BB Torch :: 9800 GPS Enabled - Possible To Track From Computer If Lost?
Oct 14, 2011
My Torch is enable with gps. I can use Google map to see exactly where I am on the phone, I also Installed blackberry protect. If I lost my phone, Can I use my computer to track where is the phone? How do I do it if is possible?
I updated my software last week and now my call and end call buttons rarely work, and the menu and return buttons on occassion stop working. I can't end a call and disconnect! or call a number on the screen without using the touch screen and enter button on the QWERTY key pad.Now my wifes phone (whose usage is SUPER LOW) is having the same problem....I tried to reload the latest software package, but it made NO difference.
Anyone have any issues with Poynt on the Torch? I installed Poynt v1.5.4.12 and the trackpad doesn't seem fully functional when navigating through the menus.Say if I go to Movies, I can't click on the trackpad to select any of the options, like "Movies Near Me" or "Theaters Near Me."Instead, I have to select the option using the touchscreen. Then when I go to theaters or movies, the touchpad can only highlight the first theater/movie, then jumps to "More" at the bottom instead of the next theater/movie when you try scrolling down.At least here I can click on the trackpad to bring up the popup menu, though only for that first item on the list.I can move through the lists by flicking up/down on the touchscreen, but if I try to highlight an item by touching it, it always brings up the popup menu, which is annoying when all I want to do is see the movie times, which would be displayed just by highlighting the item.
I am running windows 7 and no noise nor does my device manager detect my phone when connnect. Neither does the Blackbery device software. All are up to date. I am at a loss. I am not using a hub and i have tried several usb ports on my laptop now. Nothing.
I have downloaded the desktop software for BB twice and reinstalled. No luck. I am unable to find where to enable mass storage under options. There is only a option for media card but nothing regarding Mass Storage.
I've noticed that my battery drains easily. I bought my torch less than a week. I did a lot of stuffs just to save the power of my battery but it seems useless. The Lightningbolt was lost while im charging. I tried ti charge it while its of but again, it was useless
My Issue is as the above subject header reads. Also, the BB Knowledge Base Article KB23925 says its aware of this problem, however, has no time frame for resolution.Ok guys can we hurry up! Its rendering my ability to use this device dramatically as I am a exclusive Mac User. I have to keep another phone with me to reference #'s and email addresses!Does anyone have a suggestion(s), besides buy an iPhone? )
I connected my old 8310 to se if data was present and to charge the device. Now my computer does not recognize my 9800 Torch when connect. Thus I can now sync my device with contact and calendar files.
Does the Torch 9800 have the ability to link to a computer so you can access the internet on your computer remotely?
My wife has an iPhone which does this seamlessly (they call it "Tethering"). Went to the Telus store and the sales person claimed the Torch can do this but could not find the feature. I have spent 3 hours and cannot figure it out either.
This is regarding my bb torch 9800. I just did an update directly from the bb website and NOT from a desktop icon. All I did was connect the phone and pressed "check for updates", from which the results said that there was an update available. It never once asked me to do a system backup...just told me that this could take up to an hour and that I'd be unable to use the phone. All my contacts are gone. This is my first bb so clearly i had no clue about doing a sync to my sim card. Is there any way that I can save all that lost contact info?
I can't synch my contact list with outlook using BB desktop software. This seems to have happened after recent software upgrade. When I scroll the Synch options contact and calendar are missing. When I go to Device and Advance Settings and Default Services only my webmail accounts are shown and none of my outlook email accounts. How can I get back to synching with my outlook folder?
My Blackberry Torch 9800 is synchronised with Outlook on my work computer but I want to create a second copy of my contacts on my home computer. How can this be done?
How do I transfer videos stored on my DEVICE (not the media card) to my computer? When I connect with the USB cable, all I see are the videos stored on the card.it's rather important that I get this done.
I lost my bb 9800, i think i have data somewhere on bb server because when i login on BB protect website i can see that in archived back up details but i'm unable to restore it. And when i try to restore on my new 9810 it says "This data is already wirelessely synchronized with a remote service and cannot be restored by blackberry protect" only for contacts. And i've archived the device by mistake n now it shows "Remote admin commands are not available on archived devices".
I seem to have lost the 'Zoom' ability on the camera ! (Torch 9800) Yes, it is turned on in the settings but can't operate when trying to take photos (with finger on screen nothing shows) - it works on viewing pictures taken ! Tried turning off zoom then saving and then resetting and saving but to no avail.
When a call come in, displays on screen but no tones are heard. Went to "change sounds and alerts", "phone ring tone" and it just comes back to same screen.
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
I am using a Blue Ant Q1 Blue Tooth headset and updated to the latest firmware on it. Now when I tell the Blue Ant Voice command the command 'Phone prompt' it connects with my Blackberry Torch 9800 Nuance Voice command option with no problems. Now when I tell the Nuance voice command the numbers of a phone number I want to call, it will repeat it back to me to verifying the number. Now the numbers are clear when the voice command repeats the number I want to call.I swear it really sounds like the very first computer voice ever created, it's all garbled and muddy like. No real clarity in what it is repeating back to me.It is very hard to make out what the voice command is repeating back to me to verify the word I used to describe the number I want it to call. Now, I shut off my Blue Ant Blue Tooth headset and tried the Nuance voice commands with my phone only and I get the same poor quality computer animated voice issues coming out of my Blackberry Torch 9800.Is this normal, I sure hope not, after purchasing what I consider a top quality cell phone. I would expect more clarity with this software from Blackberry and Nuances. This is the one feature that I really need for a cell phone to perform well for me, since I am on the road a lot for my business and needs handsfree dialing.
