No devices found.
The phone had no problems prior to the needless reset, the phone wasn't rooted.
