Nokia :: 5230 Does Factory Reset Deletes All Installed Apps?
Mar 1, 2010
1. If I want factory setting back ( resetting / formating phone ) does it deletes everything non-factory ? Does it reinstalls games ( factory ) if they are deleted ?
2. Why I cannot update Ovi maps 3.01 to 3.03 ? I openen the file on PC and installed it on the phone but when I try to open the maps it flashes Ovi maps interface for 0.5s and then goes back to the main menu.
Everything works ok except the built in camera !It is a very strange and unusual behavior , it is not broken but it works at totally random times !i tried everything i could but i did not succeed in finding a right pattern that makes it working all the time.I just have to turn the phone on and off all the time and HOPE that it will work.
It was like this since the beginning but i tought that a new OS update would have fix this problem , unfortunately after the latest OS updates (just done it last week) nothing has changed , The camera just works when it wants to at random times !it has 2 way of acting either i see the red circle on top for few sec and nothing happen
but the camera is active in the task manager .. but i cant kill it (the exit camera has no effect at all !) or it just works straight away ! very werid !What do u suggest that i should do ? Do i have a defective unit ?in fact when it works is ok so it is not the CCD Camera for sure but is more like an OS problem to me.i have also reset the mobile many times to the default settings
I have a Nokia nuron 5230. After a master reset can you recover the apps you had installed before? The memory card still shows the same free space, so the apps are still there somewhere, I jsut can't find them through the file organizer yet
Using a 3rd party software I accidentally erased some factory-installed apps, like the calculator, flashlight among others. I know there other similar apps in the market....
I have a 4S, IOS 7.1.1. I did a factory reset, after first backing it up, and now that I am trying to sync all apps from that last backup, it says it cannot sync because this computer is no longer authorized. So I authorize the computer as it prompts me too, then it says, this computer is already authorized. I try to sync again, it still says computer not authorized. It's been a continuous circle. I have done everything from de-authorizing and re-authorizing the computer, removing the SC Info folder and restarting the computer and authorizing the computer associated with all Apple IDs, basically everything I have found on this site and everything support was telling me to do.
I have trouble getting maps om my new 5230. I have expanded the memory with a Scandisk 8 GB card. I have downloaded the mapsinstaller and installed it on my phone using PC-suite.I got the blue worldmap menu on my phone, but when I tries to check my position I only get a red dot on a blank screen and my GPS position, no maps. After I have downloaded the mapinstaller, must I download maps from somewhere else? Should I use the phone or the PC(PC suite to download maps? Is the mapinstaller and the maploader two different downloads?Iv'e been to http://maps.nokia.com and done the download at least a dozen times.
I have been having some problems with my 1520 and decided to see if a hard reset would solve the problem. However there were some problems with the backup some threads in SMS and some messages in other threads were missing, but more annoyingly a large number of apps were not reinstalled.
Verizon Samsung S5 with Kit Kat and want to update to the latest Lollipop. The question is about restoring all the apps and data after a factory reset after the upgrade.
1. I have moved a lot of programs to the SD card- do I need to move them back to Device Memory? 2. If I sign in with my Google account after the Factory Reset after the OS upgrade, will all the apps automatically be restored/installed? 3. I have the Google backup set automatically and restore automatically- will the data and settings be restored as the apps are restored once I log into my Google account? 4. What about all my internet email accounts (Comcast, GMail, etc.)- will they automatically be restored for the messages that are on the S5 and automatically connected to the accounts or do I have to reset these up again? 5. The S5 is also my work email, which is an Exchange Server- will the Factory Reset mean that my IT dept. needs to reestablish the connection between the S5 and the Exchange Server or will that happen automatically (if emails are part of the automatic restore?) 6. I have Keis 3 installed on my computer- should I use this as a backup and restore instead of relying on the automatic Google backup and restore?
I just got a replacement iphone and restored it from a backup, however, upon trying to sync it again, the 'sync apps' checkbox is not checked. I can see my apps that are greyed out but as soon as I check the box to sync the apps, they all disappear! I haven't synced it since for fear of having to start over every time.
Apps and the Appstore are without doubt one of the key features and strengths of iPhone & iPad. They are one of the reasons why I'm using an iPhone and why I've ordered an iPad. However, many useful apps seem to eat up more and more memory for no obvious reason. For example, recently I deleted and reinstalled an IT news app that needs about 11MB itself, but memory usage had grown to over 100MB. These apps normally load new stuff from the internet at startup. As one typically only wants to read the latest news, there is no need to waste more memory than needed and no one can tell me that such news apps need lots of MB for some text and a few small-sized images.
It is not quite "Apple-like" that I need to delete and then re-install such apps (which also requires looking them up in the appstore app and then entering my itunes password, downloading, re-installing, finally placing the app where it used to be). Therefore I wonder whether upcoming iOS versions could get a feature that simply enables resetting apps without deleting them. Ideally one could choose to keep user settings and only delete temporary data. If I now check memory usage, I can only delete the whole app, which is not what I actually want as I told above. I just want to free up some memory from time to time, memory that is just wasted for whatever. I'm not familiar with iOS programming, therefore I don't know if it's possible/useful to separate the memory into distinct parts: one for the actual code of the app, user settings, and temporary data. Maybe that's how it's done already.
Does anyone know how I can reset my password?I want to donate my phone and change password to 0000 and it take it, but when phone reboot without SIM card after key in 000 it go into emergency call mode. And old password before 0000 also don't work.
I was having connectivity issues with my n8, and found that if I turned it off then on again, it would work ok again.Yesterday I did this, and when it restarted, it came up with the "select a country" etc. It had done a factory reset by itself. I hadn't backed up for a while, and lost all my contacts and files, even the contacts stored on my SIM card!Plugging it into my PC to have a look, the mass memory says 14.2GB free of 14.2GB (ok, there is nothing left), but the phone memory says 0 free of 255MB. ie full! But checking all the folders, there is nothing there.
my nokia 6288 crashing Immediately after I turn it on is there a way to reset it to factory settings without turning on the phone? and is there a way to do a firmware upgrade without turning on the phone?
Battery died and when I recharged it, it had reset itself to when I had first purchased it. All contacts, photos, music, etc. is gone. Any way I can restore old photos?
My N97 is updated to the latest. I go to MENU-->>APPLICATIONS-->>SW UPDATE, it scans for updates and shows 'ALL APPLICATIONS ARE UPTODATE'. Now then, if i reset the device with a *#7370#, will it delete these updates as well? Not that i intend to reset my device, just curious world laughs with you. Cry, and the world laughs louder.
I'm using a nokia 808 phone and after doing a factory reset the my location widget is gone. Is there any standalone installer for this? this is my first reset of my phone since I bought it..
i have got a problem with ovi store after i did the factory reset to my Nokia N8 ovi store wont lunch it just keep loading i tried reinstalling ovi store but i get the same problem?
I did a factory reset (not a three finger salute), and now the Ovi Store just cycles through the loading window. The little circles spin around and around -- with no end.
I am having a few problems with my phone and am thinking of doing a Factory reset and backup restore.
1) The factory reset has two options - Factory Reset and Factory Reset with Data. What is the difference between the two? Factory Reset = What settings are reset? I assume all installed applications / data is maintained? Factory Reset and Data = I assume this is similar to the other reset but it also removes all custom data from the two internal memory areas (phone and mass memory)? Am I right in thinking that anything on the micro SD card is kept?
2) Phone Back up & Restore? Does anyone know what data/settings are backed up and can be restored? As an example, if I performed a full backup of my phone (including music and ringtones) and then did a full factory reset including data, would the restore put my phone back in exactly the same postition I was in when the phone was backed up and before the factory reset? Does this include homescreen and menu format changes? On my 6700 the restore would only restore apps / settings but not menu structure and I had to reinstall apps installed on my external memory stick (such as Opera).
I really want to update to iOS 5.1... But when I try to, it says that it deletes my apps. My friend said they don't, but she has her apps synced on iTunes. I can't do that or else it'll delete all of my apps, anyways. My brother said that they released a patch for that, but...Does it really delete your apps? I'm 2 updates behind because this happened with the last one, but I really want the battery update and deleting songs from the iPhone itself... I just want to know before hand beause I have a lot of apps already (23 to be exact, since they take up lots of space) and I really don't feel like redownloading all of them. Plus the update takes hours on its own.
My E75 built-in browser is not working. After I open the "Web" tab it gives the list of bookmars, but as soon as I press left soft key it either exits back to the menu. And the other web-related icons (Download!, Files on Ovi; Software Update) don't work. Moreover, Download! reports "Unrecoverable error".
It started on 201.12.01 firmware, thought that update would help. 202.12.01 brought no changes.Factory reset wasn't helpful too. Tried uninstalling Opera mobile 10 beta, changing language, also - no changes.
It started randomly. i can still browse the internet but i cant call anyone and i cant sed or recieve text messages.ive tried a factory reset but i still gave the same problem.
My phone has a lock code on it and when i try to enter it, it keeps saying error. I've even tried the factory default one but it wont work :s phone has been working fine since this?
Anyways, I have managed to change my homescreen, widgets and subsequent screens so much that now I'm bored with it. I would like to reset all these screens back their original state.
I had a problem when I added an Exchange Mailbox on a Nokia N8 and I had to take off the Device PIN lock from Exchange Access Clients and it automaticaly restarted the phone followed by a factory reset. When it was done, the phone lost all its contacts, messages and music. Than I have discovered the MicroSDHC Class 4 Card 8Gb was not been recognized in Windows and tried also on Linux with no success. Is there anyway to recover back the important information from the MicroSD card?
