My question is should I allow apps to be installed on it. Or should I fill up the internal hd first (Still have over 7gb free space)
I previously saved the game 'Lost Echo' on my SD card. Yesterday I did a hard reset of my Lumia 1520 (without erasing my SD card) and after that, the game is no longer on my app list. When I go to the store to install it, it attempts to install a fresh copy of the game instead.
I plugged my phone to my PC and tried searching inside the SD card but found nothing. However, I can tell that the app is still inside the SD card as there is more than 1GB of 'other' files when I checked storage sense, which definitely must be the files for the app.
Is there a way to restore the app without doing a fresh installation? I really do not want to lose my game progress.
I've installed apps on my SD card but when i took the SD card out and open it directly in windows explorer, I cant seem to find any apps in there. I've also turned on my view hidden files in folder option as well.
I am WP8.1 Dev Preview
Just wondering what philosophies different users have with regards to storing applications. Do you store a particular type of apps on memory card or just any app?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI want to add more music to my 1520, so I was thinking about getting a bigger microSD card. It's definitely outgrowing my 32GB one, so I have my sights on a 64GB (or maybe even a 128GB). I don't mind having to re-add my music to the new microSD. The major question here is: Can I move my apps (and data) from one microSD to another microSD smoothly and successfully?
I'd really don't want to have to re-download ALL of my apps onto the new microSD card. Downloading my apps to my phone's memory is not an option; the phone doesn't have enough free memory to accommodate my app catalog. I already know how I will do it...it's only a matter of if it can be done.
Yesterday I replaced my SD Card from a San disk 32GB to a Sandisk 64GB for use with my Nokia Lumia 1520. Before I done that, I copied like for like the directories on the 32GB card to the 64GB card. Everything is there but its does not recognized my apps and i have to uninstall it the re-install it. Only apps installed on the phone are still there. Also my photos are there in the file manager but they don't come up in the Main Photo Gallery.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just added a 32GB SD card to my Lumia 1520. I'd like to move some of the items that are on my phone (photos, music, files for work, etc.) onto the card.
Also, I've seen threads on here that mention issues with music that has been moved to the cards not being playable. I have enough issues with my phone giving error messages on the music app now without adding another complication.
I did not restore from backup, instead I did a clean install and downloaded all my apps again. The phone is faster and far less buggy.
Unfortunately, apps "disappear". Vine was installed, signed in, and pinned to the Start screen. Now it is a blank tile. In the app list I see the Vine app but the icon is just a black square. If I click on it I get a black screen that says "Resuming...".
Purchased a new SD card by Transcend 32G. It could not be found in the phone when inserted. I formatted the card on my PC after these failings, readily recognized there....and did a quick format and a soft reset, as well as a Hard Reset. Still the phone would not recognize the Card. More Reading. Back to the PC did a "slow" Format, turned off the phone and did a hard reset. At the large exclamation point I inserted the SD card and pushed the series of buttons to begin the "turning on of the phone". In my earlier formats and resets I didn't attempt to install the card until after the reset had been completed. My thinking in the last instance was "maybe" the phone would re-format the card.

1. Moved twitter app to sd card: It took around 10-15 mins and after that i couldnt open twitter. I had to uninstall it and then install again to use it and in the process lost the data.
2. Moved all my images from phone to sd card but it didnt free up phone memory at all and sd memory filled up
I used storage sense for moving twitter app and used gallery to move images.
I just want to find out if you have a 1520 which has an external memory - SD card. If you download video clips from "tube download" & "YouTube Downloader free" apps for offline viewing. Where are these video clips stored - phone memory or SD card?

Now I have a big annoying problem, I can't install apps on my SD card neither on phone memory whatever I try. I have already done a reset and also formatted the SD card. Still nothing good. I've been restarting my phone all over and over but the app is still there installing but not actually installing and when my screen times out there's no other way to start the phone than restarting it. I'm so much pissed off right now!

All my apps are gone but when I check the apps manager, it lists all the previously installed apps are installed. :s No apps icons visible in the apps folder but memory card detected and can be accessed via file manager.I have already removed and reinserted the card several times and turned the phone on/off.What to do ? View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia Lumia 1520 has been acting up lately. My phone tells me that there is a "SIM Card Error" and claims that the card is either missing or invalid. I subsequently changed SIM cards, but the message remained. I even hooked up the same SIM card to a different phone, which functioned, indicating that the problem lies with the phone itself. I even did a factory reset, but to no avail.

View 9 Replies View RelatedDoes the Lumia 1520 stream music even if it exists on the SD card locally? It seems like the network active arrow indicator is on an awful lot when I am listening to music, even though I have the "show streaming music in my collection" setting off.
Also, I get error messages saying "Can't fetch rights. Sorry, this song may be unavailable for streaming. Please try purchasing from the store."
These are not subscription songs; I own them, they are MP3 format and not DRM protected and they are on my SD card locally.
I use the Windows Phone app to transfer songs from my Windows 7 PC to my Lumia 1520 with the 8.1 update.
I also get messages on some songs saying "Can't play. Sorry, we cannot play this song on your phone. It may be corrupted, or be an unsupported file type." so I suspect the files are corrupted in both cases and need to be resynched.
A couple of months back I lost a load of holiday photos because my sd card failed. Now with a new card I am having problems getting music to download onto the new card. The phone doesn't see all the files. It is a brand new good quality card.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo this is a two-fold issue. The first and most major is that my second SIM card is showing that it has data usage (by an assortment of apps, and mainly System). This is viewable via the Data Usage in settings. I wouldn't normally care too much as long as the SIM 1 data usage is accurate.
The second issue stems from this. I have it set as a metered connection and the correct values set for data allowance, etc. It is still showing data available, with about 250MB still left (out of 2GB). Every time I enter or leave a WIFI network (or it detects a wifi network for auto-connect), I am getting a notification saying that I have used more data than I have allotted. Then when I go to the data usage, it shows that I still have data. Now, the SIM 2 is also showing data, which when added to the SIM 1, would put it over my allotted.
So a couple things:
SIM 2 is showing data usage even without SIM card'You've reached your data limit' notification keeps popping up even though I have data leftData Usage metered connection not showing total usage for both SIM within metered usage even though it's generating it's message based on that.
It is pretty annoying getting that notification all the time, especially since it's a system notification and I like having those set to sound. Also, I can't have 'restrict data usage on overage' turned on due to this bug.
Any time I try to download apps or update them they won't install and I get the same error message: "We're having trouble installing the app..." It says to try updating my phone but my phone is already updated. I don't know what to do. Someone suggested a factory reset and I did and I lost everything because I thought I had it backed up to my SD.
None of my pictures will show up either and when I take new ones they are pixelated and different colors.
I just reverted to WP8 so I can get the Cyan update. Now I can't seem to get back the apps I had before reverting.
I did the Settings>BackUp before I reverted to WP8.
I've had a 1520 for a few months now, fitted with a 64GB memory card. It's got pretty full as I install all my apps, games, photos and videos on it.
Decided to get one of the new 128GB SanDisk cards... Turned off the phone, took card out and copied all my data off the old card onto the new one via a PC, even made sure the new card had the same name as the old one. However when I put the new card in the phone and turned it on, it saw it as a new card and asked me if I wanted to use it to store stuff on. I said yes... but when I went to the photo gallery there was nothing there...
I put my old card back in and all was fine again... the 128GB one is definitely not a fake, I bought a few directly from SanDisk through the place where I work. Incidentally I upgraded the card in my Surface Pro 2 following same procedure and it worked like a charm.
Not sure what else I need to do to get my phone to record video to the internal card? I have switched the settings in storage settings. Is there anything else that needs to be done?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt was working fine with the DP then I downgraded and did the official update and now I can't get storage sense to see the card. The files app sees the card and data just fine.
