I'm trying to roll back my Lumia 1520 DP via Nokia Software Recovery Tool.
The tool fails downloading the firmware file (.ffu) due to checksum error. It will retry and get stuck again at 100%.

I have also tried using NSU with other RM-937 product codes and they all fail...
I'm on the latest W10 TP, and want to go back to 8.1. Will using the recovery tool erase all my photos from the SD card? I have almost 30gb of photos and when I try to back them up to my PC (via copy paste) it never works. It just freezes up.
edit: my photos are now copying over to my PC. I guess it just took a while calculating all that data? I'd still like to know if the recovery tool erases the SD card though.
like my title states how would I install denim using the recovery tool? I tried looking on here for a step by step and I'm surprised there is no manual or instructions on how to do this.. is it difficult? is it as easy as pressing a button and let it do it's thing? I would need the HK variant of Denim.

I had gotten a lot of games through Nokias promotion, Civ, MC4 etc. Is there any way to get them back, or would I have to pay for all of them?
This is strange. I'm running the latest Technical Preview of W10M on my Lumia 1520, and have decided I want to revert to WP8.1.
I believe the way to do this is to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool, currently at V3.1.5.
The WDRT installs just fine. When I run it and plug in my phone, it correctly identifies it as a Lumia 1520, and my phone correctly asks permission to let its USB port be used (which I OK, of course).
WDRT says "Please select device to continue" and I click on the picture of the Lumia 1520. At that point it goes to the "Reading device information" page and just sits there forever, showing the spinning circle and "Please wait".
I have multiple times a day complete crashes requiring manual reboots on my 950 XL. I tried a full reset without using a backup and that mildly worked. I was now trying to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool 3.1.4. It recognizes the phone but says "Package not available for this device." I got it from microsoft's website and it has firmware version.

So now when I try to start the phone it goes to a BitLocker screen and won't go past. I saw online that I should be able to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool to fix this but I get a message saying the package isn't available yet for it.

I tried resetting my phone back to 8.0 so I could have the Cyan firmware installed on my 1020 along with 8.1 Update 1, however the program won't recognise the device:
The Software Updater for Retail says the exact same thing too.
How to rectify this? Or if not, any ETA on when the Cyan update can be expected to be available for Dev Preview users? I have a 930 as my daily driver now but, as an amateur photographer and filmmaker the 1020 is still a highly useful device for me.
My phone is a Nokia 1020. I installed the Windows 10 preview. I found that the camera didn't work properly so I used the recovery tool to revert back to Windows 8.1. Now my phone thinks it is a Nokia 909 instead of a 1020.

I subsequently changed SIM cards, but the message remained. I even hooked up the same SIM card to a different phone, which functioned, indicating that the problem lies with the phone itself. I am now trying sync/download on Nokia 1520 (purchased yesterday) - every time I try and download a song, I am reminded that " You are already downloading songs on the maximum number of devices allowed. You can manage your devices by going to Mange Music Devices in Xbox Music Account Setting".I have removed the iPhone but every time I try and download a song I get the same reminder to "manage devices" and every time I go back into account settings.. All devices registered are still there.

Everything was working great except I had an issue with my bluetooth connection in the car so I decided to do a reset on the device to see if it would fix the problem. After the reset, the problem was fixed, however I have 7 apps that will just not install. I keep getting an error saying
"Application name needs to be installed on my internal hard drive. We'll override your settings only for this installation" (apps are installed on my SD Card). After I say OK, it will start downloading and then I get "Error, see details" and I get the same error message again. If I cancel the download, the next time I check for updates, these all come up again and I get the same error messages again.
Starting today I'm getting a SIM error on my phone - it's just the simple message of it being missing or invalid and I can only make emergency calls if my mobile operator supports it......

Push mail, contact sync,everything else is not a problem. The prob is basically manual sync, and on top of the email app, it says that the last time it was updated was 2 months ago (this is when it first started, i installed cyan using nokia recovery tool)

I'm an happy owner of a lumia 1520. unfortunately i discovered that randomly (more or less once per week) the phone audio service / device completely stops, i cannot hear calls, xbox music or other players fail to play files and so on. xbox music reports error 8007045D. I have to restart the device to solve the issue.

First off, the app is awesome and if you don't currently use it, I'd highly recommend it.
ONLY problem is those "dummy files".
Every Youtube video I see on it instructs you to go to the "Music + Videos" icon, select "music", then while under "artists" you hit the # so you can bring up the alphabet of artists, from here you select the globe on the bottom right of the screen. Doing this then bring up the MPA tool dummy "artist" and you are under the "albums". Swipe left to go to songs. Hit the select icon on the bottom row so now you can easily "select all" and then delete them all at once.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a friend's iPhone after he seemingly bricked it by using blackra1n and then wanting to unlock it so he used blacksno and then he said he got something called buetbunueter and he thinks he hit a wrong button and screwed it all up.
I started off by trying a simple restore of the iPhone as that is basically the only thing that will come up consistently. Unfortunately I get error 23 and the phone cannot be restored. I've tried 1.1.2, 3.1.2, and a custom 3.1.2 from Pwnage.
I then went into DFU mode and tried all 3 firmwares again, but this time I got error 1600. So, yet another failure.
I've tried iRecovery and that doesn't seem to help and I've tried using blackra1n again but it just seems to hang on the logo when it is supposed to be rebooting.
Anyone have any ideas or tips, I've been googling for about 2 hours and have seem way too many blogs.
Well, this is interesting. New phone out and no recovery available, despite Windows Device Recovery Tool detecting the 950, there is no recovery available.

While updating to iOS 4 it just errored out with error 14. iTunes said I had to restore before moving on. So I did, when progress bar starts when updating iphone software it errors out all time on error 14. Tried all the solutions under Apple support different USB port, restarting computer, different 32 pin cable,different computer. Nothing works errors out on same error.
Looking into the debug log i do notice why it always crashes always see this come up: decompressData failed with error 1000. I dunno but I am starting to lean towards a hardware failure.
Any ideas?
