I have been having some problems with my 1520 and decided to see if a hard reset would solve the problem. However there were some problems with the backup some threads in SMS and some messages in other threads were missing, but more annoyingly a large number of apps were not reinstalled.
View 1 RepliesI just got a nokia 1520 and it won't complete a factory reset. It gets about 30% through then stalls and resets and goes through the process again. Eventually, I get a sad face and it shuts down.

Well been a few hours with my new 950, I'm coming from a lumia 920 I had for 3 years and one major issue which is probably a WP10 bug is in several apps when you get an area that requires you to type in something the keyboard comes up and then the area you need to type in goes black like the entire background of the screen goes black so you can';t type anything in, sometimes the app out right crashes after that. This is making it difficult to do things.
One example is the loyalty card app, press to add a new card and try and type in a name and it does this, found this with several other apps to.
A couple of months back I lost a load of holiday photos because my sd card failed. Now with a new card I am having problems getting music to download onto the new card. The phone doesn't see all the files. It is a brand new good quality card.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 4S, IOS 7.1.1. I did a factory reset, after first backing it up, and now that I am trying to sync all apps from that last backup, it says it cannot sync because this computer is no longer authorized. So I authorize the computer as it prompts me too, then it says, this computer is already authorized. I try to sync again, it still says computer not authorized. It's been a continuous circle. I have done everything from de-authorizing and re-authorizing the computer, removing the SC Info folder and restarting the computer and authorizing the computer associated with all Apple IDs, basically everything I have found on this site and everything support was telling me to do.

I was having issues with notifications not work and live tiles not updating so I figured I'd just do a hard reset/factory restore and it'd fix everything. Yesterday I did a hard reset of my Lumia 1520 (without erasing my SD card) and after that, the game is no longer on my app list. When I go to the store to install it, it attempts to install a fresh copy of the game instead.
I plugged my phone to my PC and tried searching inside the SD card but found nothing. However, I can tell that the app is still inside the SD card as there is more than 1GB of 'other' files when I checked storage sense, which definitely must be the files for the app.
Is there a way to restore the app without doing a fresh installation? I really do not want to lose my game progress.
I recently downgraded from 8.1 DP to 8.0, to make sure that I could upgrade to Cyan.
I had gotten a lot of games through Nokias promotion, Civ, MC4 etc. Is there any way to get them back, or would I have to pay for all of them?

View 16 Replies View RelatedVerizon Samsung S5 with Kit Kat and want to update to the latest Lollipop. The question is about restoring all the apps and data after a factory reset after the upgrade.
1. I have moved a lot of programs to the SD card- do I need to move them back to Device Memory?
2. If I sign in with my Google account after the Factory Reset after the OS upgrade, will all the apps automatically be restored/installed?
3. I have the Google backup set automatically and restore automatically- will the data and settings be restored as the apps are restored once I log into my Google account?
4. What about all my internet email accounts (Comcast, GMail, etc.)- will they automatically be restored for the messages that are on the S5 and automatically connected to the accounts or do I have to reset these up again?
5. The S5 is also my work email, which is an Exchange Server- will the Factory Reset mean that my IT dept. needs to reestablish the connection between the S5 and the Exchange Server or will that happen automatically (if emails are part of the automatic restore?)
6. I have Keis 3 installed on my computer- should I use this as a backup and restore instead of relying on the automatic Google backup and restore?
Phone will not find updates 1020 after factory reset here is what I did.
1. Removed phone from windowsphone.com
2. Did a factory reset on phone
3. Told it to do a new phone from scratch not restore backup
4. Went through all the setup screens reconnected to MS account
5. Phone was reset up on windowsphone.com
The text messaging app gone missing after a soft reset. This on windows 10 build 10536. There was lots of apps in the store listed error and could not install, so I did a soft reset. Everything is backed on and few app still could install with error code.
The main problem now is the text message app gone missing. The button display as 'Microsoft messaging', when I click on it says need to download an app then direct to store, but then nothing happens.
I got a Nokia Lumia 1520 last week. Coming from an HTC One (M7), I am still impressed with the smoothness of Windows Phone OS -rarely I get any loading for an app. Moreover Metro has come a long way since the days of ZuneHD.
However I got a slight problem with the date/ time. Both the date and time gets reset back to 20 July 2013, 03:00 after the battery runs out or I try a soft reset.I already tried:
1) Setting the time on manual; it will reset back to manual time and the date/time above.
2) Setting the time on automatic, will still get reset back to manual and the wrong date/time.
3) Instead of setting the phone on 4G, I used the 3G and automatic. Same as above.
4) Setting the date manually and then to automatic, keeps the date/time I setup manually.
5) Turning the device off and on again (not soft reset with the volume key) will keep the date/ time regardless if it was set manually or manually and then automatically.
I've installed apps on my SD card but when i took the SD card out and open it directly in windows explorer, I cant seem to find any apps in there. I've also turned on my view hidden files in folder option as well.

Just wondering what philosophies different users have with regards to storing applications. Do you store a particular type of apps on memory card or just any app?

It says to try updating my phone but my phone is already updated. I don't know what to do. Someone suggested a factory reset and I did and I lost everything because I thought I had it backed up to my SD.
None of my pictures will show up either and when I take new ones they are pixelated and different colors.
I just reverted to WP8 so I can get the Cyan update. Now I can't seem to get back the apps I had before reverting.
I did the Settings>BackUp before I reverted to WP8.
I bought my 9900 last year and I bought tapatalk app on oct, everything work fine, until I upgrade my 9900 to OS 7.1 I need reinstall all software and I found I can't reinstall tapatalk. It need me buy the app again... I asked tapatalk help and they teach me reset app world cache but I still can't reinstall the app.
