My phone is a Nokia 1020. I installed the Windows 10 preview. I found that the camera didn't work properly so I used the recovery tool to revert back to Windows 8.1. Now my phone thinks it is a Nokia 909 instead of a 1020.
View 5 RepliesThis is strange. I'm running the latest Technical Preview of W10M on my Lumia 1520, and have decided I want to revert to WP8.1.
I believe the way to do this is to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool, currently at V3.1.5.
The WDRT installs just fine. When I run it and plug in my phone, it correctly identifies it as a Lumia 1520, and my phone correctly asks permission to let its USB port be used (which I OK, of course).
WDRT says "Please select device to continue" and I click on the picture of the Lumia 1520. At that point it goes to the "Reading device information" page and just sits there forever, showing the spinning circle and "Please wait".
I tried resetting my phone back to 8.0 so I could have the Cyan firmware installed on my 1020 along with 8.1 Update 1, however the program won't recognise the device:
The Software Updater for Retail says the exact same thing too.
How to rectify this? Or if not, any ETA on when the Cyan update can be expected to be available for Dev Preview users? I have a 930 as my daily driver now but, as an amateur photographer and filmmaker the 1020 is still a highly useful device for me.
I've downloaded the windows recovery toolkit. It'll let me download the firmware (1.6gb roughly) but then it tells me that it can't find my phone after it finishes the download.
I made the mistake of putting the tech preview on my main driver and my battery is dying ridiculously fast (among other instabilities)...
Used a File app to make up some photo albums for tt and Le Mans classic and in doing so I have lost the ability to open up photo with Nokia camera beta and look at info or even revert back to original photo if the photo has been zoomed. How to get original photos back.

I was now trying to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool 3.1.4. It recognizes the phone but says "Package not available for this device." I got it from microsoft's website and it has firmware version.

So now when I try to start the phone it goes to a BitLocker screen and won't go past. I saw online that I should be able to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool to fix this but I get a message saying the package isn't available yet for it.

The tool fails downloading the firmware file (.ffu) due to checksum error. It will retry and get stuck again at 100%.

I'm on the latest W10 TP, and want to go back to 8.1. Will using the recovery tool erase all my photos from the SD card? I have almost 30gb of photos and when I try to back them up to my PC (via copy paste) it never works. It just freezes up.
edit: my photos are now copying over to my PC. I guess it just took a while calculating all that data? I'd still like to know if the recovery tool erases the SD card though.
like my title states how would I install denim using the recovery tool? I tried looking on here for a step by step and I'm surprised there is no manual or instructions on how to do this.. is it difficult? is it as easy as pressing a button and let it do it's thing? I would need the HK variant of Denim.

Recently I had update my device (Pearl 8100) from OS 4.2 to 4.5. I also upgrade my BBM to 5.0 something. At first, it works properly and after a few days, it seems didn't works. The problem is such as i can't use or enter BBM from the shortcut. Then there is a message written about file error or something.

First off, the app is awesome and if you don't currently use it, I'd highly recommend it.
ONLY problem is those "dummy files".
Every Youtube video I see on it instructs you to go to the "Music + Videos" icon, select "music", then while under "artists" you hit the # so you can bring up the alphabet of artists, from here you select the globe on the bottom right of the screen. Doing this then bring up the MPA tool dummy "artist" and you are under the "albums". Swipe left to go to songs. Hit the select icon on the bottom row so now you can easily "select all" and then delete them all at once.
I keep having issues with my camera button. I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue, but whenever I press the button to take a picture, I end up with a short 2-3 second video instead. The setting for "hold camera button" is disabled, not det to photo bursts or video. The camera icon on screen works fine, but having a dedicated camera button was a huge game changer for me.

OIS works when we manually set focus to infinity
But OIS doesn't work when Focus is on Manual.
However In Video mode,
OIS works in all 3 cases, i.e. OIS works whether focus is Auto or to infinity or Focus is Manual.
Let us request Nokia to look into this matter and release an update to Nokia Camera app to fix this issue.
My old s6 never had it, so does everyone else have it now too or is there something wrong with mines. I can't turn it off in the settings.

Yet as the day went on, the phone never charged, it continued to go down, even plugged in. I tried plugging in the camera extension but even with that it eventually discharged to 4% then stuck there, plugged in. When I'd unplug, I would get the critical battery warning. I tried rebooting twice, and finally on the 2nd reboot, the battery level went to 100%.

I'm a former At&t wireless customer and current Internet customer but that doesn't make it any easier to unlock the device. I've spoken with many representatives and they all have directed me to the att.com/deviceunlock website. However, the IMEI section always rejects our phone and says it can't be unlocked. I had a representative supposedly fill it out but never received an email response, and now I have been talking to the in store rep's to attempt to get it unlocked.

We had the same issue with our 1020. It appears to be directly related to battery saver mode in settings. When we turn battery saver off, the LEDs seem to work perfectly. When battery saver is on, we experience all the above strange issues. We also have a 920, and battery saver mode does not affect the LEDs on the 920 at all, hence why we're hesitant to say with100% authority that this is the issue with the 1020.

View 15 Replies View RelatedProbably 60% of the time when I hit the volume down button the option to change the Ringer/Notifications and the Media/Apps volume comes up. I can then, of course, mute the volume on each of those or obviously adjust the volume. However, the other 40% of the time, only the volume for Media/Apps comes up, with no option for the Ringer.
I think this tends to happen when I'm in my car which is communicating with my phone via Bluetooth....could that have a connection to this issue? Also, is there an easier way to mute the phone quickly? Cortana does not seem to perform the mute feature.
I am using latest build 10586. Is there any chance to get DNG support back in Windows Mobile 10 for the Lumia 1020?
