After downloading the pdf files from internet/mail it shows in the file explorer, but when try to open it, the app pickup list only showing Project Spartan. Nothing else, no Adobe Reader nor PDF reader. I installed another PDF file reader app call Xodo, still no luck.
View 3 RepliesI regularly get .eml attachement files on my Samsung Focus with Mango. I can't get them to open. I'm using the built in Oultook email email client. I have Exchange. (.eml files are emails that are attached to an email.) A friend who has the same phone says he can open them. Could that be? What could I do to get them open?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI used to have a nokia n95 a few years back, I no longer have it. But I found a load of old files in a folder labelled 'nokia n95 phone messages' stored on my comp. As the folder name suggests, they're phone messages (I assume so anyway) ! I now want to open these messages but cant find a way to do so! I have downloaded the nokia suite 3.2.100 and tried to open them in there, but to no avail. How I could open these files on windows?!

I have accessed my files (mainly movies) from another windows computer just fine. I just got a macbook air for christmas and i tried to access my movies through zumocast on my mac but none of the files showed up. I dont want to put all the files on my new laptop because it only has a 120 SSD installed. Is it possible for me to access those files on my desktop from my mac?

I would also like to find out if I can re-upgrade to windows 8.1. I am suspecting that it may not have installed correctly because there was power interruption during the upgrade process. My phone is Lumia 1020.
I have a Lumia 1020 and like two months ago it just stopped being recognized by my pc for syncing it. I tried connecting it to a mac and another pc and it is not recognized. I reset my phone but that didn't work. I'm using the original cable but it does not work.
View 15 Replies View RelatedProbably 60% of the time when I hit the volume down button the option to change the Ringer/Notifications and the Media/Apps volume comes up. I can then, of course, mute the volume on each of those or obviously adjust the volume. However, the other 40% of the time, only the volume for Media/Apps comes up, with no option for the Ringer.
I think this tends to happen when I'm in my car which is communicating with my phone via Bluetooth....could that have a connection to this issue? Also, is there an easier way to mute the phone quickly? Cortana does not seem to perform the mute feature.
I am using latest build 10586. Is there any chance to get DNG support back in Windows Mobile 10 for the Lumia 1020?

I tried to uninstall it and the replug it in but this does not work. I followed the instructions at: support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2749484 but without success. My phone still won't be recognized.

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got a brand new (straight from ATT fresh out of the box) Lumia 1020. Usually they come with a decent enough charge left in them to turn them on and go through setup etc.. however this one seemed totally dead so I figured the battery must have run out.
I plug it in to the wall using the charger that came with the phone and nothing happens, I switch over to plugging in via USB to my computer and the computer does recognize and install the drivers however the 1020 will not start.
I have noticed that the home (windows) button is blinking repeatedly and I assume that means its trying to charge however a few things
The windows button does not blink when plugged in to the wall socket, when plugged in via my USB hub the windows button blinks long slow blinks, when plugged directly in to my computers USB port the windows button blink short fast blinks.
I have recently updated to the latest version of Windows Phone 10. The camera suddenly stopped working. It either shows a black screen (in photo mode) or 4 small squares of the same image (in Video Mode).

I went ahead and approved it and it ended up being the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade. The upgrade went smoothly. For some reason Windows Maps will not launch. This is also affecting the HERE app.

I use the windows phone app on my Mac but it when I delete all the images via the app it still shows that there is still images on the phone even though my camera roll on the actual phone shows no images. It's still showing 7GB worth of images on the windows phone app when the phone is connected to the app. I even deleted all media content and it still shows it.

After I connected it to a wi-fi it did multiple updates and now the windows version is 8.10.14226.359.An update in the Store was stuck and in another thread the restore factory defaults option was proposed, and so I did a factory reset after all the OS updates had taken place.After that I also updated all applications in the Store.The problem is, that only one Camera application is installed on the phone and I cannot find the NOKIA camera app which allows the 38 MP raw images to be captured. View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter being a huge advocate for Windows Phone I'm just about done with it after moving from WP7.5 and Zune to WP8.I can't sync anything using Windows Media Player. I put stuff in the sync list and it looks like it syncs then I check the sync status and everything has "error" in the status and nothing has copied. Doesn't matter if it's songs I own or subscription - nothing syncs through media player. I think I did get it to sync to my wife's 620.
According to MSFT this will not let me sync Zune subscription which is another issue I have - and the biggest issue is that I can't sync playlists period. They show up with 0 songs when I sync using the Windows Phone App. But I was hoping using Media Player might solve that but it's not working.I'm using WIndows 7 on my PC. I'm a long time Zune user/promoter. Right now I can't get music on my phone in any reasonable fashion.
I've notice two bugs with this new update on my unlocked 1020 with tmobile:
1. I can no longer hear any notifications, or alarms.
When I navigate to settings>ringtones+notifications>and try to set my ringtone, I can't even get a preview of the sound. When i press the preview/play button, i get backed out into the settings menu again.
2. When I am typing a text and someone else texts me, I get backed out into the main menu/ metro pane menu.
Noticed these problems with OS version 8.10.12382.878
I tried a soft reset and a hard reset (factory), but it didn't work....
Having owned several iPhones, iPods, and numerous mp3 players, I am still unable to create or edit a playlist in Windows Explorer on my Lumia 1020. I have more than 2000 songs on the phone and would like to be able to make several playlists the easy way. Inside the playlist folder I can find no way to make, edit or add songs to a playlist. I would hate to have to put all my music into iTunes again and then sync and transfer it to the phone. Likewise, I would hate to try to use Windows Media Player and sync and transfer that to the Windows 8 phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLately, I've been getting a fair number of corrupted DNG files in my Lumia 1020 - I mean, I guess they're corrupted, since when I import them to Lightroom, the program states it can't open or edit them.
Curiously, the 5 mpx are fine.. When I check the size of the DNGs, I can see that they have, exactly, 1 byte less, in size, than the DNGs that Lightroom can edit.
I am at my wits end trying to work out how to back up the RAW files from the Nokia 1020 to an external hard drive.
When I use the windows phone app on my Mac computer it always converts it to a jpeg file. Even if I drag the file to the desktop.
When I copy it to iPhoto, then try and export the original Raw file it exports a jpeg. Even if I tell it to export original.
It appears that iPhoto is using the RAW file becasue there is no jpeg written at the end of the file name, plus the file looks smooth when enlarged in iPhoto
I know that in the recent past, the Lumina 1020 couldn't auto upload raw files to SkyDrive. I was just wondering if anything has changed now that it's OneDrive. Is it now possible to auto upload our raw files to OneDrive?
I am hoping that we could essentially take pictures (away from our computers and cables) and just delete the photos to make room on the phones (knowing that they are safely backed up on OneDrive).
